Thank you, Bill. It's Tuesday, July 16th, 2024. Here's what's happening today in America.
It's the hillbilly.
America safe again, the buck stops with me and case dismissed. That's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message today. But first, J.D. Vance is Donald Trump's
pick for his vice presidential running mate. Senator from Ohio, he's only 39 years old,
born into poverty in Kentucky. His mom and grandfather were alcoholics. He was essentially
raised by his grandmother. This is all in his book, Hillbilly elegy, which the left loved
until he came out as a Republican.
He joined the Marines
and then went to Yale Law School
and was just elected to the Senate in 2022.
Trump said of him on Truth Social
during the campaign.
He will be strongly focused on the people he fought
so brilliantly for
the American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania,
Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota,
and far beyond.
Tonight is day two of four
of the Republican National Convention.
The theme is make America safe again.
Among the speakers,
the brother of Rachel Moore,
Warren was a woman in Maryland who was raped and killed by an illegal alien from El Salvador.
He snuck into America illegally after killing a woman in his home country.
The head of the Secret Service said the assassination attempt on President Trump was, quote,
unacceptable and something that shouldn't happen again.
She said, the buck stops with me.
Actually, she was asked, does the buck stop with you?
And she said, yeah, the buck stops with me.
She responded to reports that the suspect was seen and identified before the opened fire.
And she said, well, that was a very short period of time between when he was first spotted and the shooting.
New reports from Pennsylvania are saying that it was as much as 30 minutes when the first law enforcement officer took a picture of this suspicious person,
up to 30 minutes before he was finally killed.
She also blamed local police for not securing that building.
She was asked if she would resign.
She said no.
The hearing at the House Oversight Committee is July 22nd.
It makes you think, what does it take to get fired in the Biden administration?
A judge completely dismissed the Jack Smith classified documents case.
The judge ruled that this appointment of a special counsel was unconstitutional because
he was never appointed by the president and confirmed by Congress.
Random people on the street just can't prosecute people for crimes.
So the case that started with busting down the doors of Marilago, completely dismissed.
I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Faith.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Tuesday, the Trump shooting will lead to a bevy,
of unintended consequences.
Here are a few of them.
President Biden will get a reprieve from his own party
trying to remove him from the presidential ticket.
Before Saturday night, Biden was under siege.
Now his detractors have to halt the assault
until a shocking Trump situation dies down a bit.
Mr. Biden's political future, however,
remains in jeopardy.
The head of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheedel,
is finished. She will have to resign. Security at the Trump rally was terrible. Agents in charge in
Pennsylvania will also pay a price. But the biggest unintended consequences are going to be on the
hate brigades that populate the corporate media and the social media. These people are now
quickly retreating. But we know who you are and we know who is paying your check. We will continue
our expose on those corporations. President Trump has been mercilessly attacked for almost nine
years. The American people must demand accountability here. Only Abraham Lincoln suffered more
vitriol than Donald Trump. And we all know,
what happened to President Lincoln. Finally, Trump has a huge opportunity to blunt the January 6th
situation that continues to haunt him. If he calls for moderation of hate speech on Thursday,
he will score big back after this. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.
You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine.

We hope you consider it.
Thank you, Bill, for reporting on Saturday.
I needed to hear your calming voice of reason.
I am very angry, and I don't blame it.
I don't blame you at all.
I'm Bob, a concierge member.
You're right, Bill.
It's time to stop the hate speech.
triggers the crazies into violent acts.
Janet, I agree there is so much hatred and anger and vitriol on talk shows, late-night
actors, actresses, social media, people just go for the juggler.
A house divided itself cannot stand.
And that is a quote from Abraham Lincoln.
Thomas, Indiana, I'm not going to tell you his last name because I'm going to scold him.
O'Reilly, why do you always find it necessary to say on both sides when talking about hate
spewed out. We can see that this kind of hate all comes from the left. You live in a world
of your own, Tom. You're not in a real world. Six to one, the left is more hateful, and we
calibrated this than the right in the media circles, including social media. But the right's
got a presence there. John Tucker, Omaha, Nebraska. Would President Biden's Oval Office speech
had been more effective had he acknowledged that he was guilty of the negative
radically as well. Of course. Of course it would. Just like I said up top. With Trump too.
Jonathan Rousseau, Marietta, California, and President Biden should unite the country and invite
President Trump to the White House to show solidarity. That's not going to happen. There's just
too much bad blood there between the two men. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might, not know.
44 years ago today, Republicans in Detroit formally selected Ronald Reagan as the party's nominee
for president. The Gipper went on to win two general elections by the biggest margins
in American history. Here is the story. Born February 6th, 1911,
in Illinois. Young Ronald began acting in high school. He moved to Hollywood in 1937, where he landed
acting roles at the Warner Brothers Studios. After World War II, Reagan served as president of the
Screen Actors Guild. That's my union. There, he fought a very public campaign against alleged
communist infiltration in showbiz. His acting career, well, it kind of died out.
So then Reagan pivoted to politics.
It was elected Governor, California in 1966, served two terms.
Four years later, the Republican announced his campaign for the White House.
His slogan, Make America Great Again.
Sound familiar?
By the summer of 1980, Ronald Reagan had won 42 Republican primaries.
George H.W. Bush won nine.
In a distant third place was Illinois Congressman John Anderson.
On July 16, delegates at the Convention in Michigan officially nominated Ronald Reagan.
He went on to defeat Jimmy Carter with an electoral landslide, 489 to 49.
Two months after his inauguration, Ronald Reagan barely survived an assassination attempt,
which I write about extensively in my bestseller, killing him.
Reagan. Four years later, President Reagan won re-election by an even larger margin. 525 electoral votes
to 13 for Walter Mondale. After two terms in office, Reagan led the USA out of high inflation,
rebuilt the military, launched an arms race with Russia that ultimately bankrupted the Soviet Union.
Ronald Reagan died in 2004 after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's. And here's something else you might not know.
Reagan's nickname originated long before his career in politics.
In 1940, the actor appeared to a movie called The All-American.
In it, he played football star George Gip.
Reagan's famous line from the film, win one for the Gipper.
Back after this.
