Starting point is 00:00:50 An executive order bonanza, preemptive pardons, TikTok is back, and game-winning drives. It's all coming up. Bill's going to be here with your message today, but first, Trump is not. wasting any time. His big rally before the inauguration in D.C. said he'll sign upwards of 100, maybe 200 executive orders in one day today. He said, somebody said, sir, don't sign so many one day. Let's do it over a period of weeks. I said, like hell, we're going to do it over weeks. We're going to sign them. Joe Biden on the way out the door has issued a preemptive pardon for General Mark Millie, Tony Fauci, and everyone on the January 6th committee. which includes, of course, Liz Cheney, a preemptive pardon.
Starting point is 00:01:34 He said at the end of his statement, this issuance of these pardons should not be mistaken as an acknowledgement that any individual engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense. Our nation owes these public sermons a debt of gratitude for their tireless commitment to our country. TikTok was unavailable to be accessed for 170 million Americans across the country. if you tried to sign in, or if you did sign in,
Starting point is 00:02:00 a alert would pop up that said a law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can't use TikTok for now. And the app was not available in the Apple or Google stores, nor was Lemon 8 or Capcut, which are also owned by TikTok's China-based parent company Bite Dance. Trump then just a couple hours later said that he will sign an executive order stopping the enforcement of the ban for 90 days. And then TikTok went back online with a new alert that said thank you for your patience and support.
Starting point is 00:02:32 As a result of President Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S. Trump said he would like to see a 50-50 joint venture between bite dance and an American owner. Amazing football games yesterday. Both frozen games came down to the last drive. Matthew Stafford was looking for his 52nd game-winning drive of all time. That's the fifth most ever. But the Eagles hung on in the snow. the bills did the same. The bills were up by eight, the final drive by the Ravens coming down.
Starting point is 00:03:00 They made it all the way, scored with only a minute 33 to go, but they needed the two-point conversion and the tight end bobbled the ball in the end zone. The Washington commanders will go to Philadelphia this Sunday, 3 o'clock Eastern, and then the bills will go to Kansas City to play the Chiefs at 6.30 this Sunday. Enjoy your inauguration day. On this Monday, it is inauguration day. Donald Trump, 47th president of the United States, and it should be a lively day, historic day, all inaugurations are. Let's do a little fun history here. So Abraham Lincoln didn't do his second inauguration speech. He had a very short statement, but he handed it over to Andrew Johnson, his vice president, who was drunk.
Starting point is 00:05:14 He was blotto, and everybody saw it. John Quincy Adams wouldn't show up to Andrew Jackson's inauguration because he despised Jackson so much. He got out of town real fast. Then there was the Trump inauguration controversy on January 20th, 2017, where Donald Trump said, hey, this was the biggest crowd ever, and the media went, no, it wasn't, and that was a total waste of time, you'll remember it. But that wasn't nearly as bad as William Henry Harrison, March 4th, 1840. 41. So the general goes out and gives an inauguration speech that lasts an hour and a half without a coat. And it's freezing. And a short time later, Harrison dies from pneumonia. That
Starting point is 00:06:05 happened. And finally, Barack Obama's swearing in, you'll remember, President Obama blew it and had to take the oath in the White House a few days later. Happy inauguration day. I'm I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Starting point is 00:06:54 Rich Ali, Brighton, Tennessee, do you think Joe Biden actually believes he has been an effective president? Of course he believes it because he wants to believe it. People believe what they want to believe. That's it. He's going to go, no, I was terrible. There's no way. rich steven san diego i respect your opinion about the presidents after reading your book confronting the president's o'reilly on tuesday's notes been news you were talking about biden never admitting a mistake and trump doesn't either i think most presidents don't admit mistakes my question is when was the last time a u.s president actually did bill clinton monica loewinsky that was the last time, I believe, if you know another time, let me know.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Scott Evans, Calabasas, California, right in the middle of the zone. Unfortunately, L.A. is the location for the 2008 Summer Olympics. It's going to put a lot of pressure on that. No, it'll be okay by that. But there might be a fire during the Olympics. If they don't wise up, Beverly Morgan, Newport, Tennessee, I'm a new concierge member. Can Donald Trump deploy military engineers and the national guarded to California, not unless Newsom asks. It's a state problem. They'll take federal
Starting point is 00:08:17 money, but Trump just, unless it's social disorder and things like that, it'd be very hard for him to do it. In a moment, something you might not know. Donald Trump will soon be the 47th president of
Starting point is 00:09:06 of the United States. Though the tradition seems relatively tame, there have been some crazy moments during inaugural times. Here are a few examples. 1829, the inauguration of Andrew Jackson. After Jackson's addressed to Congress, the new commander-in-chief returned to the White House
Starting point is 00:09:26 to greet guests, big party, everybody invited. Well, within hours of crowds well to more than 20,000, The mob took over the White House, spilling drinks, jumping on furniture, sleeping in beds, destroying gardens, on and on. It was madness. Someone even stole the dishes in silverware. To lure intoxicated partiers out of the White House, staffers set up bathtubs full of whiskey and fruit juice on the White House lawn.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Throughout all of this, Andrew Jackson was unfazed. Next, 1865, Abraham Lincoln's second inauguration. His vice president, Andrew Johnson, delivered the keynote address. Only problem, Johnson was drunk. Things got so bad, bystanders had to remove Johnson after he nearly collapsed while swearing in new senators. Wrote one member of Congress, quote, the inauguration went very well, except the vice president-elect was too drunk to perform
Starting point is 00:10:40 his duties. Finally, 1841, the inauguration of William Henry Harrison. Harrison's address was one of the longest in history clocking in one hour, 45 minutes. He delivered the speech in frigid weather. The president died a month later, likely from pneumonia he contracted during the speech. In total, Harrison held office for just 31 days. His presidential tenure remains the shortest in history. For more incredible stories about our nation's chief executives, please check out my big best-selling book, Confronting the Presidents.
