Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It's Monday, June 17th, 2024.
Here's what's happening today in America.
Supreme Court win.
Joe Biden, cash, flight almost crash, and largest concert ever.
It's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message today.
But first, after the 2017 mass murder in Las Vegas, the ATF, alcohol, tobacco firearms,
declared that bump stocks are machine guns.
A bump stock is an accessory that you put to a semi-automatic rifle where the recoil of the gun
causes you to pull the trigger faster than you otherwise could on your own.
And the ATF declared that a machine gun.
that piece, that the accessory is a machine gun, therefore made them illegal.
But the Supreme Court just said six to three that a part can't be a machine gun.
A machine gun is a gun that can fire more than one shot automatically by a single function
of the trigger.
That's what the law says.
But the bump stock is not a gun and you still have to pull the trigger every time.
One trigger pulled for one bullet.
Clarence Thomas said that the bumpstock merely reduces the amount of time that elapses
between separate functions of the trigger.
Joe Biden had a big Hollywood fundraiser on Saturday.
George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Barbara Streisand, 7,100 people at the Peacock Theater
in L.A.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted a conversation between Biden and Obama.
The last big fundraiser for Joe Biden was at Radio City Music Hall.
They raised $26 million.
This one raised $28 million.
The federal government has been investigating a Southwest Airlines flight after it plunged
towards the ocean off the coast of Hawaii.
This occurred on April 11th, but it only became possible.
public now, when Southwest sent a memo to pilots about the incident. The memo indicated that
a newer first officer was flying at the time and inadvertently pushed forward on the control
column. The plane was only 400 feet above the water. A musician just broke the record for the
largest concert in America. The previous record was held by the Grateful Dead, 1977 Raceway
Park in New Jersey, 107,000 fans. But this artist just performed in front of just under 100,000.
111,000 ticketed fans at Texas A&M's Kyle Field.
It's even larger than they get for the football games.
This artist has the most number one singles of any artist in any genre,
the only artist to chart a top 10 hit every year for 30 years,
and the most number one albums, gold albums, and platinum albums,
in the history of country music, George Strait.
I'm Mike Slater, Bill O'Reilly with your message today.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update,
message of the day.
On this Monday, let's talk Vice President Kamala Harris.
So Politico did a poll.
Politico leans left.
It's a website of almost 4,000 registered voters in the USA.
That's a big crew.
And the sample is fair.
39% Democrat, 37, Republican, Independent, 24.
Question number one, do you have a favorable impression of Kamala Harris?
42% say yes, they like her.
52% don't like her.
Okay, 2% have never heard of Kamala Harris.
Where are those people?
I want to go to that beach.
Second question, in your opinion.
how likely is it that Kamala Harris would win an election for president likely 34 not likely 57 don't know nine next question in your opinion would Kamala Harris make a good president yes 40 percent that's democrats across the board no 51 don't know nine final question in your opinion should Joe Biden replace Kamala Harris for vice president yes
36. No, 39. Don't know 26. So here's a problem with Kamala Harris. She can't speak in a
cogent way. That's it. She may be brilliant. I don't know, but she can't speak. She says
the same thing over and over and then she giggles. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by
writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at
Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. Scott Banning, Tucson,
Arizona. Hey, Bill. I always enjoy your episodes where you report the U.S. presidential
betting odds overseas. Okay, Trump is the favorite in England. You can bet on the presidential
race in England, not in the United States. The illegal here. So Ladbroke is the big
betting house in London. They got Trump a pretty big favorite right now.
over Biden. John Gennon, New Orleans, Louisiana. I remember when Trump is running in 20,
promised if he were reelected, he would use his second term to slash federal spending.
I hope he still plans to keep his word. I'm not sure. The military really needs to be upgraded
as far as ships, planes, it's going to cost an unbelievable amount of money. So he'll cut Trump will,
some of the social spending, but the military is the big spending.
It's not going to be nearly what Biden is.
Biden's a record spending of all time.
But I don't know if Trump's that invested in it.
He will boost the military.

I've watched you on the NOSPN News for quite some time.
Feel it's a breath of fresh air compared to the mainstream media.
I have a question.
I get extremely frustrated watching these congressional hearings with Fauci,
and Merrick Garland, nothing seems to happen. Will they ever get jail time? No, they're not going to
get jail time. It's politics. What could you charge Fauci with? What could you charge Garland with?
I mean, you'd have to launch a massive investigation, and the Biden administration is not going to do
that. Trump wouldn't even do it. Trump could have lost a big investigation into what happened
with Russian collusion, all that, but he didn't. So nothing will happen. This is all.
letting you know who these people are.
And that's the worthiness of it.
In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
249 years ago today, a group of American patriots were defeated at the Battle of Bunker Hill.
Despite that loss, the rag-tag militia was able to inflict big casualties.
against the well-trained British Army. Here is the story. In the aftermath of the battles of
Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts, British troops moved to secure the countryside
surrounding Boston. One thousand Americans fortified themselves on top of bunker and breeds
hill located on the Charlestown Peninsula. On June 17, 1775, the English attacked their
position. Though the Redcoats outnumbered the Patriots two to one, the Americans
withstood the initial barrage. The English retreated, regrouped, attacked a second time.
The militia itself scattered. The skirmish lasted no more than two hours, but the result
was gruesome. By the end of the battle, Patriot gunfire had killed 300 British troops,
Another 800 wounded. More than 100 Americans perished, 500 wounded. One hero, the conflict, was a former
slave named Salem Poor, where it purchased his own freedom just months earlier. Though the
Americans lost the Battle of Bunker Hill, it proved the Continental Army could inflict significant
damage against the British. Back in London, King George realized war with the colonies would be a long
bloody, expensive affair. In early July, General George Washington arrived in Cambridge, Massachusetts
a few miles from Bunker Hill. He assumed command of the newly formed Continental Army.
And here's something else you might not know. A future president of the United States
watched the battle of Bunker Hill from a nearby plateau. The terrifying, the terrifying,
residents of Boston viewed the skirmish from the tops of buildings and churches.
And the crowd included a seven-year-old boy named John Quincy Adams,
who watched the conflict alongside his mother, Abigail.
Back after this.
Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines.
