Starting point is 00:00:00 Amazon Pharmacy Presents Painful Thoughts 20 more minutes to kill in the pharmacy before my prescription is ready. Maybe I'll grab some deeply discounted out-of-season Halloween candy. Hmm, I never had a chocolate pumpkin with raisins before. Those were raisins, right? Next time use Amazon Pharmacy. We deliver. And no, those were not raisins.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Amazon Pharmacy. Healthcare just got less painful. less painful. Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thanks, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Strikes in Iran. Padilla handcuffed. Rescission passes house and a species rediscovered. That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, Marco Rubio said tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. we are not involved in strikes against Iran, and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region. Israel advised us that they believe this action was necessary for its self-defense.
Starting point is 00:01:10 President Trump and the administration have taken all necessary steps to protect our forces and remain in close contact with our regional partners. Let me be clear, Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel. It is reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander of Iran has been killed. The Revolutionary Guard, among other things, controls Iran's ballistic missiles. Reports also that the chief of Iran's military and other members of the top brass, and also many nuclear scientists were killed in these IDF strikes in Tehran. One of the targets was a nuclear facility. This Israeli operation was called Rising Lion. Christy Knoll headed the Department of Homeland Security, had a press conference in L.A. The senator from California,
Starting point is 00:01:53 Alex Padilla, was pushed out of the press conference. He started yelling, demanding that he asked a question, and then he was pushed out by security and then brought to the ground and put in handcuffs. Padilla is the son of Mexican immigrants. Christy Noem defended what happened. She said, nobody knew who he was when he came into the room, creating a scene. He was removed from the room, and yes, they started to put handcuffs on him when he finally identified himself, and then that was stopped.
Starting point is 00:02:19 They said, he wants to talk to us, and sure, I'd love to sit down a visit. So we went into a room and visited it for 10 or 15 minutes and then exchanged phone numbers. Homeland Security also released a new poster. It looks very World War II-esque with Uncle Sam painting on a wall. Help your country and yourself report all foreign invaders. Ice. 866 DHS2 Ice. The House has passed the White House's first, hopefully of many, rescission packages.
Starting point is 00:02:45 This one, and these rescission packages, this is where the Doge cuts are codified. This one deals with cuts to USAID and also to the corporation report. public broadcasting, which is PBS and NPR. To debunk a claim that I'm sure many will make about PBS regarding Sesame Street, just a few weeks ago, a deal was made with Sesame Street and Netflix. 90 hours of past episodes will be on Netflix, and new episodes will air on Netflix and PBS simultaneously. Rest easy.
Starting point is 00:03:13 I know you've been very worried about the long-beaked echidna. It's been extinct since the 1960s, but it has been rediscovered deep in the rainforest of Indonesia. This is an egg-laying mammal like the platypus. Turns out they're doing just fine. I'm Mike Slater from Politics by Faith. Bill O'Reilly with your message today. Next. Crystal clear waters.
Starting point is 00:03:34 White sandy beaches. Tropical drinks with little umbrellas. Stress doesn't exist here, but it could back at home where an undetected water leak can turn into costly water damage. But with Moe and Flow, you can enjoy your vacation with no worries. It detects leaks and stops your water main automatically.
Starting point is 00:03:53 from anywhere. So the only thing on your mind is having nothing on your mind, Moen. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Wednesday, there are a number of reasons why the Trump administration sent the military to contain the anti-ice riots in Los Angeles. We have discussed the politics of the action. It does benefit President Trump by pleasing his MAGA base. But there's a motivation rarely discussed. During the George Floyd riots in Minneapolis in the spring of 2020, 520 individuals were charged with serious crimes. You may remember the city was on fire, billions of dollars in damage, scores of people hurt, looting out of control. Well, out of those 520 cases, all but 26 were dismissed.
