Bill O'Reilly here, Tuesday, February 9th, 2021.
You are listening to the O'Reilly Update.
Here's what's happening across our nation.
Impeachment, the sequel, begins today.
Donald Trump's attorneys to call the proceedings political theater.
COVID cases drop across the country.
New York deploy a so-called mask squad to enforce lockdown.
Major banks report two out of five Americans have no financial safety net.
Also ahead, the real reason the nation is going through another impeachment.
But first, the second trial of Donald Trump in the Senate officially starting.
Leaders Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell reaching a deal that will, quote,
ensure a fair and honest process.
Testimony on whether the former president cited an open insurrection against
Congress will begin tomorrow, Wednesday. Today, it's just a bunch of maneuvering.
Mr. Trump's lawyers labeling the entire impeachment exercise, quote, an act of political
theater fueled by Trump derangement syndrome, unquote. The attorneys claim far-left lawmakers
are filled with hatred for now citizen Trump, and the proceedings violate his constitutional
rights to free speech in due process. More coming up in my message.
of the day. After punishing holiday season that left hospitals struggling, most places in America
now seeing a steady decline in new cases of COVID. Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska
reporting a 20% decrease of infection since early January. The worst spots for COVID, Arizona, and
Los Angeles. New York's Governor Cuomo sending members of the health department onto the streets
of New York City, the so-called Mask Squad, will enforce various restrictions and stop folks
from gathering in big groups into our dining returns to the Big Apple this coming Friday
at 25% capacity. New study shows two out of five Americans do not have $400 in the bank.
The survey from Chase reports 25% of U.S. adults have just enough money to cover
one month's worth of bills. About 20% do not have a savings account at all. That of course
leaves those folks absolutely powerless. In a moment, the real reason another impeachment fiasco
is underway. Right back. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt
rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile,

Time now for the O'Reilly Update. Message of the Day, impeachment, part two, the charade continues.
Now, you will remember, President Trump was impeached by the House on December 18, 2019.
The House of Representatives accused Mr. Trump of abusing his power and obstruction of Congress after he made a phone call to the President of Ukraine, asking the man to look in.
to allegations of corruption against Joe Biden and his son. Well, the Senate acquitted Donald Trump
of those charges on February 5, 2020. The primary allegation Donald Trump had solicited foreign interference
in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, then obstructed the inquiry by telling his administration
officials to ignore subpoenas for documents and testimony. Well, as I stated, this
Senate did not buy it, and go out today and ask people about the first impeachment. See if they
remember anything about it. Most will not. So now we have impeachment number two. We are in that
zone again. Mr. Trump charged with inciting insurrection after criminals broke into the Capitol
building on January 6th. But here's something very interesting.
interesting. The FBI says it now has evidence the capital assault was planned well in advance
by far right thugs. If that is true, no insurrection could have happened on the day in question
because the whole thing was planned far in advance. So Mr. Trump's speech,
exhorting his followers to protest peacefully, his word peacefully, couldn't possibly be responsible
for something that was planned weeks in advance. Or am I wrong? Or as the FBI wrong? So what is
really going on here? Well, the left despises Donald Trump. We all know that. And they want to
continue to humiliate him. It's very personal.
Senate Majority Leader Schumer and President Biden also understand there is absolutely no chance
Donald Trump will be convicted, just like last time. But for them, Schumer, Biden, and
many, many Democrats, just the diminishment of Donald Trump is worth the effort. But think about this.
what good does the impeachment this week do the United States of America? It makes us look weak
all over the world. People laugh at us now. It also puts Donald Trump in another position
to be humiliated. He's a president. He was duly elected. You might not like him, but he's not
there anymore. Why do you want to keep humiliating a former president? It's a little like
Bill Clinton, because even though he was acquitted of charges in the Senate, impeachment charges,
the Monica Lewinsky thing just became a national joke. And that's what the left wants to do
to Donald Trump. Make him a national joke. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.

Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
The U.S. airline industry still struggling to survive the pandemic with travel down 75% compared to last February.
Latest polls show a majority of Americans refuse to fly until they are vaccinated.
However, if you want to leave the country, there are a few nations around the world that
will let you in, but always with some restrictions.
For example, folks hoping to visit Europe will have to stop in Albania first.
American citizens can visit the country without a negative COVID test, but will be forced to
sanitize their luggage at the airport. For some warm weather this winter, you could head to Bar-Buda
and Aruba. Access to those Caribbean islands is contingent on a negative COVID test, taken no more
than seven days prior to arrival, but you can go there. Adventious Americans can also head
down to Brazil for carnival festivities this February, but the U.S. government is advising
everyone to stay away from South America, and Brazil is there for those of you who flunk geography.
Brazil is also a very dangerous place for COVID and other situations. Travelers from the USA are also
allowed to visit South Korea, but plan on staying there for a while. Even with a negative
COVID test, tourists must remain in quarantine up to 21 days. Violators are fined and kicked out of
the country, at their own expense. And here's something else you might not know.
Modern ventilation systems in commercial jetliners are now much safer in preventing
the spread of COVID than initially thought. Doctors say the odds of catching the disease
while on board a plane is less than one in 5,000. The odds of being infected and dying from
COVID, one in 500,000. Health experts believe the most dangerous time for travelers is not actually
when they're in the air, but while they're waiting to board in the airport. Back after this.
