Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Tuesday, July 7, 26. Here's this happening today in America.
Platner accusations. Mitch McConnell missing, Trump accounts open and a disappointing finale.
It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, Maine's Democrat Senate candidate, Graham Platner, facing new allegations that he broke into a woman's home.
and sexually assaulted her.
The woman is now 41 years old.
She told Politico that she and Plattner had an on and off relationship in 2021, but then he
entered her rural main home uninvited one night while intoxicated, and Platner forced, quote,
forced himself on her while she repeatedly told him to stop.
In a video on Twitter, Plattner said any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically
false. But Platner's campaign canceled all events over the weekend. A few reporters are saying
that Mitch McConnell is in bad shape in the hospital. Really bad shape. He was admitted on June 14th.
It has been confirmed that that morning, emergency responders performed CPR on an unconscious
individual undergoing cardiac arrest at the Senator's Washington address. But a spokesperson did not
disclose any information, any reason for the hospitalization, or any details about his condition.
McConnell is 84. He's the longest serving Senate leader in U.S. history, and he's serving out
his final term, which ends in January. The Trump administration has officially launched the
Trump accounts. Over 6 million accounts have been created. 1.4 million newborns have received
the $1,000 federal contribution. This is available to children born between January 1st, 2025,
and December 31st, 2028.
In order to open an account,
you parents have to fill out an IRS form 45-47.
That's right.
Trump number 45 and 47.
So IRS form 45-47,
but don't be discouraged by filling out a government form.
Trumpaccounts.gov made it really, really easy.
And pretty much anyone can contribute to the account,
grandparents, employers, even some nonprofits.
The president rang the New York Stock Exchange bell from the Oval Office.
First time that's ever happened to kick off the Trump accounts.
disappointing finale for America and the World Cup.
Our worst game so far against our best opponent.
4-1 loss with the late Belgium goal.
But we just couldn't get anything going.
We should be proud of our team, though.
It'll be a fun road for the next four years until the next World Cup.
We've got a great future.
The team's still remaining.
Today's Argentina and Egypt and Switzerland versus Colombia.
That's to get the final quarter final spot.
Belgium will play Spain, France against Morocco, and Norway versus England.
I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Faith.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Tuesday, it's easy to figure out why many members of the Trump administration continue to give access to Fox News.
It's well watched by conservatives and generous to the president's men and women.
Social media outlets will soon pass FNC's reach, but it will remain a comfort zone for the right.
Nothing wrong with that when you consider that the other television news outfits are all commuting.
left. The Trump administration is the most press accessible in history. Unlike many Democrats who boycott
opposing points of view, it speaks with the leftist media. I guess the Trumpsters hope to persuade.
Long shot. And you can imagine President Biden speaking with the opposition very rarely happen.
But getting specific, I don't understand the Jake Tapper thing.
CNN loosed Mr. Trump and Tapper is right on board with that.
He is deeply emmished in the gotcha game.
So why bother with him?
I'm not getting this at all.
I do respect politicians and pundits that mix it up.
That is a rapidly shrinking group.
but I don't believe in rewarding contrived deceitful behavior.
Both parties should engage the opposition.
Just be honest about your agenda.
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
I approve the message by writing it.

Now let's go to the mail.
Bob Vactor, L.A.
You keep referring to the Democratic Party as the Democratic Party.
Why, there's nothing Democratic about it, in my opinion.
Well, Bob, if you want to rewrite history, that's up to you.
But when the Democratic Party was founded, okay, Thomas Jefferson, it was the Democratic Party.
So, I mean, I don't inject politics into this.
It's history.
Maureen, great column, Bill, many people believe their rights come from the government, not from God.
How sad is that?
My column, God versus communism.
Just posted yesterday, Sunday, we will be read it.
And, you know, if you have younger people, they don't know.
That's why I wrote the column.
You guys say, look, this is like a problem.
five-minute read here and you'll learn a lot a lot of times they don't care to learn but
what are you going to do David Carve in Lumberton New Jersey just watched the Scaramone
interview one of the most interviews yet what great insight to the world of politics
and a great follow-up to Victor Davis Hanson I can't wait to see what you have on next

But we're doing, as I said, really well with that.
Thanks to you.
But it's free.
Come on.
Avis Engel, Medford, Oregon, the clip of the Bidens was absolutely bizarre.
Yes, it was.
Got no coverage.
They're not going to touch Joe and Jill.
In a moment.
Something you might not know.
Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might.
Not know.
The summer season is officially.
underway, and for millions of Americans, that means a ticket to see live music.
Some of the most popular tours this year feature aging rockers.
Here are the senior citizens appearing on stage.
Joan Jett, 67-year-old, has dates in the U.S. and UK, including a headlining gig at Wembley Stadium.
Elvis Costello going strong at 71.
The British troubadour hit it big in 1978 with the single Pump It Up.
His real name, Declan, Patrick McManus, good Irishman.
Getty Lee is reuniting with his Rush bandmates for the first time in a decade.
The group is performing without their original drummer, Neil Puckett.
Hurt, who died in 2020.
74-year-old John Mellencamp, back on the road.
Unlike previous concerts, a singer is promising to perform his biggest hits.
Jack and Diane, Pinkhous, Small Town, Hurts So Good.
Bruce Springsteen, currently touring the USA and Europe.
The boss recently made headlines for bashing President Trump while performing in
England. Folks in South America can see Alice Cooper and his band The Hollywood Vampires.
The 78-year-old is famous for his horror antics, including makeup, leather whip, and the appearance
of a 10-foot python. Beach boy Mike Love, still singing at age 85. You can see him and the boys at 40
concerts this summer. The oldest rocker Ringo Star, the Beatle turns 86 this July, and here's
something else you might not know. Aging musicians are able to perform later in life thanks to
modern medicine. Some singers use inhalers, steroids, and autotune to improve their voices. Between
songs Mick Jagger takes a quick break backstage where he takes a
a few hits from an oxygen tank.
Back in a moment.
