Bill O'Reilly here Monday, February 7th, 2022.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Here's what's happening today in America.
Border arrests reach a record high.
The nation's police officers under attack.
Drivers in California paying more for guests than at any other time.
Ratings Crater for the Winter Olympics.
Also, the Super Bowl halftime show is shaping up to be.
a disaster. But first, border patrol agents arresting 1.9 million illegal migrants in 2021,
the highest number on record. 20% of those detained by the government were eventually released
into the country unsupervised. The data was disclosed after a lawsuit by the attorneys general
of Missouri and Texas. The officials sued the White House after President Biden suspended Donald
Trump's remain in Mexico policy.
Subsequently, the Biden administration was ordered by a federal judge to restart the program,
which it says it has, but there is still chaos at the border.
More police officers were killed in a line of duty under President Biden than at any time
in the past 26 years.
According to statistics from the FBI 73 officers were intentionally murdered last year,
I'd say 59% jump compared to the previous year and the most since 1995.
Attacks against law enforcement are up in every major American city.
Departments blame the increase on anti-police politicians and lenient DAs,
homicides up 44% nationwide compared to 2019.
Gas prices around Los Angeles topping previous records.
The average gallon in Southern California, 475,
Folks in downtown, L.A. and Orange County paying five bucks at some stations.
That's $100 to fill up many tanks.
Experts blame the high prices on supply chain, inflation, fuel shortages.
Local taxes aren't helping.
California imposes a 51 cents tariff on every single gallon of gas sold.
Viewership for the Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, dropping 43% compared to 2018.
Fewer than 14 million Americans watch the festivities down from 24 million four years ago.
The Chinese games plagued by a series of controversies, including draconian COVID rules, diplomatic boycotts, warm winter weather.
In a moment, the Super Bowl halftime show will have many complaints.
We'll tell you why. Next.
Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress.
national debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets, and meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar
and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.
I never liked rap or hip-hop.
I'm an earth, wind, and fire, OJ's kind of guy.
Classic tunes that uplift.
On Sunday next, during the halftime show, the world will be treated
to a rap fest featuring performers who have embraced violent anti-police lyrics.
We used to see musicians like Paul McCartney and Prince perform at the Super Bowl.
Not anymore.
Now under the banner of diversity and inclusion, National Football League Chief Roger Goodell
is showcasing some pretty vile people.
Remember, Goodell is the guy who allows social justice slogans
like Black Lives Matter to be printed on helmets worn during the games.
I have not seen a back-the-blue slogan on any football helmets, have you?
Why is this slogan thing a one-way street?
The headliners is coming Sunday are Snoop Dog, Calvin Broadus,
Dr. Dre, Andre Young, and Eminem, Marshall Mathers, no relation.
to Jerry. All three have made tens of millions of dollars putting out recordings that contain
harsh, anti-social lyrics, which can be corrosive, especially to children and other immature minds.
Let's look at some of the lyrics. First, Calvin, quote, all you N-word out there, take your guns that you
use to shoot each other and start shooting these M-Fing.
police, unquote. Snoop Dog. And that's from his latest recording. One I presume Mr. Goodell
likes very much. Next, Andre Young, aka Dr. Dre, quote, shoot that MFER, gas MFER police, unquote.
And finally, the always effervescent Eminem, quote, we hate po-po police. On the surface's
halftime show is strange. The NFL is run by millionaire white guys who have little interest in street
culture. Yes, many of the players listen to rap and hip-hop, but I believe it's not yet piped into the
huddle, maybe next year. Since the Super Bowl used to be a family-friendly event, what the deuce is
Goodell doing? And why are American corporations sponsoring all this? Two reasons. The fat cats want to be
woke and cool. And they believe few will protest the anti-American stuff for fear of being canceled.
I fully realized just by criticizing the halftime show, I'll be branded a racist. That's the way
it works. Go up against the progressive agenda, the demons will descend. And the progressives do
not like American law enforcement. The truth is, we all live in a society of corruption,
and incredibly the white establishment is promoting it. Rapping about
killing police offers should be unacceptable in a civilized society, not rewarded.
I don't expect anything to change, but we should all understand exactly how these guys got
on that world stage and who put them there.

2021 was a very bad year for the entertainment industry.
Music sales, TV ratings way down since the COVID outbreak began.
But hardest hit was Hollywood.
before the pandemic, half of Americans took at least four trips to the movie theater each year,
spending an average of $12 a ticket. Annual box offer sales average $12 billion per annum.
So let's take a look back at what Americans were watching in the theaters, the highest grossing
movies, over the last two decades.
2001, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone made $317 million.
dollars. 2002, Spider-Man. And that was followed in three and four by finding Nemo and Shrek
2. 2005, Star Wars episode three, the sci-fi saga, took in $380 million. The next year was
all about pirates. Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean grows more than 420 million at the
box office. The superheroes took over the theaters in 2007. Biggest hit, Spider-Man
3, then Batman Dark Knight, James Cameron's Avatar, earned a whopping $760 million in 2009.
2010, Toy Story 3, then Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 11, followed by the Avengers in 12.
It was all about Hunger Games in 2013. The next year was quiet for the film industry.
Clint Eastwood's American sniper topped the box office with 300.
million dollars in ticket sales. Then Star Wars returned to the screen. The Disney-owned franchise
took the top spot three years in a row from 2015 to 17, with the Force Awakens, Rogue One,
and The Last Jedi. Two thousand 18 went to Black Panther. The superhero epic featured a
mostly black cast, and it went on to win three Oscars. Avengers Endgame was a massive hit in
2019, earning a billion dollars before COVID shut the theaters. The next year's biggest release
was Bad Boys for Life, but it generated just $100 million. 2021, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten
Rings. The adventure flick made $200 million last year. Biggest movie in America right now,
Jackass Forever. I have some names. Back after this.
