Bill O'Reilly.
here you are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It's Friday. February 7th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America. Vote,
voted. NC2A falls in line, ice leaks, and the big game. It's all coming up. Then Bill's
going to be here with your message today with first huge news for Trump and the Doge team and the
American people. The Senate voted to confirm Russ Vote as the director of the Office of Management
and Budget. Democrats spoke on the Senate floor for 30 hours.
just 30 hours of speeches trying to drag it out.
Some of them called him the most dangerous of Trump's nominees.
But in the end, it was a party line vote, 53 to 47.
Get ready for something called impoundment from the Office of Management of Budget.
Democrats in Congress think that when the House appropriates money,
that's the floor of spending and the executive branch has to spend it all.
Impoundment means, and Russ vote believes,
that when Congress appropriates money, that's a ceiling.
and the executive branch can spend less than that if they want.
They don't have to spend all of it.
So get ready for impoundment to be a tool often used by this administration.
After Trump's executive order banning boys from girl sports and men from women's sports,
the NCAA has fallen in line their new health and safety guideline,
student athletes assigned male at birth in competition,
a student athlete assigned male at birth may not compete on a women's team.
For some reason, the NC2A says that a man can still practice on a women's team, but I suppose this is a good start.
Three former University of Pennsylvania female swimmers are going to sue the university and the NC2A and the Ivy League Council of Presidents after they allowed a man, William Thomas, now known as Leah Thomas, to compete on the women's team.
Tom Holman and ICE led four raids in Aurora, Colorado to capture members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
But Holman says that the raid was leaked, greatly reduced.
reducing the number of Venezuelan gang members that they were able to arrest.
Holman said, we're not going to tolerate it anymore.
To have this type of interference puts officers at great risk.
This is not a joke.
This is a serious business.
And they need to stop or we're going to prosecute them through the Department of Justice.
Still, 100 members of the gang were arrested in the raids.
The big game is this weekend.
I'm technically legally not allowed to say the word that we're all thinking.
But it's the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
As you've heard 10 billion times so far, no team has won three straight championships in the NFL.
This is the Eagles fifth championship game.
They're one and three.
Their last appearance was two years ago, where they lost to the Chiefs.
This is the Chief's seventh championship game.
Four wins, two losses.
The 20 most watch TV programs of all time are all the big game, except for the mash finale in 1983.
That's the 11th most watched.
Kendrick Lamar is going to lead the halftime show, kickoff 630 Eastern,
on Fox. I'm Mike Slater from Politics by Faith, Bill O'Reilly with your message today. Next.

day. On his Friday, an activist named Mike Freeman has leaped out in front of the dumbest statement
of the year sweepstakes writing in the Trump-hating USA Today newspaper. Freeman opines
that President Trump should not attend the big game on Sunday.
because he, quote, stands for the opposite of everything we love about the Super Bowl, unquote.
Jeez.
First of all, who is we?
There will be more than 100 million people watching the Super Bowl,
and I believe that's a pretty diverse crowd.
What exactly is the blanket objection, Mike?
Will the masses rise up at the Super Bowl?
in protest of the president? Don't think so. In fact, he's more likely to get heavy applause.
It's Louisiana, Mike, Red State. Lots of conservative wheeze. But the folks really don't exist in the
bubble world for which Freeman writes. No, despite Donald Trump receiving almost 80 million
votes in November. The supercilious left totally ignores the data. The lefty simply cannot
fathom life outside the woke zone. To them, it's all an illusion because everyone they know
despises Donald Trump. So this statement is moronic. Mr. Freeman's Trump's Super Bowl analysis
falls under that banner. And USA Today is deliriously happy.

Let's go to the mail, Hal Rothbaum, Asbury Park, New York. Hey, Bill, I was one of the many of the
thought President Trump's idea of developing Gaza was absurd. Then I came across as, quote,
only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible Albert Einstein okay but it's not
going to happen the way that Donald Trump put it out there excuse me for the reasons that
I told you earlier in the broadcast but it's important to know that it could happen but
everybody would have to cooperate everybody and everybody won't

The tariffs have caused a hysteria in the land.
I believe that's due to the corrupt media.
No freedom of speech is guaranteed in the Constitution,
but something really needs to be done about the media noise.
Nothing will ever be done about it other than going bankrupt.
bankrupt. So I have a message of the day about an activist guy writing in USA Today that Trump
should be refused the Super Bowl. Shouldn't go. This is USA Today. Read the message of
the day on Bill O'Reilly.com. It's free. And I mocked the guy. I make fun of him. But USA

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. 112 years ago this week, the United States
ratified the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. For the first time, the federal government
imposed a national income tax on all citizens. Here is the story. Since the nation's founding,
taxes were typically paid on specific goods like alcohol and tobacco. In the early 20th century,
America was growing at a rapid rate. Lawmakers in Washington needed money to fuel
westward expansion, strengthen the military, and build a modern infrastructure. The House of
representatives approved the income tax in 1909. During the presidential election, three years
later, all of the candidates, William Howard Taft, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson,
favored the income tax. On February 3rd, 1913, the amendment was ratified. The law simply states,
quote, the Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes from whatever source
derive. In its first year, the average tax rate was 1%, the highest, 7% for wealthy people.
There were no adjustments, deductions, or loopholes. Today, the federal government takes in
$5 trillion every year, half of that from personal income tax. The typical American household
hands over 23% of its salary to the IRS.
That number drops to zero for the poor, 37% for the rich.
Now, some Democrats are demanding a so-called wealth tax.
That proposal will confiscate money from people based on their total assets.
Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, both socialists,
want a 2% annual tax on every household worth more
than 50 million bucks. That is obviously unconstitutional because it is not income. It is property and you cannot
seize private property. And here's something else you might not know. If you think $5 trillion is enough to run the
federal government, you're wrong. On average, Washington spends $7 trillion a year to keep the country going.
