President Trump heads to the United Kingdom and the insults have already begun. Legendary singer Elton John, not a big fan of Brexit. Immigration chaos continues at the U.S. border. during World War II. Iconic reformer Elton John not too pleased with Britain's impending divorce from the EU, telling a crowd at a recent performance, quote, I am a European. I am not a stupid colonial, imperialist, English, idiot, unquote. The songwriter's life and catalog are highlighted in a recent film Rocket Man that opened in theaters across the globe last Friday and did not do very well at the box office. To the border where U.S. officials now believe 9 and 10, migrants seeking asylum failed to appear at their schedule court days. A pilot program tracking new immigrants confirmed, 87% of those released by Homeland Security in recent months ignored their legal hearings. The feds have relocated more than 190,000 immigrants across the country

since December 2018. Ben and Jerry's ice cream poised to release a controversial new flavor. The company wants to introduce a marijuana-based product should the FDA approve, which is doubtful. President Trump's so-called feud with the late Senator John McCain was back in the headlines last week. After the commander-in-chief was accused by the media of instructing the Navy to hide the warship USS John McCain during the president's visit to Japan. initial reports in the Washington Post, MSNBC, and others blamed Mr. Trump, suggesting his motives

were childish or even unprecedented. The Wall Street Journal broke the story saying the president wanted the destroyer, quote, out of sight. Some media even reported the administration was barring American sailors aboard the McCain from taking part in official events featuring the president. The senator's daughter, Megan McCain, called President Trump a, quote, child who will always be deeply threatened by the greatness of my dad's incredible life, unquote. But the truth of this matter is a bit different than all the reporting. President Trump spoke with reporters outside the White House shortly after the story broke,

flat out denying he had any idea what they were talking about. As it turns out, a single White House staffer made the request to the Navy after scouting locations for the President's visit to Japan. According to Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, a 24-year-old employee saw the warship, knew the President's feelings about Senator McCain, and made the request without the President's approval. The Navy confirmed the correspondence, saying they were asked by one person to minimize the boat's visibility of possible during Trump's visit. The boat was never moved, remaining in normal formation with other U.S. ships. Of course, the media still hasn't corrected the initial report or stated the actual facts surrounding the so-called scandal, as I have just stated to you. them, President Trump is always a villain in their media theme park. Just a few weeks ago,

multiple outlets reported the president was preparing to deploy 100,000 U.S. troops to the Middle East. It responds to growing threats from Iran. Not true. President Trump calling the story another example of fake news. The list of phony stories surrounding President Trump grows longer and longer. He removed a bust of Martin Luther King Jr. from the Oval Office. He instituted a Muslim ban. He caged children at the border. He worked with WikiLeaks to steal Hillary Clinton's emails. Absurd doesn't even begin to cover it. It's no wonder millions of Americans are cutting the court on cable TV or canceling their newspaper subscriptions. Will these media outlets ever take one minute to explain more than two years of sensationalized reporting surrounding the Mueller

situation? I wouldn't count on it. It's media malpractice, and it makes this journalist very sad and angry. Americans need honest reporting. According to a new study published by Pew Research, employment at America's newsrooms is down 23% in 10 years. That's an amazing statistic. More than 27,000 media jobs have disappeared since 2009. In 2019, the entire press industry consists of just 90,000 people. Let's compare that with some other American economic sectors. There are more than 13 million people working in the U.S. healthcare industry. Two million work in the American movie business.

2.6 million are employed by insurance companies. 13 million are in manufacturing. The editor of the New York Times predicts most local newspapers will be gone within the next five years. So what's causing the rapid decline of America's newsrooms? The answer is simple. It's all about money. CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, Washington Post, their content is no longer driven by honesty. It is driven by money. The bosses are making a choice. They know attacking Donald Trump 24 hours a day, every day, is good for short-term business. But what happens when President Trump leaves office? For many in the media, ratings come first.

Journalism and afterthought. This is fueled a rapid decline in loyalty among many Americans. Studies show 45% of us think the media has gotten more biased in the past 25 years. We cite fake news and anonymous sources for our distrust. Twice as many young adults, ages 18 to 34, said partisan bias was a major factor in their lack of trust. The survey also said people would tune in or subscribe should media outlets, quote, verify facts before reporting, unquote. With the previous two years of President Trump and the coverage surrounding his administration, I wouldn't count on that happening anytime soon.
