Starting point is 00:00:25 It is Thursday, January 23rd, 2025. Five, here's what's happening today in America, home and to work. First Bill passes Trump to Russia and get them to the floor. It's all coming up, then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day, but first, ICE arrested 308 illegal immigrants, including attempted murderers and child molesters, all on Trump's first full day in office. Authorities in Seattle arrested a Mexican man who was convicted of sexual abuse of a minor. In Miami, ICE arrested six illegal aliens from Guatemala, who had
Starting point is 00:00:58 Rap sheets including battery, child abuse, fraud, resisting arrest, DWI, trespassing and vandalism. In Boston, ICE arrested at least eight illegal immigrants, including a Haitian gang member with 18 arrests who shouted F. Trump, Biden forever, as he was hauled away. Amazing that the Democrats couldn't even get themselves to deport these people. In similar news, the House voted to pass the Lake and Riley Act. So it went from the House to the Senate, they made a few good changes, went back to the House again, and they passed it. 263 to 156, 46 Democrats voted in favor as well. The bill requires Homeland Security to detain illegal immigrants who are charged with certain crimes, including theft and burglary. There's another part of the bill that gives state attorney generals the right to sue federal officials, including the Secretary of Homeland Security and the U.S. Attorney General, if they do not enforce the Act's provisions.
Starting point is 00:01:56 The president wrote on truth, social, I'm not looking to hurt Russia. I love the Russian people. I always had a very good relationship with President Putin. And this despite the radical left's Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, we must never forget that Russia helped us win the Second World War, losing almost 60 million lives in the process. All of that being said, I'm going to do Russia, whose economy is failing, and President Putin, a very big favor.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Settle now and stop this ridiculous war. Senate Majority Leader John Thune said the Senate Republicans are ready to hold the Senate open nights, weekends, and recesses, whatever it takes to confirm Donald Trump's nominees. So far, only Marco Rubio for Secretary of State, the only one who's made it through. He was specifically referring to John Radcliffe, who would be, will be, the head of the CIA. He made it through the Intel Committee 14 to 3, but he's being held up by the Democrats. They could only hold it off about a week or so. Thune did get Pete Hegseth, scheduled for a vote Friday at worst Saturday morning. My sources in D.C. are telling me that Pete Haxeth has the votes.
Starting point is 00:03:00 No reason to hold this up any longer. We don't have a secretary of defense right now. So let's get this done. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast. Politics by Faith, the great Bill O'Reilly. He has your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress.

On this Thursday, we've been investigating the mass pardon of those who broke the law by invading the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021, and what I'm seeing is important. First off, I would not have pardoned any person who attacked a police officer. 172 have pleaded guilty of doing that. But other offenses are worth analyzing. The Biden Justice Department using federal judges absolutely went after the rioters with a vengeance.
Starting point is 00:04:57 The primary threat that was used was overcharging these people. Federal prosecutors often told defendants that unless they pleaded guilty to a specific charge, they would have more crimes added. Many protesters caved, facing decades in prison, enormous ongoing legal expenses. It literally costs millions of dollars to fight federal prosecutors because the cases can drag on for years. If one enters a guilty plea, the financial ordeal ends. So the Biden administration literally terrorized some rioters into admitting guilt. Is that justice? President Trump doesn't believe it is, therefore he issued departments.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Now, I would like to see the president explain why. some violent people got out. I think that's important. But equal justice does not include threats from federal prosecutors. And that is what happened in the J6 case. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'reilly.com name in town if you wish to opine now let's go to the mail jillian concierge member jillian has a direct access to me my team will help jillian if she gets into trouble bill so happy to see the january six pardons these people have been through enough even the violent people julian alice i appreciate your clarification of the january six attack o're
Starting point is 00:06:39 the imprisonment is, et cetera. But I'm still not fully clear why some people are actually thrown in jail, because they committed crimes. And in some cases, they were flight risks, and in other cases, they couldn't make the bail. When you commit a crime in this country, you're in, Jillian, you're in trouble. So keep that in mind. That's Alice, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Ron Forsterner, Cedar Hills, Utah. I agree with your assessment, O'Reilly of the Pardons, and I would not let the violent ones out either. I do believe we have a right to know about the January 6th committee and what really happened there. So do I. Especially if anybody on that January 6th committee that tried every way possible to hang Donald Trump figuratively, destroyed evidence. You've got to take a hard look at that. and I hope Pam Bondi is up for it. Kevin McDaniel, Las Vegas,
Starting point is 00:07:41 your coverage analysis of the pard's by Trump and Biden was fair. Good. However, there remains at least one answer question. Do the FBI have insiders on the ground at the Capitol? Yes, they did. They had informers in the crowd, gathering evidence, as any federal agency would. I'm not, I don't know exactly what they did,
Starting point is 00:08:04 but you've got to have undercover agents in. See what's going on. In a moment, something you might not know. Meet the most capable CRV Honda has ever dreamed up. Starting point is 00:08:55 The tune in his van had been resurrected by one man, Donald Trump. Here is the story behind Village People. The original group was created by French producers to cash in on America's disco craze in the 1970s. It auditioned young men in Lower Manhattan, particularly those who would appeal to disco's gay audience. According to the producers, they chose the name village people as a reference to Greenwich Village. Each member was chosen as a stereotype of traditional masculinity, a cowboy, police officer, Native American chief, construction worker, and sailor. Beginning in 1977, the people released a string of hits, including macho man in the Navy,
Starting point is 00:09:51 go west, and YMCA, which is Trump's favorite. 40 years later, YMCA was used by anti-lockdown protesters during the COVID pandemic. The letters were changed from YMCA to M-AGA, Make America Great Again. The song soon appeared at Donald Trump's campaign rallies. By the 2024 election, the image of Trump pumping his fist to the disco tune had infused pop culture. Now earlier this week, village people made the appearance at the president's second inauguration celebration. And here's something else you might not know.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Just one original performer, 73-year-old singer Victor Willis, remains a member of the group. The others are either dead or retired. Today, the village people remain one of the most successful acts in entertainment history. In total, they sold more than 100 million records in the USA alone. Back in a moment.
