Bill O'Reilly here Monday, January 13th, 2020.
You are listening to the O'Reilly Update.
Here's what's happening today in America.
Nancy Pelosi defending her decision to delay articles of impeachment.
Protesters taking to the streets of Iran after the regime shoots down a passenger airliner.
Latest election forecast showed Joe Biden most likely to win the Democratic domination,
and African Americans are a big factor in that.
Bernie Sanders, topping the latest polls in Iowa, however, as the caucus vote is February 3rd.
Also ahead, why Senator Sanders is such a tough competitor.
But first, Speaker of the House Pelosi defending her decision to hold up articles of impeachment from the Senate,
top Democrat claiming the political exercise exposed a, quote, potential cover up by Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The House voted to impeach the president in December. The article should reach the Senate this week.
Thousands of Iranian protesters angry after that government shot down a Ukraine passenger jet,
killing 176 people. Iran confirming the disaster, admitting they down the airliner by mistake.
President Trump backing the demonstrators, saying Americans are inspired by the courage,
police shooting at some of the protesters.
The latest election forecast showed Joe Biden in good shape to win the Democratic nomination.
Apparently, the former vice president has a 38% chance of taking on President Trump in 2020.
Bernie Sanders takes second place with 24%, Elizabeth Warren in third at 13%.
This is according to those who prognosticate future elections, of course,
They are often wrong.
Joe Biden does hold a huge lead right now among African-American voters, according to a new survey
from the Washington Post.
48 percent backed Biden more than double those supporting Sanders or Warren for the nomination.
Also, recent polls out of Iowa show Bernie Sanders now on top just three weeks before the caucus
vote there.
The far-left senator leads a pack with 20 percent, followed by a statistical
three-way tie between Biden, Warren, and Buttigieg, about three points back. However,
13% of Iowans say they have not made up their minds. Again, the vote coming up right after the
Super Bowl on February 3rd. In a moment, how on earth is the radical left Senator Bernie Sanders doing it?
How is he competing?
Right back.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update message of the day, the star power of Senator Bernie Sanders,
who, as we just reported, is now leading the polls in Iowa. According to real clear policy,
Sanders is also very competitive nationally. Here's the average. Joe Biden, 29%. Sanders, 20%, Elizabeth Warren, 14%, Pete Buttigieg, 7%,
Mayor Bloomberg, 6%. Those are the national averages, according to Real Clear Politics.com. Bernie Sanders is up
5% in the last few weeks. So why? What's going on? In New Hampshire, the situation is the
same. Sanders leads there, 21 percent. Biden 19, Buttigieg 18, Warren 15, Clovich R. 5, that vote
February 13th, I believe. Now, on the fundraising front, Bernie Sanders raised a whopping $35 million
in the fourth quarter of 2019. The total for the year stands at $96 million for Sanders.
average campaign donation, $18, so it's the folks that are giving him money.
That is a massive haul for Bernie Sanders.
Other candidates in comparison, Buttigieg raised $25 million in the fourth quarter, 19.
That's impressive.
Biden, $23 million, Warren, $21 million.
So who exactly is Bernie Sanders?
A quick reminder.
78 years old, he's a social.
self-proclaimed, born in Brooklyn, New York, his father, a Jewish immigrant from Poland.
Sanders attended Brooklyn College, then the University of Chicago.
He moved to Vermont in 1968, in the middle of the Vietnam controversy.
He ran for Mayor Burlington in 1980.
Then he entered the U.S. House of Representatives as an independent in 1988, U.S. Senate in 2006.
He is married right now to his second wife, Jane. They've been wedded 32 years. He was divorced from
his first wife. He has a son from another relationship. Here's something interesting. Bernie Sanders
honeymooned in the Soviet Union. He says he was there on official business as mayor of Burlington,
but come on, one day after he married Jane, he was in Moscow. Now, Bernie Sanders has really not
done much in the Senate. He has passed no significant legislation since he's been there. He does make
statements, and they are consistent. He wants socialist economic policies. He's against all war,
all conflict, that kind of thing. So Bernie Sanders is a populist, much like Donald Trump,
although they're on the opposite sides of the political spectrum. He's not a realist. He never gets
anything done in the Senate. But millions of Americans don't seem to care. They like his message
that big government will run the show, will run our lives. That's what Bernie Sanders campaigns on.
Last time around 2016, Hillary Clinton really jobbed him. Sanders gave her a run. But the
independent delegates all broke for Hillary Clinton, and she got the nomination. That fix is still in,
so we do not expect Bernie Sanders to get the Democratic nomination as a socialist which surely
lose to Donald Trump. I'm Bill O'Reilly and I approve that message by writing it for more news
analysis. Please visit Bill O'Reilly.com. In a moment, something you might not know. You've been hearing

not no. The British monarchy making global headlines with Prince Harry and his American wife
Megan Markle and their baby Archie announcing a potential move to North America for a life
outside the crown. I should amend that. Archie really doesn't have much to say. He's only
a month old or something like that. The decision requires a permission of the queen, Harry's
grandmother. Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch in England's history. More than 65 years in
power. The royal family is a total net worth valued at 90 billion pounds, including 18 billion in
property alone. That's Bloomberg money. The monarchy comes with a few perks. Let's list them. First,
the sovereign grant. Family's main source of income funded by UK taxpayers in 2019, the Queen received
100 million pounds, that's close to $200 million, to finance her official duties.
Not one of those duties is breaking in your own shoes. The queen has all her footwear
soften before it touches her feet. Elizabeth, not the only royal with specific needs,
however, Prince Charles, as a butler iron his shoe laces. Dinner time at the palace expect
perfection. Every potato is measured before serving. If sandwiches are on the menu, the corners must
be rounded as royals have an old superstition about eating foods with sharp edges. The queen also
fond of bagpipes. The Piper of the Sovereign is her personal player, a royal household staple
since the 19th century. The Piper even travels with Elizabeth on most international trips. Safety,
a big concern, kidnapping, break-ins, every member gets a security detail, guards have to pass a
30-week course, including combat. You need all that protection with the crown jewels hanging
around more than 140 priceless objects in the royal family's collections, swords, scepters,
crowns, estimated value, 3 billion pounds. Not everything with the monarchy is royally expensive,
however. They are known to save. Sections of some palaces in the UK recently furnished,
with items from IKEA.
Blimey.
