Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It is Thursday, July 20th, 2023.
Here's what's happening today in America.
Whistleblower X.
Kamala spreading misinformation.
Louisiana overrides their governor
and Jason Aldeen's music video band from CMT.
That's all coming up.
Then Bill will be here with your message of the day.
the IRS whistleblower known as Whistleblower X.
He has a real name, Joseph Ziegler.
He's been a special agent in the IRS's criminal investigation division for 13 years,
and he appeared alongside his supervisor, Gary Shapley.
Joseph said he tried multiple times to blow the whistle inside the IRS about Hunter Biden,
but to no avail.
One noteworthy thing to the people who say he's just a partisan hack who hates Biden,
he says, quote, I've recently heard an elected official say that I must be more
credible because I am a gay Democrat married to a man, but I'm no more credible than this man
sitting next to me due to my sexual orientation or my political beliefs. I was raised and have
always strived to do what is right. The claim is, simply put, the IRS did not handle, as they
normally always would have, a claim of tax fraud because it was the president's son. And in the
end, only gave him two misdemeanors. Kamala Harris said gun violence is the number one cause of death
for children in America.
The problem is she is citing a study that includes
18 and 19 year olds as children.
Remove those and deaths from automobiles
are still the highest.
In Louisiana, the state legislature passed a bill
banning puberty blockers and hormone therapy
for children while the Democratic governor
vetoed it and the Republican legislature
overrode his veto.
The governor said, I expect the courts
to throw out this unconstitutional bill.
Well, the Sixth Circuit Court just said that these bands are constitutional.
Jason Aldeen has a new music video for his song, Try That in a Small Town.
It's number one in the country charts, but CMT has pulled the music video because it has
B-roll of protests around the country from the last few years.
Some claim the song is pro-lynching, which is absurd.
The song says, sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk, carjack and old.
lady at a red light pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store you think it's cool we'll act like a
fool if you like but try that in a small town so i guess we're pro sucker punching people on
the sidewalk and carjacking old ladies at a red light i don't Cheryl crow tweeted i'm from a
small town jason aline there's nothing small town or american about promoting violence how is he
promoting violence but that's country music today woke as everything else i guess

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Thursday, now it is a race.
The two runners are the political parties, Republicans and Democrats.
The finish line, taking out Trump or Biden or both.
The former president first.
Special counsel, Jack Smith, has alerted Donald Trump that he will most likely be indicted
on federal charges that he illegally interfered with the election of 2020.
A D.C. grand jury has to sign off on the specifics, and they will.
An Alabama grand jury would not.
My educated speculation is that the alleged crimes will be nebulous, and Trump will not be hurt in the polls.
As for President Biden, the whistleblowers are in full throttle, and it's devastating.
Everybody knows that the Justice Department, and we're talking about three of them,
we're talking about Eric Holder under Obama, Bill Barr under Trump,
and presently Merrick Garland under Joe Biden, failing to investigate Hunter Biden in a fair and responsible manner.
$20 million has flowed into the Biden family.
No reason why that money showed up.
And he's charged with two misdemeanors?
This is a scandal.
Who is going to be whacked first?
I can't tell you, but I can tell you this.
It's a shame for this country.
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
I approve the message by writing it.
You can reach me.

Name in town if you wish to opine.
All right, let's go to the mail.
We got Eric Goodsell in Salisbury, North Carolina.
The result of the 2020 election is not what angers many people.
I believe the anger is rooted in the vigor in which it was and still is forbidden.
We've even questioned the results of the election.
What say you?
I think you're right.
So you're deemed a loon.
if you don't believe the 20 election was legitimate.
The left and the media have established that.
However, if you are going to say as fact
that there was fraud in the election,
you've got to have something.
And it can't be from the Internet
or from Rudy Giuliani or somebody like that.
You can give an opinion.
Well, I think it was, but you can't state it for a fact.
Paula White, Urbondale, Iowa.
I can't agree with your opinion on Governor DeSantis, O'Reilly.
I've attended two of his Iowa meetings.
I believe he has support here, and that will grow.
Many Iowans are upset the attacks by President Trump on our governor.
The Iowa polls have Trump way up, Paula.
And I'm a fact-based guy, so it's not about agreeing with me.
It's agreeing with the polls.
Now, can DeSantis make strides in Iowa?
Well, sure. But my job is a report to you what's happening.
Roberta Stanelin, Jaten, Texas.
I would think the White House is the most surveilled building in America,
and I find it laughable. There's no evidence showing how K. Kane got stashed there.
If the white power contained anthrax, they would have found it.
Look, it's incompetent and suspicious.
That's the Biden administration, is it not?
Incompetent and suspicious.
In a moment, something you might not know.

Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
90 years ago today, the Vatican reached the formal agreement with the Third Reich.
The church agreed to withdraw from German politics.
In return, the Nazis promised to preserve religious freedom.
In reality, the deal helped Hitler conquer Europe.
Here's the story of the Fuhrer and the Pope.
In the early 20th century, 40% of Germany's population was Roman Catholic, the other 60% Protestant.
When the Nazis seized control in 1933, Hitler promised to protect the Catholic minority
in exchange for their political support.
months of secret negotiations. A delegation from Berlin was dispatched to Rome. On July 20th,
1933, the Vatican Secretary of State and Germany's vice-chancellor signed the agreement.
The treaty guaranteed the free operation of the Catholic Church within Germany. However,
all members of the clergy were forced to take an oath of loyalty to the Nazi regime.
Any criticism would be met with imprisonment, torture,
even death. Hitler interpreted the agreement to mean he had won the Pope's approval, thereby
gaining international recognition. The Holy See saw the deal as a method of preventing the spread
of atheism and communism from the Soviet Union. As Europe quickly descended into chaos,
the Pope remained quiet, even though thousands of German priests were sent.
to concentration camps.
The relationship between the Catholic Church and the Third Reich
endured until Hitler's suicide in 1945,
largely because German troops occupied Rome.
And here's something else you might not know.
Five decades after the Holocaust,
the Vatican issued a formal apology to the Jews of Europe.
In March 1998, Pope John Paul II
issued the following edict, quote,
We deeply regret the errors and failure of the church in those times.
We cannot know how many members of the church were horrified at the disappearance of their Jewish neighbors,
yet were not strong enough to raise their voices in protest.
Back after this.
Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines.
