Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Friday, February 21st, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America.
Cash confirmed. IRS agents fired. Ukrainian minerals and Team USA versus Canada. It's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, Cash Patel has been confirmed to be the new head of the FBI.
Cash said, this is before he was nominated in an interview,
that if he were ever running the FBI,
he would shut down the FBI Hoover Building on day one
and reopen it the next day as a museum of the deep state.
He then said, I'd take the 7,000 employees that work in the building
and send them across America to chase down criminals.
Go be cops, your cops, go be cops, go chase down murderers
and rapists and drug dealers and violent offenders.
Cash was confirmed 51 to 49.
and Collins from Maine and Murkowski from Alaska were the two Republicans voted against him.
6,000 IRS employees are being fired.
This would eliminate about 6% of the agency's workforce.
These are all probationary employees.
These are people who have been at their job for less than a year.
But that's not enough.
Trump's new Commerce Secretary said the ultimate goal is to get rid of the IRS entirely.
Also yesterday, Trump's National Economic Council Director said the same thing.
the goal is to eliminate the income tax and replace it with tariff revenue. So we have Trump
firing 6,000 IRS agents. Remember, it was Joe Biden who wanted to increase the number of agents
in the IRS by 80,000. Worth noting that two-thirds of IRS employees are eligible to retire
in the next six years. I'll mention a quick Doge update. Trump threw out the idea of a Doge
dividend, where 20% of all Doge savings goes right to the American people. If Doge cuts $2 trillion,
from federal spending. 20% of that is $400 billion. There's 75 million taxpayers. It's $5,000 per person.
The rest would go down to pay the debt. Some White House officials have told Ukraine to stop bad-mouthing
America, stop bad-mouthing Trump, and also to sign that deal and hand over half of Ukraine's
mineral wealth to the United States. Mike Walls, our national security director, said some of the
rhetoric coming out of Kiev and the insults to President Trump are unacceptable. Scott Bessent, our Treasury
secretary was just in Ukraine, where he told Zelensky that half of Ukraine's mineral wealth
would be a nice repayment for all the money we've spent in Ukraine. Team USA versus Canada hockey finals
last night. Amazing game went into overtime. Unfortunately, Canada won three to two. Justin Trudeau
wrote on Twitter, you can't take our country and you can't take our game. It's going to be
interesting to see if Trump lets Canada compete as its own country in international competitions or not.
Like Puerto Rico has its own national baseball team. So will Trump let us?
Canada still compete as Canada
in the Olympics? This might be Canada's last
international competition ever. I'm Mike Slater
from Politics by Faith. Bill O'Reilly with your message

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Friday, as everyone knows,
political hatred is growing in the USA. Donald Trump, of course, is a magnet for it. Joe Biden,
no slouch either. Both these men are easy targets.
But that is not good for the country.
That is why Stephen A. Smith, Chris Cuomo, and me, your humble correspondent, are going on the road with the three Americans tour.
Never been done before.
Three vastly different guys talking about life in the USA.
That means three different audiences will be in attendance.
And that ensures the live presentation on stage.
will be lively, and we hope funny as well.
I hope we can demonstrate that different points of view and experiences in life
are worth considering by everybody.
No choir practice here.
You can expect the unpredictable A-games will have to be on display.
This is going to be a very, very vigorous debate.
But again, good nature.
So we hope you check us out.

You can reach me.

All right, let's go to The Mail. Ryan Feist, Portland, Oregon, my old stopping grounds.
Hey, Bill, it's not the media's responsibility to decipher what President Trump is trying to say.
Trump creates controversy by speaking recklessly.
I wouldn't use a word recklessly. I'd say he's imprecise.
But it is the media's job to put things into the...
proper context. And if they don't do that, they're being dishonest. Jane Jones, Lebanon,
Indiana. Will the money that Elon Musk is discovering be used to pay off the national
debt? I don't know. I guess that's up to Congress, because they're the ones that okay the spending
and all that, but it's still fuzzy. Right now, they're locating it, spotlighting it.
What happens after that, we don't know yet.
It's a brand new department doge.
Brand new.
Dana Clay, Winchester, Kentucky.
A friend of mine was concerned about Forest Rangers being laid off.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, it's what happens when you downsize in any company or any federal government.
People are going to be laid off.

commuting to work every day. On February 19th, Talking Point's memo was on the limits of
Doge. It was so clear and concise, I listened to it three times. I took notes, and that's
smart. Because you could straighten out a lot of people, a lot of your friends who are very
confused. If they don't watch her listen to me, you know, and are listening to all these other
people, oh my God, you wouldn't know what's going on. You, congratulations you described, Donald
Trump's Ukraine peace approach to a T. Thank you. We have inside information here, as everybody knows,
so I appreciate you recognizing it, Hugh. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
177 years ago today, the most destructive book in human history was published in London.
The philosophy in that book would bring about the deaths of more than 150 million human beings.
Here is the story of the Communist Manifesto.
Political theorist Karl Marx, born 1818 in Prussian, studied law and philosophy at the University
of Berlin, before moving to Paris, Brussels, and eventually England.
Over the years, Marx and writer Friedrich Engels developed what would become the Found
of the communist movement. Their ideology was simple. God is a myth, created to control
the masses. Religion is evil. Human life is a struggle between the workers and those who exploit
them for profit. The inevitable result, a global revolution where the working class seizes
control, eliminates the rich, and everyone lives in a socialist paradise. The manifesto was first
published on February 21st, 1848. For the next century, the book plunged hundreds of millions into
poverty. Between 1917 and the fall of the Soviet Union, Marx's policies killed 30 million
Russians alone. The communist seized control of China in 1949. Total deaths there from starvation
and political oppression, 50 million. During the height of the Cold War, one-third,
of the global population lived under a Marxist regime. Between 100 and 200 million people have died
in the pursuit of a socialist utopia. Today, just a handful of nations still practice
communism, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cuba. As for the authors, Karl Marx died penniless
at the age of 64 from Bonkitis. Friedrich Engels passed at 74 after a long battle with cancer.
Here's something else you might not know.
More than a half billion copies of the Communist Manifesto have been released since its publication.
The book remains the third best-selling tome of all time.
Ironically, the Atheist's Creed trails the Koran and the Bible.
