Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It's Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. Here's this afternoon today in America.
debate time. Iowa poll, Maryland Partons, and AI Arches. That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here
with your message of the day of the first. The first debate between Trump and Biden. This will be the
first debate between Biden and Trump next Thursday, June 27th on CNN. It'll be in Atlanta, no studio
audience. The microphones will be muted when their speaking time has elapsed. 90 minutes to commercial
breaks. They can't use any props. Can't have any notes brought on stage.
with them hosted amazingly by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
It's just amazing that these are the best two people we can find in the country.
In Trump's Bronx rally a couple weeks ago, he said of the debate,
various people on CNN headed up by fake Tapper thought I was going to reject it.
I don't want to do it.
Then Biden would say, oh, I offered a debate, but he wouldn't do it.
So they said, we want to have a debate.
I'll take it.
And then they said, well, we want table so you can sit down.
I said, no, I don't want to sit down for the debate.
We're going to be standing for the debate.
Speaking of the election, in what has been a rock-solid poll for the last two presidential elections,
Trump is over Biden in Iowa by 18 points.
The worst demographic for Joe Biden is under 35.
Only 15% of those voters approve of Joe Biden's job performance.
Now, this isn't about winning Iowa.
Of course, Trump's going to win Iowa.
It's about the Midwest.
What does that dominated performance right now mean for Minnesota and Wisconsin?
The governor of Maryland just pardoned 175,000 people who have convictions for marijuana.
He described it as the most sweeping state-level pardon in any state in American history.
Now, it's worth noting that many marijuana convictions are people pleading down from bigger charges.
So they'll get arrested for something more serious and they just plead guilty to the marijuana charge.
And that's what they ultimately got charged with.
But that's not why they got arrested in the first place.
The governor said it doesn't erase the fact that black Marylanders were three.
times more likely to be arrested for cannabis than white Marylanders before legalization.
McDonald's tested artificial intelligence drive-through technology at 100 restaurants, and they're
bailing on it for now. And they may be looking for another company other than IBM for their next
shot at it. Apparently orders were wrong too often, and artificial intelligence could not
recognize certain accents or decipher between the speaker and background noise. I'm Mike Slater
from the podcast, Politics by Faith.
Hope you can join us over there.
One of these days, Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Tuesday, the presidential debate coming up June 27th,
it's a major exposition in history, not just the election of 2024.
The United States is in decline, and both political parties blame the other.
The media has allied itself with the Democrats in a stunning display of press corruption.
Fairness and factual reporting are largely gone.
Enter CNN, the debate host.
It is in serious economic trouble, lowest ratings in its long history.
The CNN moderators, Dana Bash, Jake Tapper, both loathe,
Donald Trump. There's no debate about that if you research their reporting and analysis.
So here's what we can expect. Donald Trump will face a barrage of questions about January 6th
in the 2020 election. He'll be put on the defensive from the jump. There will be few queries about
his policies. It'll be a gotcha situation. President Biden will have memorized answers prepared.
The only question is, can he actually remember those.
memorized answers. Former President Trump will propose a doomsday scenario. If Biden is reelected,
Biden will say democracy will be gone if Trump is elected. So even though little will actually
be learned, the debate is important. No matter what happens, both sides will claim victory. You know
that. Trump could win big if he blends facts with his vitriol. He has a record to run on.
Somebody should remind him. My prediction is,
Joe will get through it, but barely.
And both candidates will say the same thing over and over.
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.

Hey, Mr. O, we watch the no-spin news faithfully.
I do however take exception to you advising.
listeners and viewers that if they cannot pick Biden and Trump, they shouldn't vote.
I know you realize how important the right to vote is. Of course they do. But this election is
so important that if you can't pull the lever for Trump, don't pull a lever for Biden.
That's just assuring destruction. And I didn't say don't vote. I said vote down ticket.
But I stand by that. And you pull a lever of Biden.
You're inflicting pain on you and your family,
because that's going to be horrible if he gets reelected.
Sean Nelson, Braden in Florida, Hunter Biden is a sacrificial lamb.
Now that Hunter will go to jail, it pays away for Trump going to jail.
Sean, I got a break to you, man.
Hunter Biden's not going to jail, and neither is Donald Trump.
They're not going.
Wayne Hubs, Phoenix, Arizona.
So if the contempt citation against Merrick Garland,
is not going anywhere because the oppression of branch, then why are Navarro and Bannon going to jail?
Because Merrick Garland has presidential protection.
Remember, Joe Biden has issued executive privilege over the audio tape of him being interviewed by her.
So Garland said, I can't release it.
Navarro and Bannon on their own.
It's no protection.
All three defied the congressional subpoena.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
Two hundred twelve years ago today,
the USA declared war against Great Britain
for the second time.
What started as a minor beef over maritime rights soon became the North American Theater
of England's battle against Napoleon of France.
Here is the story.
In the early 19th century, Britain was embroiled in armed conflict with France to diminish Napoleon.
London cut off his ability to trade with the United States.
The Royal Navy began seizing American vessels, even forcing some U.S. sailors into the
British Navy. That was called impressment. On June 17th, 1812, Congress adopted a resolution of war
against London. President James Madison signed it. The Americans launched a three-point invasion of
Canada, then part of the British Empire. Each campaign failed. In 1814, with Napoleon's
empire collapsing, the British were able to allocate more military resources.
to the American War. On August 24th, the English rated Washington, D.C., burned the White House,
Capitol, and other federal buildings. The tide of the war turned in September. After a series
of decisive victories in upstate New York, the English retreated to Canada. The U.S. and U.K.
signed a peace treaty on Christmas Eve, 1814. In total, 15,000 Americans died, 10,000 Brits killed.
And here's something else you might not know. The Royal Navy stationed along the Gulf Coast
totally unaware that a peace treaty had been reached. Two weeks after the armistice, U.S.
forces under the command of Andrew Jackson defended the city of New Orleans. The battle was the
greatest American victory in the War of 1812, and it happened after the conflict was over.