Starting point is 00:04:54 The accused walked. The liberals that run Minnesota did not want to punish the miscreants. President Trump believes the same thing would happen in Los Angeles. Few would be charged. Governor Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass don't blame the lawbreakers. the president for the riots. The thinking is, I should not even be in existence. Most deportation efforts should cease. In addition, relatively few violent protesters did time after the Rodney King riots in 1992, when President Bush, the elder used the military to stop the
Starting point is 00:05:33 carnage again in L.A. I was there. It was dangerous. The Insurrection Act of 1807 gives all presidents the power to use the military when local authorities cannot ensure public safety. Like now in LA. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. Norman is a concierge member. Thank you, Norman, and we hope that you are benefiting from concierge membership on bill o'Reilly.com. Big news is L.A. riots, That's not Elon Musk, unless a number of violent protesters is relatively small in comparison of law-abiding California people and fake news is trying to blow it up.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Now, fake news is exploiting it, but I don't think they're misreporting it. I didn't see any of that, and I watched closely yesterday, but they're blowing it. Now they got nothing else to do. And you're right, I mean, this ice stuff is far more important than Elon. Lee Rogers, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Senator Johnson is willing to risk losing everything to the the liberals in the midterms because he's inflexible on government spending. Would he rather be right or still in power in 26th? I believe that Senator Johnson will vote for the bill.
Starting point is 00:06:52 I think he knows what your point is, Lee. You know, just the takeaway that I got from interviewing him yesterday. Jim, concierge member of Bill, both you and Senator Johnson are ignoring the impact of making permanent the Trump tax cuts, which will likely give us more federal revenue. I'm not ignoring it. I've never ignored it. Okay? Yeah, the tax cuts will stimulate more tax receipts to the federal government.
Starting point is 00:07:19 They'll get more money, but nothing like what it's going to take to bring down that $37 trillion debt. McKee Wolf, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I'm thankful, O'Reilly. You are sharing your experience and insights with us because you cut through all the ideological nonsense and tell it to a straight. What are the tangible reasons the far-left gives to justify their unbridled hatred for Donald Trump? They believe he's an authoritarian and he is on, there isn't one progressive tenant, not one that Donald Trump supports. In a moment, something you might not know. Get lost in the acoustic brilliance of 3D audio that surrounds you.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Feel the embrace of the massage seats that adapt to your every move. Experience the warmth of a vehicle that welcomes you as you approach. Take it on a test drive at the Lincoln's summer invitation with exclusive offers on now, only at your local Lincoln retailer. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might, not know. This week, President Trump is resurrecting a controversial policy from his first term.
Starting point is 00:08:41 The so-called travel ban. The new policy bans entry for most citizens from 12 countries. Here's a quick rundown for those now considered persona non-grata in the USA. Haiti. The failed nation is overrun with drug smugglers, gangs, human traffickers. Capital City, Port-au-Prince, launching point for narcotics entering North America. Afghanistan, too many ties to terrorism there. Iran, the biggest terrorist state in the world.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Yemen, home to the Houdi rebels, the Islamic militants that attack American and Israeli targets in the region. Myanmar, country has been embroiled by civil war since 1948. Ethnic violence, ramped, no central authority. Chad, Somalia, Libya, Congo, Eritrea, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Sudan. Trump administration claims all those African nations have no adequate screening process to stop terrorists and criminals from entering the United States. And that's true. The travel ban also applies to seven more countries where access to the USA is limited, but not suspended completely. Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. In total,
Starting point is 00:10:00 475 million people around the world are now restricted from coming to America. And here's something else you might not know. Despite the travel ban, entry is still permitted for many travelers. Exemptions exist for green card holders, those working in the USA. Dual citizens, individuals with family members in America, diplomats, athletes competing here, and political refugees. The asylum system still exists, even though it was abused by President Biden. Predictably, Mr. Trump's critics say the policy is another example of his racism. According to the White House, the ban will, quote,
Starting point is 00:10:49 protect U.S. citizens from aliens who intend to commit terrorist acts, threaten our security, and espouse hateful ideology, unquote. You can make your own decision on the travel ban. I have no problem with it. Back after this. This episode is brought to you by LifeLock.
