Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It is Tuesday, June 10th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America. Send in the troops, the left's spin, two still on the loose, and the entire committee retired. It's all coming up, and Bill's going to be here with your message today. But first, we reported yesterday on the 2,000 members of the California National Guard who have been actually. activated by the president. Only 300 have been deployed to the streets of L.A. so far because they

happen to be on their routine National Guard drill that weekend when they were mobilized. It could take up to 72 hours to mobilize guards. But Pete Hackseth, our Secretary of Defense, said, due to increased threats to federal law enforcement officers and federal buildings, approximately 700 active duty U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton are being deployed to Los Angeles to restore order. We have an obligation to defend federal law enforcement officers even if Gavin Newsom will not.

Maybe the highlight of the news media spin so far comes from an ABC 7 local LA anchor who said it could turn violent if you move law enforcement in there the wrong way and turn what is just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn into a massive confrontation. The spin from the Democrats during all this right now

is that this is the beginning of Trump's civil war on all of America. The argument from Democrats is that Trump fanned the flames of this rioting that Dana Bash on CNN said, Trump's the real arsonist. So he fanned the flames and then federalized the National Guard and he's going to go into every other state and do the same thing. Gavin Newsom said that's why he's suing the federal government. He said this is an unmistakable step towards authoritarianism. The girlfriend of one of the two remaining inmates who broke out of that New Orleans, Orleans jail last month. She's been arrested for allegedly helping his escape. Over a dozen people

have been arrested so far, including the jail maintenance worker who's accused of shutting off the water to the toilet, which allowed the escapees to remove it. The reward for the two remaining has been increased to $50,000. One of the escapees was convicted last year of two counts of second degree murder. He was facing life in prison. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he is removing every member of a government panel that makes vaccine recommendations. Kennedy said he's retiring all 17 members of the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices

asserting has become little more than a rubber stamp for any vaccine. He said a clean sweep is needed to reestablish public confidence in vaccine science. Senator Bill Cassidy was the main senator against RFK Jr.'s appointment. He said he now fears that this committee will be filled up with people who know nothing about vaccines

On this Tuesday, in order to understand the Trump-Musk dust-up, you have to understand the world of power as well as the pursuit of it, extremely complicated scenarios. In my book, Confronting the Presidents, we vividly portray how all 45 men dealt with power. Most struggled with it because extreme discipline is needed to state,

grounded in the real world. Abraham Lincoln handled it so to George Washington, but others like Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon allowed themselves to misuse their authority. Both President Trump and Elon Musk live in worlds where they call all the shots. There are a few personal constraints on folks who have vast wealth and influence. But when the powerful step out of their self-constructive bubbles, things can go south in a hurry. The cliche is staying in your own lane. Mr. Moss took a risky U-turn by hammering the president's tax and spend bill. The richest man in the world did not have to do that publicly, but he did. Donald Trump's reaction was predictable on every level.

He expects loyalty from those in the administration, all presidents do. Also, he badly needs the bill to be passed so taxes don't automatically rise. That would likely lead to recession, dooming the president in the midterms. Therefore, the proposed bill is vital to Donald Trump's legacy. An attack on it is an attack on him. That is the world of power. It is doubtful that Elon must understood that, and thus the situation rapidly got out of control.

The new policy bans entry for most citizens from 12 countries. Here's a quick rundown for those now considered persona non-grata in the USA. Haiti. Afghanistan, too many ties to terrorism there.

Trump administration claims all those African nations have no adequate screening process to stop terrorists and criminals from entering the United States. And that's true.

The travel ban also applies to seven more countries where access to the USA is limited, but not suspended completely. Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. In total, 475 million people around the world are now restricted from coming to America. And here's something else you might not know. Despite the travel ban, entry is still permitted for many travelers. Exemptions exist for green card holders, those working in the USA. dual citizens, individuals with family members in America, diplomats, athletes competing here,

and political refugees. The asylum system still exists, even though it was abused by President Biden. Predictably, Mr. Trump's critics say the policy is another example of his racism. According to the White House, the ban will quote, protect U.S. citizens from aliens who intend to commit terrorist acts, threaten our security, and espouse hateful ideology, unquote.
