here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It's Monday, February 24th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America.
A traumatizing request. Cash makes moves, German elections, and Kamala wins something.
It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first,
Elon wrote on X, consistent with President Trump's instructions, all federal employees will receive
shortly an email requesting to understand what they got done last week.
Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.
Not everyone took this request well.
New York Magazine wrote of one federal employee who said they're proving that their only goal is not efficiency,
but to dismantle democracy by traumatizing federal workers.
This was a traumatizing request.
Elon said the reason this matters is that a significant number of people who are supposed to be working for the government
are doing so little work that they're not checking their email at all.
In some cases, we believe non-existent people or the identities of dead people are being used to collect paychecks.
In other words, outright fraud.
He later said to be clear, the bar is very low here.
An email with some bullet points that make any sense at all as acceptable should take less than five minutes to write.
The new FBI director, Cash Patel, says he plans to relocate up to 1,000 employees from the Washington office to field offices around the country,
areas particularly that have seen increases in violent crime, and move an additional 500 to,
their bureau facility in Huntsville, Alabama.
Cash Patel will also be running ATF, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and explosives.
Congressman Burleson of Missouri introduced legislation to abolish the ATF.
He said it's very simple.
Eliminate this redundant agency that consistently violates Second Amendment rights.
Germany had their elections yesterday.
The center right, and by center right, like just barely to the right of our Democrats,
the Christian Democratic Union got the most votes, 28.8 percent of
the vote, but all eyes were on the AFD party alternative for Germany. They got 20.2% of the vote.
Germany is Europe's biggest economy, their most populous country. It's worth noting that Germany's
per capita GDP is the same as our poorest state, Mississippi. Kamala Harris, she did not win the
presidency. But she did win the NAACP Image Award. She said at her acceptance speech,
some see the flames on our horizons, the rising waters in our cities, the shadows gathering over
our democracy and ask, what do we do now? But we know exactly what to do. Because we've done it
before and we will do it again. We use our power. We organize, mobilize. We educate. We advocate.
Our power has never come from having an easy path. Oh man. How different would things be if she won the
presidency? But she didn't. I'm Mike Slater for the podcast Politics by Faith. Bill O'Reilly with your
message today. Next.

time now for the o'reilly update message of the day on this monday there are conservatives very
angry with donald trump even some maga people because mr trump seems to be siding with the
evil vladimir putin in the ukraine war situation as you remember last week president
Trump said that Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, is a dictator.
And Mr. Trump put forth that the Ukrainians could have prevented the war
if they had been more reasonable in their negotiations before the shooting started.
Now, I'm not endorsing this at all one way or the other.
I'm just telling you where we are.
Mark Levin, very prominent conservative radio guy, he is lambasting Donald Trump and people who are criticizing Zelensky in Ukraine.
Other conservatives are disappointed because they feel that bad Vlad is evil, which he is.
In fact, my upcoming book out in September, confronting evil, has Putin on the cover alongside Hitler, Mao, and the Ayatollah Khomey.
But keep this in mind. Above all, it would be best for the world if the war ended in Ukraine.
And that's what Trump's trying to do. I don't think he's going to give away the store here.
I think this is all a posture to get bad Vlad to the table and get this resolved.
I hope I'm right. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. Now let's go to the mail.
Philip, why is Donald Trump involved in congestion pricing in New York?
Because federal money came to New York City to builds and repair some of the roads.
And once you get in bed with the feds, they got say.
That's the loophole.
Ted Lyons, St. Charles, Missouri.
Why would President Trump take a 10-minute flight from West Palm to Miami to make a speech?
That looks like he's tone deaf when Doge,
trying to cut waste. Ted, it would cost far more money for the president to drive the 90 miles
down I-95. In a caravan, everybody else off the road, far more money than flying down there.
You know, presidential caravans aren't cheap. Judy McBrine, North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
School vacation is here this week in Massachusetts. My grandson is home in bed with the flu.
I am reading him chapters from confronting the presidents and he is looking forward to it now
every day. You're a great grandma, Judy number one. You get those urchins involved with history
early, stays with them their whole life. Dr. Kevin Burke, Gassonia, North Carolina. The idea
for the three Americans tour is intriguing. My question is, will the three of you develop a dance
as was done for the Three Amigos film.
Number one, that's a terrible movie,
and part of the reason is because of that stupid dance.
So, no, we're not going to do that.
Should have been a good movie,
Short Martin and Chase, and it wasn't.
Sharon, please come to Boston with the Three Americans Tour.
Saw Your Miller Show, and it was fantastic.
Boston is on my list.
Boston, South Florida, Hard Rock.
Vegas, on the list. But why don't you come to Long Island, Sharon? You're not far away.
So if we can't do it nationwide, don't miss a chance. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might, not know.
Television ratings in the USA are down big.
People are not watching linear TV anymore.
Last week, more Americans viewed shows on YouTube than on television sets.
The turn towards streaming marks a major shift from people's habits just 25 years ago.
So let's do a little comparison here.
America's most popular shows in the year 2000, 25 years ago, ranked by Nielsen.
Here they are.
number 10 the practice never watched it i think it's a doctor's thing number nine law and order
still on the air but a tired format to say the least number eight 25 years ago everybody loves
raymond reruns hold up pretty well made ray romano a fortune and it's a
decent show. Number seven, West Wing, gone. Very few even remember it. It was about the White House.
Number six, will and grace, beginning of the woke movement, does not hold up. You very rarely
see reruns of that. Number five, who wants to be a millionaire? Regis Philbin made that show.
okay it's around i guess but it's never been the same since regis passed fourth place friends still
funny the six actors became multi-millionaires and remain icons to this day rest in peace
matthew perry now the top three from 25 years ago monday night football well it's a shadow of
its former self when you had Frank Gifford, Don Meredith, and Howard Cowell South.
Second place, ER gave us George Clooney, and I am holding that against ER.
Finally, the most popular television show of the year 2000, Survivor.
More than 52 million Americans watched the finale.
It's still around, but it's slowly dying.
Sorry, back after this.
