Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update, sponsored by Tax Network USA. America's number one choice for tax resolution. Please go to TNUSA.com slash bill or call 800-245-6-0-0. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It's Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Here's this happening today in America.
Starting point is 00:00:30 hired of all the winning Newsom to a swing state, French elections, and youngest male ever to make the team that's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day, but first massive Supreme Court decision, huge win for Donald Trump. The court ruled that a former president has absolute immunity for his core constitutional powers when he's president. Former presidents are also entitled to at least a presumption of immunity for their official acts. And there's no immunity for unofficial acts. You will hear people on the left freak out. They're like, oh, this means the president can send CL Team 6 to murder someone. No, that is not an official act of the president. This is all in response to President Trump wanting to make sure
Starting point is 00:01:12 the election results of 2020 were accurate. That is, of course, within the official duties of the executive branch of the federal government. That's what the Supreme Court ruled. Jake Tapper, who of course moderated the debate last week, talked to Biden's national co-chair Chris Coon, Senator from Delaware. And Tapperson, I think it's easy to settle this right now. President Biden going to the press center in the White House and doing a two-hour press conference. Everyone would cover it live.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Networks probably would cover it live. He'd answer all these questions. It's not a crazy thing to expect a president to do. That's how you settle this. You put him in front of reporters and he handles himself with acuity, a plum. We see it was all just a fluke. And the fact that you haven't done, that says quite a bit to me. Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom hosted a blue summer campaign kickoff.
Starting point is 00:01:54 in New Hampshire and told reporters I will never turn my back on President Biden. As someone who spent 12 years in California all under Gavin Newsom's reign, he is a snake. He will poison you
Starting point is 00:02:09 and kiss you on the cheek. Watch out for Gavin Newsom. France held their first round of elections and the nation's right-wing party won. And of course, in response, rioters smashed windows, vandalized statues, and set a bunch of stuff on fire.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Get ready for a similar reaction when Trump wins in November. Le Pen's party got 33% of the vote. The left-leaning new popular front coalition got 28%. And the Francis president, his party, Macron's party, just got 20% of the vote. Quincy Wilson, youngest American male to be a part of the Olympic track team ever. He'll be on the 4x400 relay pool.
Starting point is 00:02:44 He's a rising junior from Maryland. Ran one time around the track 400 meters in 44.17 seconds. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Fate. great Bill O'Reilly. He's got your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Thoreau, the only dealer I trust, American Hartford gold. And you can do this. Get precious men. delivered to your door or place in a tax advantage, gold IRA. They'll even help you roll over your existing IRA or 401K, tax and penalty-free. Starting point is 00:03:54 889.99. Again, that's 866-326-5576-5576 or text bill to 998899. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Tuesday, because we don't use anonymous sources here, I cannot confirm the following as fact, but I believe it to be true. Right now, President Biden is emulating President Nixon at the end of the Watergate mess, trying to hold on to his job. But like Nixon, he will fail. Powerful voices inside the Democratic Party understand that Biden cannot win re-election. If he stays in a race, the Democrats may well lose the Senate as well.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Already, they are assured of being defeated in the House. Joe Biden received more than 80 million votes in 2020. In November, he would be fortunate to get half that number. Democratic fundraising may soon collapse in the wake of Biden's terrible debate debacle. So he has to go. But how? That's the intense internal debate right now, so to speak. There is no sliding candidate.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Kamala wants it. So to governors Newsome and Pritzker of Illinois. All are far-left zealots with little chance to defeat Donald Trump. Michelle Obama could, but she's a mystery. Expect this. Sometimes soon, President Biden will step aside as President Johnson did in 1968. But first, the K-Street Democrats in D.C. have to quietly float names with the top liberal media moguls.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Something as monumental as this is not done spontaneously. What is absolutely certain is that Joe Biden is finessell. as a powerful man. Shortly he will have to go quietly into the night, dragging Jill Biden with him. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Okay, let's go to the mail. We got Gene Champson, Oakland, California. What have set me the most about Biden's of Bay performance that expose how many people in government and the media have been lying to the American public about the true nature of Biden's condition. This is a huge fraud for which there
Starting point is 00:06:22 should be consequences. You are correct, but there's not going to be any consequences. That's why I named the politicians tonight who were at the forefront of lying about Biden's condition. Now, they're going to say, well, I didn't see him that way, but you can't do anything to him. The media is the worst, though. The media knows, and they just covered it up. Boy, oh, boy. Oviedo, Florida. The question should not be, can Biden win? The question should be, is he competent enough to be president? And the clear answer is no. This is frightening to me about the future if Joe Biden gets elected. Me too. Tomorrow, we're going to go over what kind of an American could vote for Joe Biden at this point of history. Should we condemn
Starting point is 00:07:11 them? Feel sorry for them? What should we do? That's our lead story tomorrow. let's all hell breaks loose tonight, which it might. Jake Cotterill from the Czech Republic. My question is, if the DNC replaces Biden for Newsom, does the governor even have a chance to beat Trump since he has governed California so badly? No one knows. I mean, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:07:37 I don't think so. But who knows? I mean, you know, Newsom's articulate. You know, presents himself. that way. Jerry Axton, Pataya, Thailand. See, we got a pretty big reach here, Czech Republic, Thailand. Hey, Bill, is there a Democrat President Trump could consider as VP? Why would he do that? Why would he Donald Trump consider a Democrat for VP? The smartest pick Trump could make now for VP would be Nikki Haley. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might, Not no. 143 years ago today, an American president was shot inside a Washington, D.C. train station. His death a few months later ended one of the shortest administrations in American history. Here is the story behind the murder of James Garfield.
Starting point is 00:09:05 The Ohio Republicans served in Congress before being elected to the White House in 1880. His platform focused on civil rights and veterans' benefits. for Civil War soldiers. Garfield himself commanded a union division at the Battle of Shiloh. On the morning of July 2, 1881, four months after taking office, Garfield arrived at a train station near the National Mall. He and his family planned on escaping the D.C. heat for a vacation in New England. They never made the journey. Like most politicians at the time, Garfield, his wife and two teenage sons, had no security detail. Ready to ambush the president was a deranged 39-year-old named Charles Guitau
Starting point is 00:09:55 from Detroit. The delusional man was obsessed with Garfield. He often bothered him at the White House, delivering random speeches and notes to AIDS. During a brief meeting between the two, Gattal asked to be appointed ambassador to France. It was a very important. absurd. The man was imbalanced. At 9 a.m., President Garfield entered the station. The gunmen emerged shooting the president in the arm and back. The assassin was immediately arrested. Garfield taken back to the White House. Miraculously, he clung to life. Months later, the president was stricken with a massive infection from the gunshot wounds. He died on September 19th, 1881, James Garfield had been president for 200 days.
Starting point is 00:10:50 After the gunman, a jury found him guilty after 45 minutes of deliberation, he was hanged for his crime.
