Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Wednesday, July 16th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America.
Another court steps in. Inflation numbers, tariff deal, an AI summit in Pennsylvania. That's all coming up.
Then Bill is going to be here with your message of the day. But first, in May, Trump's Homeland Security announced that they would end temporary protected status.
for about 75,000 Afghan migrants, whom the Biden administration resettled across America.
TPS for Afghans was supposed to terminate on July 12th, but the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals
has now halted DHS from moving forward with that plan.
Among the many abuses of this program, a 27-year-old Afghan man was arrested in Oklahoma last year
after allegedly planning an election day terrorist attack on Americans.
This man was brought to the United States through Biden's massive resettlement.
operation. In September 2022, the DHS Inspector General issued a report detailing how the Biden
administration imported Afghans who were, quote, not fully vetted and could pose a risk to national
security. The mainstream media panicking over the latest tariff numbers, so let me give you the actual
numbers. The consumer price index, the CPI, rose just 0.3% in June. Core CPI, which excludes
food and energy, was up a mild 0.2%, just slightly up from May's 0.0%.
0.1% increase.
Year over year, overall inflation is 2.7% and core at 2.9%.
Nothing like we were told what happened with the tariffs.
Some categories we've seen disinflation.
Computer prices are actually down 0.3%.
Apparel, down 0.5%.
But still, things high enough to give Powell cover to probably not cut interest rates.
Come September, though, things will get interesting.
By then, the Fed will have CPI data for July and August, plus two more jobs.
reports. Speaking of tariffs, the president announced a deal with Indonesia. Indonesia has agreed to
pay a 19% tariff on all imported goods into the United States, and the United States will pay
zero tariffs in their market. Trump said, I spoke to their really great president, very popular,
very strong, smart, and we made the deal. We have full access to Indonesia, everything. As you know,
Indonesia is very strong in copper, but we have full access to everything. We will pay no tariffs.
So they're giving us access to Indonesia, which we never had.
You remember a week or so ago, the president wrote a bunch of letters to countries around
China, and Trump threatened a tariff of 32% if they didn't make a deal.
And they did 19%.
Trump was at an energy summit hosted by the new Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick,
announcing $75 billion of investments coming to Pennsylvania, all in the energy and AI-related
fields.
McCormick's main argument is, if America doesn't lead an AI, then China will.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, Message of the Day.
On this Wednesday, it is July 2025, and the next presidential campaign is about three years away.
Well, not exactly. It's already in motion.
California Governor Gavin Newsom rolled into the early primary state of South Carolina last week,
shocking the water moccasins and swamp dwelling gaiters.
Usually this time of year, Newsom would be sipping fine wine in Napa Valley or eating hearty at the sardine factory in Monterey.
But no, there's Gavin, savoring the night.
90% humidity in the Palmetto state.
He wasn't there for the pecans, even though he said some very nutty things.
Like Trump's big bill will hurt American kids.
O'Pie Newsom, that bill, they just signed, completely saddling our kids and grandkids with
trillions and trillions of dollars of debt.
Newsom is somewhat of an expert here.
he took over the governorship from Jerry Brown in January 2019, California had a budget surplus of
$21 billion. Mr. Brown, a disciple of fiscal responsibility. Today, the Golden State
owes a $12 billion deficit. Math alert in five and a half years under Gavin Newsom and his
crazy left-wing cadre. The state has burned through an incredible $33 billion. I wonder what the
California kids think about that, dude. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.

to opine. All right, the mail, we got a concierge member named Brent, and Brent has exes to me,
and my gang. And we will help Brent.
anything should befall him.
Epstein conspiracy theories have become just another mass psychosis.
I like that, Brent.
Time to focus on our time and energy on matters of more consequence.
Well, you know that's not going to happen because it's a mystery.
Jack, concierge member on Bill O'Reilly.com.
I'm not sure there are any innocent victims in this.
Put out the names and let us common folk decide who should get prosecuted.
That's mob rule, Jack.
You really want mob rule?
You really want the media defining things for you when you know how dishonest the media is?
Michael, concierge member, and I don't just pick concierge members, we read the best letters.
Where's the transparency we were promised?
That's who bothers people.
My theory, as I stated previously, is that the Democrats are not pushing for the release
in the files because Bill Clinton was involved, and the Republicans are not releasing the files
because Trump may be involved.
Clinton, I don't know about.
Okay, Trump, if he were involved under Biden,
they certainly would have released that information.
Certainly.
Remember, Biden administration had all of the Epstein files
or whatever they are for four years.
John Ward, Charlotte, North Carolina,
many Trump haters in my life are dear friends,
and they try to shame me for voting for the man.
Well, they're not dear friends, then.
John, I'm sorry to break it to you.
Your vote is your privilege.
You're right.
Anybody trying to shame you?
Not your friend.
You might explain that to him.
In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
26 years ago today, one of the most charismatic men in America died after his plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.
His death solidified what many call the Kennedy Curse.
Here is the story of JFK Jr.
The young Kennedy was born November 25, 1960, just a few weeks after his dad was elected president.
On his third birthday, the boy attended the funeral of his assassination.
father. John remained in the spotlight for the remainder of his life. Famous for his good
looks and adventurous spirit, he was frequently seen skiing, surfing, or piloting his own
aircraft. On the evening of July 16, 1999, John, his wife Carolyn, and her sister, took off in a
small plane from an airfield in New Jersey. The journey to Martha's Vineyard was less than 200 miles.
J.F.K. Jr. and his passengers never arrived. On July 21st, Navy divers recovered three
bodies. The wreckage was discovered under 100 feet of water, just eight miles off the coast
of Massachusetts. A private memorial was held in New York City two days later. Attendees
included President Clinton, 10 sitting U.S. senators, and Muhammad Ali. In its final report,
the National Transportation Safety Board concluded. The crash was caused by an inexperienced pilot,
JFK Jr., who became disoriented in the dark and simply lost control of the plane, flying it
right into the ocean. And here's something else you might not know. JFK's demise was another
tragedy to befall his troubled family. Since 1944, at least
These 22 members of the Kennedy clan have suffered premature death.
The grim list includes two by assassination, five air crashes, six drug overdoses, multiple
suicides, and five automobile accidents.
Said Senator Ted Kennedy before dying from brain cancer in 2009, quote, I often wonder if
some terrible curse does hang over the Kennedy family.
Back after this.
