Here's what's happening this week in America.
Another shutdown, steel production up.
Olympics next week and a major documentary premiere.
It's all coming up,
and Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, Senate Democrats voted unanimously
to block a package of six funding bills
that would fund large portions of the government
until September.
meaning we could have a partial government shutdown.
The debate is going to be centered around Homeland Security,
but ICE is funded in the one big beautiful bill.
Alas, the Democrats are demanding an end to roving patrols,
ensuring that federal agents are held to the same use of force policies
that apply to state and local law enforcement
and preventing agents from wearing masks and requiring body cameras.
Republicans need the support of at least seven Democrats in the Senate
to avert this shutdown.
Steel production in the United States has surpassed Japan's production for the first time in 26 years.
We are now the world's third largest steel producers, still ranking behind China and India.
But our crude steel production was up 3.1% last year to 82 million tons.
It's the first rise in two years.
We've got a bronze medal in steel production, but we're going to win a lot of gold coming up next week.
Very excited for the Olympics starting next week.
98 athletes will be there for the first time.
are in their fifth appearance for Team USA.
84 members of Team USA are current or former NCAA athletes.
That's 36% of the roster.
And the colleges that are most represented, Minnesota.
Seven athletes in Boston College with six.
The youngest member of Team USA is Abby Winterberger.
She's a 15-year-old free skier.
Colorado is the state that most athletes call home 32.
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, throw that in the mix.
You got 50% of our roster right there.
opening ceremonies are next Friday in Italy.
Now we got some work to do.
The country with the all-time most medals in Winter Olympics is Norway.
They have 406.
We're number two with 330.
Germany is behind us, 267.
Now, next Sunday, got the Super Bowl as well.
NBC is going to carry Olympics in the morning, then Super Bowl at night, and then back
to the Olympics, and all of it's going to be broadcast in 4K for the first time ever.
Melania Trump has a new documentary that comes out today.
The film is released on 1,500 screens across the country.
It focuses on the 20 days leading up to the inauguration, produced by Amazon MGM studios,
directed by the director of the rush hour movies, X-Men Last Stand, and the family man.
The media has been saying for weeks is going to be a huge flop,
but even deadline, far-left deadline, admitted yesterday that this could be the highest box office for a documentary in over a decade.
Stick it to the left. Go see Malani.
I'm Mike Slater from the podcast Politics by Faith Bill O'Reilly as your message of the day.

Investing is all about the future.
So what do you think is going to happen?
Bitcoin is sort of inevitable at this point.
I think it would come down to precious metals.
I hope we don't go cashless.
I would say land is a safe investment.
Technology companies.
Solar energy.
Robotic pollinators might be a thing.
A wrestler to face a robot, that will have to happen.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Thursday, it may be unfair of me to criticize Trump administration people like Cash Patel.
I am urging the FBI director to hold a press conference in order to update the American people on exactly what the FBI is investigating in the ICE, Minnesota debacle.
Obviously, there's much to clarify here with a state insurrection that has led to two people being killed.
The truth is that Mr. Patel has to get permission to do that from President Trump.
He can't unilaterally decide to meet the press.
That's because Donald Trump was burned so badly by Washington people in his first term.
He now runs a top-down operation.
All decisions come from the White House.
Franklin Dillon O'Rosevelt did the same thing for 13 years.
He and a few cohorts made all the calls.
FDR even wanted.
to sidestep the Supreme Court. Congress blocked him, but he would have done it. It was amusing
in a horrible way to see President Biden, the master of befuddlement, blamed Trump yesterday for the
Minnesota chaos. Come on, Joe, you caused it with your amazingly irresponsible open border policy,
and now the nation suffers. The truth is, it is up to Mr. Trump himself.
to get this thing under control. And I believe he'll do it. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by
writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill o'Reilly.com. Name in town,
if you wish to opine. Now, Norman, why can't the FBI our Homeland Security round up
big-time funders of insurrection like Singham and Floros throw them in jail? You can't round up
anybody. Can have evidence. Now, we're pushing for very aggressive investigation.
Can't round them up. Uh, you can't in China. I'm on. Bill, I assume that nothing can be
done against Neville Roy Singham as he conveniently pulls the strings from China, but can
anything be done about the U.S. outfits which use funds to foster violence? Of course,
it's conspiracy. Not that the FBI has got to prove. You got to go in and get. All these people should
go down, all of them. Charlotte, can the news media be sued for lying? No, they can lie their butts
off. They have protections in that area. If they lie about you, Charlotte, and defame you,
and you get hurt, you can sue them big time. Steve, concierge member, Steve's life is now
better because he's under our protection. That's what concierge membership is. All right? Bill O'Reilly,
come check it out it's an insurance policy and not expensive get a signed book by me if you sign up
steve says thanks for starting to get the heart of these radical anarchist movements i know you
hate cliches but you can't deny the validity of follow the money there's a lot of money going
into minneapolis to disrupt and that has led to death no doubt about it stephen hollick uh won a new
Jersey. You said Neville Roy Shingham is funding the rebellion of Minnesota so the Chinese
bosses must know what he's doing. The U.S. is China's largest trading partner, so why they
want to destabilize us? Because they want to be the world's most dominant power. That's
what it. That's what it is. Putin will never be the world's most dominant power, but China
might be. They want to weaken us. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know.
Eighty-one years ago, Soviet troops liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp in southern Poland.
Of the one million people dispatched to that complex, just a few thousand survived.
Here is the story.
On January 27, 1945, a band of Russian soldiers discovered the gates of what they thought was an abandoned factory.
They soon found 50,000 pairs of shoes, 10-foot piles of human hair, hundreds of oil drums
filled with gold teeth and reading glasses.
Cautiously, 7,000 survivors inside the camp emerged.
They had been abandoned without food, water, and heat for nearly three weeks.
Prisoners included Hitler's political enemies, communists, homosexuals, mentally disabled,
but mostly Jewish people.
The average life expectancy at Auschwitz less than 11 days, if you were over 50, about an hour.
The liberation exposed the world to the horrors of the Holocaust.
At its height, the Third Reich operated 42,000 confinement ghettos and concentration camps.
The network spans from France to Russia, jailing more than one million innocent people at any given time.
between 15 to 20 million human beings were murdered or imprisoned at these sites, the largest
crime in human history.
And here's something else you might not know.
During the liberation of Auschwitz and other death camps, survivors spontaneously began singing
Havtikvava, a 19th century poem about the Jewish people's eventual return
to Jerusalem. The title in Hebrew means the hope. Today, the song is the national anthem for the
state of Israel. The Holocaust is not to be denied, and any human being who does that
should be condemned. This is not a debatable issue. For more facts about the horace of Hitler's
Third Reich.
