Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It is Tuesday, June 20th, 2020.
Here's what's happening today in America.
Trapped underwater.
A majority agree with Trump.
RFK censored and Ireland annoying the world with their beer.
That's all coming up.
Then Bill will be here with your message of the day.
But first, a miniature submarine.
that carries tourists and went to explore the wreckage of the Titanic has gone missing.
The support ship lost contact with the vessel one hour and 45 minutes into the descent.
It can keep people alive inside.
It has enough oxygen for up to 96 hours.
The U.S. Coast Guard is looking for the vessel 900 miles off the coast of Cape Cod.
Five people are on board.
It costs $250,000 to join the two-man crew.
A majority of registered voters believe the Trump indictment
is politically motivated.
45% said it was valid.
55% said it was politically motivated.
56% believe this is election interference
by the Department of Justice.
In other Trump news, a federal judge
issued a protective order blocking Trump
from being able to release any of the evidence
that prosecutors are set to hand over
to his defense team as a part of the discovery process.
So will we ever know what was in those documents?
That was such a problem.
It required a raid of Mar-a-Lago and this prosecution.
RFK Jr. has 16% of the support among Democrat voters,
and Marianne Williamson has another 8% of Democratic support.
But what of RFK Jr's stances as being anti-vaccine?
He was recently on Jordan Peterson's podcast,
where he said that the chemicals in the water could be a part of the forces
that are turning many kids transgender.
He talked about a chemical atrazine that when given to frogs, about 10% of the frogs will turn
into fully viable females.
He says if it's doing that to frogs, there's a lot of other evidence that it's doing it to
human beings as well.
Well, that interview was taken off of YouTube.
Jordan Peterson says this is election interference from YouTube.
They, once again, get to decide what misinformation is.
Ireland passed a law that said on every container of an alcoholic beverage, every single
container, it has to have big red letters about the risk of liver disease and cancer
from drinking alcohol.
So it'll be like the warning label on cigarettes, which currently has to be 50% of the front
and the back of the packaging.
I'm Mike Slater.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Tuesday yesterday was the federal holiday of June 10th, which celebrates the last slaves being freed in 1865.
The Union Army was sent to Galvez and Texas to make sure emancipation orders were obeyed throughout Texas.
So this is a fitting holiday now because African Americans deserve to have their legacy known by their countrymen,
and many U.S. citizens are clueless about the debilitating aspects of slavery.
As you may know, I do not believe the U.S.A. is defined by slavery as that is simply false.
It's propaganda.
Also, by creating an industry of African-American grievance, bitterness, and hopelessness
are given a major boost.
Yes, it is tougher for blacks to pursue happiness in this country, but that gap has
closed dramatically across the board.
In many companies and colleges, African-Americans receive maximum opportunity.
The goal of the United States should be a fair situation.
society that is respectful to all people of goodwill. Bigots, of course, reject that. And so do
the race hustlers who use historical atrocities for personal gain. I mean, how despicable is that?
They call themselves woke or progressive or whatever, but they are exploiting suffering and actually
increasing it. So I salute African Americans on the June 19th federal holiday. It is needed.

Let's get to the mail. Michael Vedro, Sunnyside, New York, that's in Queens.
President Trump will not go with a plea deal, O'Reilly. So suggest the Department is clearly
biased and corrupt. President Trump will ultimately win. Okay, you might be right, Michael.
I say in my column that I think if the appeals about the presidential act, the espionage act,
fail, I don't see Donald Trump sitting in a criminal courtroom.
And some of those charges are so weak, they're going to get thrown out.
But in the end, there'll be two or three.
If he please, and there's no jail time attached to it, I think you might do that.
But you may be right.
Mary Zillhardt, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Bill, how can the prosecution prove a case about mishandling classified documents without providing
the documents? The jury can't see the documents because they're classified. They didn't present
anything. The grand jury is not a sitting jury. All right? So the federal government, Jack Smith,
the prosecutor, went into a grand jury in Washington and said, this is what we have. It didn't
back it up. And they said, okay, we'll indict him. That's the grand jury system. Now, he
had to provide some kind of backup, but he didn't have to provide the documents. He will in
a criminal court, and they'll be redacted, so it'll take out a lot of this stuff. But a grand
jury is different than a regular jury. James, I fail understand your take, O'Reilly. President's
possession of documents seem to remove the unclassified status, as I and most former presidents
understand the law. This isn't about that. It's about he didn't give them back when the National
archives asked. As you point out correctly, every former president has classified information,
but when the archive says you've got to give it back and you don't, that's why. In a moment,
something you might not know.

you something you might not know. 48 years ago today, one of the scariest films in history
debuted in Los Angeles. The plot featured a New England police chief and his crusade against
a 25-foot great white shark. Here is the story of Jaws. Based on a novel, The Shark Flick was the
first major motion picture from director Steven Spielberg. Production was a nightmare. The robotic shark
named Bruce routinely malfunctioned and once sank to the bottom of the Atlantic. The movie
premiered on June 20th, 1975, the film sparked a global hysteria surrounding sharks,
especially great whites. According to the Florida program for shark research, there was a general
consensus at the start of the 20th century that sharks rarely attacked humans. In the early
1900s, there were even rewards offered to people who could prove they were bitten by a shark.
Few prizes were given out. That idea changed.
during World War II, when American sailors on the USS Indianapolis were forced to ditch
into shark-infested waters of the Pacific Ocean, and many were gruesomely killed.
Decades later, Great Whites began appearing with more regularity, driven by an exploding
seal population. Great Whites returned to New England and Long Island, in record.
numbers. Cape Cod, the actual location of Spielberg's fictional town in Jaws, is now the summer
home for more than 100 great white sharks. The region's unique geography makes it one of the few
places in the world to witness sharks from the beach. But beware the mingling of humans and sharks
along the shoreline is risky. Last year, 64 unprovoked shark attacks worldwide, five fatal.
So if you plan on swimming this summer, you might want to not go in the water at dusk or dawn.
That's when sharks feed.
And if you see a seal, get out of the water.
There could be a great white looking for a nice meal.
Make sure it is not you.
