You are listening to the O'Reilly Update.
coming up next. The News with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Wednesday, July 8th, 2026. Here's this happening today in America.
NATO in Turkey. Oh, excuse me. Turkey A. Building, buckling, him to, and Walmart cutting prices.
It's all coming up, and Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first,
the president is at the NATO summit held in Turkey. And he said he will consider allowing Turkey to
by American F-35 fighter jets.
The president said we have a better relationship with Turkey.
And Turkey's been in many ways, much more loyal than other countries that we think would
be loyal.
So it's certainly something we would consider.
He is really driving home to the point that Italy and England and Germany in particular
were not helpful during the war against Iran.
He said, I was very disappointed with NATO.
And frankly, if it weren't held in Turkey, where my friend happens to be a very strong
leader, a very strong person, it's possible that I wouldn't have attended. Italy turned us down
and Germany turned us down and France turned us down. It's okay, but we're spending hundreds
of billions of dollars and they're not there for us. We've always been there for them.
Several blocks of Midtown Manhattan were evacuated when construction workers found beams
buckling. There's a 37-story former office building. It's being converted into residential housing.
And beams on the 21st floor started buckling. So, the three-story-story-lawful.
the city created a frozen zone for several blocks around the building following 911 calls.
This was starting at 8 a.m. yesterday.
The fear officials said is a partial collapse, which would be internal, they think.
A full collapse onto the street, they say, is less likely.
But when authorities arrived and they were examining the scene, the building continued to move.
A team of six people were able to enter the building in around 3 p.m. yesterday to determine if it was safe enough to begin shoring efforts.
Graham Platner might be out of the Maine Senate race.
The Democrat candidate has more sexual assault allegations.
The latest from an on and off again girlfriend who in 2021 said he broke into her house and raped her.
More Democrats are bailing on him, even Bernie Sanders, saying it's now best that he step aside.
The Democratic Party in Maine said he's got to go to.
But they have until Monday at 5 p.m. to choose a replacement.
Otherwise, Susan Collins, the incumbent Republican, will run on opposed.
But this far-left group progressive victory said the potential replacement for Graham Platner struck a female colleague with a bottle he threw at her during a disagreement.
Troy Jackson is the former president of the Maine Senate.
Walmart announcing their cutting prices on thousands of items, a 12% cut on ground beef.
Some even more dramatic than that, though, a ear of corn from 68 cents to 25 cents.
And a bag of cherries from 1118 down to 563.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Wednesday, it was almost a relief to see so many respectful displays on July 4th.
As I have been reporting, most Americans love their country and believe in its nobility.
That is very bad news for the progressive cadres who despise America.
You saw them in Newport Beach, California.
where looting and other criminal behavior broke out on the fourth.
Newport is an affluent community south of the Los Angeles airport.
The radicals targeted the beachside town because of its prosperity.
You can easily gather them on social media and say,
we're going to Newport to cause trouble, and then 400 people show up.
Soon, federal and local police agencies are going to have to crack down on
those trying to overthrow our system.
Lincoln had to do it.
So did Franklin Roosevelt to some extent.
You cannot reason with the socialist, communist, communist movement.
Sedition will have to be confronted, or there's going to be big trouble here.
And I mean big trouble.
I have had quite enough of the destroyers and their media allies.
they need to be confronted with the boundaries of the law.
If you despise capitalism, there are other countries in the world, many of them who don't have it.
Maybe you check that out.
Back in a moment.
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
I approve the message by writing it.

Bill I agree with you
the insurance companies
are gouging us
I have State Farm
and I just saw
Caitlin Clark
on an ad
and I wonder
how much is going
to cost me
at the end of the
year?
It's going to cost
a lot.
These insurance
companies are
running commercials
like I've
never seen
and all that
comes off
the marketing
and then your
premiums get
raised.
That's going on.
on. Vicki, concierge member, we are Vicki's bodyguards or something. The gas price
gouging is one of the downsides of capitalism. I'm a staunch supporter of capitalism. However,
there can be some oversight from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Trump says
there will be. I'm going to hold them to do that. The President can really lay wood to these
people if they continue to gouge us.
And he should.
Norman, concierge, remember, I don't like Chuck Schumer.
This is off my Sunday column.
I hope you read it.
Okay, never have.
But he could at least hang on to his dignity by being loyal to his brand and quick
pandering to the radical communists.
He's not going to do that.
He's like Biden.
They don't believe in anything.
They don't.
Arthur, concierge,
remember the Democrats' mantra
for the past several years
is saving our democracy.
When you hear them all saying it over and over again,
you start believing it.
Not me.
I don't believe.
They don't have any solutions to problems.
Can you believe that?
Saving our democracy.
I'm a bunch of bull.
Okay?
I'm not buying it.
In a moment, something you might not know.
Here we go.
Someone's already claiming this is our year.
Someone else said that last year, too.
A round of Jameson, Ginger, and Lime
arrives at a table. Smooth enough for kickoff,
smooth enough for extra time.
New friends pulling up a stool.
Debates about whether that was a handball.
Cheers rising like a roar around the room.
Because match days are about the shared moments.
How did Jameson to your match day lineup?
Jameson, it's what you bring.
Please enjoy our products responsibly.
Now the O'Reilly update brings you something
you might not know. Five years ago today, President Joe Biden announced the withdrawal of American
forces from Afghanistan. Just five weeks later, that country was in the hands of the hated
Taliban. Here's a story behind the fall of Kabul. President George W. Bush ordered the invasion of
Afghanistan in the aftermath of the 9-11 terror attacks. The mission was simple. Kill al-Qaeda terrorist,
eliminate the Taliban leaders who gave them shelter and sanctuary.
The operation quickly turned into a quagmire.
After 20 years of combat, 20 years, President Biden vowed to remove all U.S. troops.
On August 15, 2021, two weeks before American soldiers were set to withdraw, the Taliban entered Kabul.
The U.S. VAC government collapsed.
The country's president vanished with a whole load of money.
Thousands fled the capital city.
As a disaster unfolded on live TV, President Biden hailed the operation as a, quote, extraordinary success.
The extraordinary success of this mission was due to the incredible skill, bravely, and selfless courage of the United States military.
in our diplomats and intelligence professionals.
Ten days after Biden's address, a suicide bomber killed 170 civilians and 13 members of the U.S. military at Kabul International Airport.
And here's something else you might not know.
The Pentagon lost an immediate investigation into the botched withdrawal of U.S. troops.
A special inspector general concluded the mission was doomed from the start.
states his report, quote,
The withdrawal was abrupt and uncoordinated.
The U.S. simply handed Afghanistan to the Taliban.
The operation destroyed the morale of Afghan soldiers and police.
In total, America's war in Afghanistan claimed the lives of 100,000 Afghans,
3,800 U.S. contractors, and 2,500 service members.
little was accomplished unless you believe that giving Taliban all of our weapons was an accomplishment
back in a moment.
Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly update.
