Bill O'Reilly here. Thursday, June 18, 2020. You are listening to The O'Reilly Update. Here's what's happening across our nation. A former Atlanta police officer faces the death penalty for the killing of Richard Brooks. Meanwhile, some Atlanta cops call in sick revolting. New cases of the virus hit record highs in six states. The NBA unveils his plan to bring back
pro basketball? Is it time for the Dixie Chicks to change their name? Also, I had American police
may backlash against the anti-cop movement. But first, authorities in Georgia, charging Garrett
Rolf with 11 counts in the killing of Richard Brooks, including felony murder. If convicted,
Mr. Rolfe could get the death penalty. Meantime, a number of Atlanta police officers called in
last night. I will deal with this in my upcoming commentary. The Department of Justice
targeting social media companies like Facebook and Twitter issuing new proposals that would
end the legal protections for content published on those sites. The platforms could face big
penalties for posts that promote cyber-stalking, terrorism, defamation, or child exploitation.
Six states now reporting the highest level of COVID infection since the contagion began.
began, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Nevada, confirming the biggest single-day
spikes on record. 19 other states seeing cases rise since reopening in May. COVID has killed
more than 120,000 Americans in less than four months. The National Basketball Association releasing
a 113-page plan to bring basketball back by July. Twenty-two teams will relocate to
Disney World in Orlando. After a mandatory quarantine period, players will be sequestered in three
hotels. The athletes will be allowed to roam around the properties, but they will stay primarily
isolated. The Dixie Chicks could be the next act to change their name. Just days after another
trio, Lady Antebellum, became Lady A, users on social media are targeting the
chicks. According to a writer for variety, the word Dixie conjures up a time and place of bondage
for black people. Farewell, Dixie Cups. In a moment, will American police revolt?
Right back with it. Edward and his wife, Margaret, were looking forward to retirement.
Edward started having serious health issues a few years before he turned 65 and had to take an
unplanned early retirement. The loss of income and medical bills meant Edward could not afford
his expenses, including the premiums on a $1 million life insurance policy. Faced with lapsing
their policy for nothing, Edward and Margaret turned to Coventry Direct and were able to sell
the policy for $130,000. If you own a life insurance or term
policy that you don't need or can't afford, Coventry Direct can help you receive an average
of four times more cash than you'd get from your life insurance carrier. You can even sell a
portion of your existing policy and still maintain coverage with no future premium
obligations. See if you qualify. Please call 1-800-8883791. Or visit Coventryhelpseniors.com.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update message of the day. As you know, there is a tremendous anti-police
movement going on. Black Lives Matter, the organization, driving that on the streets. Many in the media
driving it on television. As we just report it,
A number of Atlanta police officers called in sick last night to protest this situation,
specifically the indictment of Garrett Rolf, an Atlanta police officer, for murder.
In a very disturbing exposition last night, CNN began trying the fatal shooting of Richard Brooks on television, if you can believe it.
This was gross. One man is dead. Another man may be put to death because of this situation. This needs to be
tried in a court of law, not on a stupid CNN television program. How irresponsible is this?
Now, I know they did it with O.J. Simpson. I understand that. But right now, it's white hot in America.
white hot and you're bringing in people to say whether this Atlanta police officer,
Garrett Rolfe, is guilty of murder? You're doing that on television? What the hell is going on
in this country? There are more than 800,000 American law enforcement officers. I will tell you
that 99% of them condemn police violence toward anyone, blacks, whites, Asians, Hispanics,
Native America, toward anyone.
Most cops are good, and they don't want to see George Floyd killed on the street by a police
officer.
But this insane defund the police, Black Lives Matter calling them pigs, threatening police officers,
this has got to stop.
And many officers themselves have had enough.
So I'm going to predict here in New York City where I am with the department of 40,000,
they're going to lose between 5 and 10,000 officers in the next couple of years.
People are going to put in their papers for retirement.
They're going to walk away.
They're going to get other jobs and other departments because in New York City,
the mayor hates the police and the governor does not back them up.
And the district attorney, Cy Vance, won't prosecute criminal.
even when the evidence is right on his desk. He's refusing to prosecute. You think officers are
going to put their lives on the line for a system like this? The NYPD has driven down murder
from about 3,000 a year to 300 a year. A colossal success. And yet now they're bad. You're going to
see across America a rise in murder like we haven't seen since the crack epidemic.
You're going to see that happen fast. Cities like Minneapolis, Seattle, Los Angeles, where the cops are spit upon, not backed up by the mayor and the local government, those cities are going to get out of control fast. You wait and see.
This anti-police movement, again, led by the organization Black Lives Matter and TV media. This is a disgrace.
I'm Bill O'Reilly and I approve that message by writing it. For more news analysis, please visit

more than 44 million Americans have lost their jobs. The Fed just warned the recession may get worse.
So I recommend you consider gold and silver. And the only company I recommend is American
Hartford Gold Group. I trust them. I've done business with them. I recommend them. They sell
gold and silver delivered right to your door or inside your IRA. And they make it easy. So please
call them right now. And make sure you tell them that Bill sent you. And they will give you,
ready, $1,500 of free silver on your first order. Since I've been recommending American Hartford
gold group, gold is up more than 30%. So don't wait. Call 877-44-44-G-O-L-D or text gold to 65-5-3-2. Again,
that's 877-44-4-4-4-gold or text gold to 655-3-2. Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you
might not know. They say it's your birthday. Paul McCartney, 7,000.
78 years old today. The former Beatle has one of music's longest and most successful careers
writing more than 500 songs. I bet you've heard a few of them. Here's a look at the life of Sir
Paul McCartney. Music is D&A. McCartney's father was an accomplished jazz pianist. He bought Paul
a trumpet for his 14th birthday, but it was quickly exchanged for an electric bass guitar.
A year later, he and John Lennon formed the group Quarrymen. Soon they ditched the
pompadores from mop tops. Beetlemania made U.S. landfall in February 1964. The boys played a few
tunes on the Ed Sullivan show, sparking a national sensation. The Beatles broke up just six
years later, after 20 number one hits. But Paul McCartney wasn't unemployed for long.
He founded wings in the 1970s with his first wife, Linda. The band called he quits in
1981, but not before recording a few great songs, Jet Live and Let Die, band on the Run. The last
one grabbed a Grammy. An impressive career, but Paul McCartney still wasn't ready to hang up his
base since the departure of wings. He's been knighted, played the Super Bowl halftime show,
performed at the Olympics, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, got remarried
twice, and he's collaborated with everyone from Elvis Costello to Kanye West. And if you think
McCartney belongs just to Britain, you're wrong. He is an honorary,
NYPD detective, and his current wife is a former board member at the MTA in New York City.
And here's something else you might not know. Sir Paul's production company owns the rights to more
than 3,000 songs, including Buddy Holly's entire catalog, and music from Broadway blockbusters
like Guys and Dolls and Greece, not to mention the timeless Beatles tunes. McCarty is rock and roll's
wealthiest musician, estimate $1.2 billion. Blimey. Back after this. When you venture outside,
