Starting point is 00:00:40 Thank you, Bill. It is Monday, June 2nd, 2025. Here's this happening today in America. Terrorist attack in Boulder. Ukraine strikes Russia. Iran's nuclear potential and the number of workers testing positive for drugs hits a 20-year high. We have that. And then I'll be back with your message of the day. regarding U.S. Steel staying in Pittsburgh. It's coming up. But first, according to the White House Director of Counterterrorism, Sebastian Gorka, he said the perpetrator of a terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, where there was a gathering to support Israel, when a man or male named Mohamed Sabri Solomon threw Molotov cocktails into the crowd while yelling free Palestine. Six victims, ages 66 to 78. The FBI is investigating the attack. The FBI is investigating the
Starting point is 00:01:30 attack as terrorism. This report is from Bill Malugin at Fox News that the Boulder terrorist suspect is an Egyptian national in the U.S. illegally as a visa overstay who entered during the Biden administration. He entered LAX on August 27th of 2022. Ukraine launched a massive drone strike against the Russian Air Force. According to officials in Kiev, the attack destroyed more than 40 long-range bombers deep inside of Russian territory. The attack comes as peace talks between Ukraine and Moscow continue, President Silenzi said we're doing everything we can to protect our independence, our state, and our people. A report from the Wall Street Journal finds Iran has enough weapons-grade uranium to produce 10 nuclear bombs. U.S. officials said it could take
Starting point is 00:02:15 Tehran less than two weeks to convert the uranium into warheads. The White House press secretary released a statement following this report and said, quote, President Trump has made it clear that Iran can never obtain a nuclear bomb. It's in their best interest to accept the deal that we are proposing. The percentage of American employees testing positive for narcotics hit the highest level in two decades. 4% of workers failed a mandatory drug test last year. That figures up 50% compared to 2019. Many companies no longer even screen for drugs like marijuana.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Pod can now be consumed legally in 18 states. Drug and alcohol abuse is responsible for 75% of all workplace injuries and 90% of, of workplace fatalities. Coming up next in the message of the day, we'll talk about U.S. Steel, remaining in Pittsburgh. And what this proves that Americans are not just economic units and this country is not just a GDP. And then we'll be back with something you might not know about the geography of Canada as it relates to President Trump's new Golden Dome missile defense system.
Starting point is 00:03:20 It's going to cost $125 billion and he would like Canada to chip in a little bit. And when you know this geography, that request makes even more sense. It's all coming up. I just mailchimp my marketing. You mailchimped your what? I maelchimped my marketing with AI to create an effective marketing campaign in minutes. No, mailchimp and way. Yes, mailchimp in way.

Starting point is 00:04:04 Now it's time for the O'Reilly update, message of the day. Donald Trump announced a deal made with Nippone's steel in Japan with U.S. steel that will keep U.S. steel in America. Trump said it will be controlled by the United States, otherwise I wouldn't have made the deal. I listened to a local CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh report on this news, and they interviewed the mayor of the town of one of these mills, who said we saved steel in Pittsburgh,
Starting point is 00:04:27 and we saved the legacy that all of our forefathers worked for. They're all looking down on us saying thank you. And then another steelworker said, I'm a third generation steelworker. I wish my father were here. He retired in 1975. And I'm going to retire soon too. A proud steelworker.
Starting point is 00:04:47 America is more than a GDP. And people are more than their net worth. And life is more than a spreadsheet. And you are more than a single economic unit to be moved or replaced, according to whatever makes a higher GDP. We've had a very anti-human worldview these last few decades, where we're not humans with souls, we're merely economic units that we must maximize.
Starting point is 00:05:08 And if you can't maximize it, then dump them. Throw them away. Move it to China. We must reject this anti-human instinct. But when you remove the soul, you go down a very anti-human road. And the atheist technocrats have no concept of the soul. So we should be very careful of their scheme.
Starting point is 00:05:27 So we recognize the soul. We get that right. Then what? Well, then we are members of a family. Now, family is more than just husband, wife, and kids. And there's a bit of a split here. Most people go down the road of saying, oh, yes, family's bigger than that. It's, you know, aunts, uncles, close family, friends. No, no. By bigger than husband, wife, and kids, I mean going back and forward. Family extends backwards to ancestors and forward to posterity. This is what the mayor of that town outside Pittsburgh, and the steelworker were both referencing. When they were asked about the steel mill, they went back to their family. They went back to their ancestors, back in time.
Starting point is 00:06:09 That's such a beautiful instinct these two men had. So it answers the question, what is a nation? A nation is a group of souls with strong families, connected to the past, mindful of the future, connected with a shared heritage and history and beliefs and values. That's a nation. Let me say it again. A group of souls with strong families connected to the past, mindful for the future, connected with a shared heritage, history, beliefs, and values.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Now, if there's a force that wants to undo this or erode this or attack this, what would they do? Well, you attack all of them first. In our modern society, there's no concept of a soul. Second, you attack the family. Third, you say the ancestors of you people are racist and awful. Then you force multiculturalism and say we're all a bunch of global citizens. That has been force-fed on us the last 50 years or so.
Starting point is 00:07:08 And it's over. Is keeping U.S. steel in Pittsburgh on paper alone? If you just look at the spreadsheets, is keeping U.S. steel in Pittsburgh the best economic decision? if your goal is maximum efficiency and maximum profit in a utopian planet where we're all the same and we're one big happy global economic zone, is U.S. Steel and Pittsburgh the best economic decision? Probably not. I don't know. I mean, whatever made Pittsburgh, the ideal location to make steel in the first place is probably no longer super relevant or relevant as it was in the past. So, Sayonara, Steel Mill in Pittsburgh. Who needs you? But if there's more to
Starting point is 00:07:46 life and more to a country and more to a town and more to a family and more to a soul than just economic efficiency, you keep the plant in Pittsburgh. Mike Slater filling in for Bill O'Reilly, something you might not know. Next. In the time it takes us to say we're using Folgers instant coffee seamlessly blended with water and ice, a splash of whatever kind of milk is your thing. And got to get that caramel drizzle. All to make a toasty, roasty, caramel iced coffee. You could be enjoying it. Every damn sip of it. Damn right. It's Fulger's instant. I'm Mike Slater. Filling in for Bill O'Reilly. Now it's time for something you might not know. I have a fun fact about Canada here for you. The background here is that Trump is moving forward
Starting point is 00:08:42 this golden dome missile defense system. They think it'll cost $175 billion, and the reconciliation bill has $25 billion for it already. Now, Trump wrote on Truth Social, he said, I told Canada, which very much wants to be a part of our fabulous Golden Dome system, that it will cost $61 billion if they remain a separate but unequal nation. But it will cost $0 if they become our cherished 51st state. They are considering the offer. Now, I chuckled at that, of course, when I first read it. But then I learned this fact about Canada. Think of a map of U.S. and Canada and our border.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Or let me put it like this. If you were asked to draw America and Canada and then draw the border, everyone would get it wrong. I know I think of our border with Canada as a straight line, but it's not. It is from Seattle to Minnesota. But then that border dips south. Very south, so south, that if you kept drawing that line, the one that goes from Seattle
Starting point is 00:09:49 to Minnesota, if you kept drawing it straight, what percentage of Canada's population is south of that line? 70%. 70% of Canada's population is south of that line if you kept keeping it straight. Now if you made another line even further to the south, 50% of the population of Canada is below that line. 50% of the population of Canada lives further south than the state of Washington. The southernmost position of Canada
Starting point is 00:10:22 is further south than parts of California. And I'm not getting... Look at the map, you'll see it. The furthest most southern portion of Canada is further south than 16 U.S. states. It's more south than Massachusetts,
Starting point is 00:10:40 Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota. How about this one? More Americans live north of Canada's southernmost point than Canadians live in this boundary. Now, this could just be a fun, you know, geographic quirk, a little fun trivia question. But when we're talking missile defense shield systems,
Starting point is 00:10:59 do you guys want in or not? Because almost all of your country is further south than a lot of America. So if you want in, that's great, but it's definitely going to cost you. Or you become a U.S. territory. and you can have it all for free. The best coast just got better.
