Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update, sponsored by Tax Network USA. America's number one choice for tax resolution. Please go to TNUSA.com slash bill or call 800-245-6000. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thank you, Bill. It is Thursday, June 6th, 2024. Here's what's happening today in America. A legal win for Trump, but this will be taken away. Two more whistleblowers and the 80th anniversary of D-Day. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
Starting point is 00:00:38 But first, a legal win for Donald Trump. The Georgia Court of Appeals has paused the conspiracy case against Trump until 2025. The court said that the case is paused until a panel of judges rules on whether Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis should be disqualified. It's just amazing that they bungled that so bad. amazing actually. Inept people doing corrupt things will fail eventually. Also worth noting that the case against Trump in Florida, no trial date has been set yet on that. That's the classified documents case. That will be well after the election, if ever. Some say that as a felon, Trump or excuse me, justice impacted person. Trump won't even be able to vote for himself.
Starting point is 00:01:19 Not true, according to Ron DeSantis. He said, given the absurd nature of the New York prosecution of Trump, this would be an easy case to qualify for restoration of rights. per the Florida clemency board, which I chair. The bottom line is that Donald Trump's vote this November will be one of millions that demonstrate Florida is now a solid Republican state. Two more former employees of Boeing and other key contractors have told the New York Post that despite the death of two whistleblowers within the last two months, they're more determined than ever to tell the truth about the dangerous practices at Boeing.
Starting point is 00:01:53 These are just two that have gone public of at least 20 whistleblowers who were in the process of making their concerns public. One of the whistleblowers said he pushed back almost every day at serious safety and quality issues that he found on planes that had left the factory floor. A Boeing spokesperson said, Boeing takes very seriously any allegation of improper work or unethical behavior. Today is the 80th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy
Starting point is 00:02:20 to liberate the world. The ceremony will be held today at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial where 9,387 immaculately tended graves reside. 133,000 troops from America, England, and Canada landed the beaches on D-Day. There's not many of these heroes left. On Memorial Day, I met a World War II service member at a Memorial Day service in my town. My kids got to shake his hand. And I asked him what lessons he wanted me to teach my kids about his service.
Starting point is 00:02:49 He said, love your country and love your neighbor. Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver. Starting point is 00:04:03 Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Thursday, President Biden looked pretty shaky at the podium Tuesday while explaining his executive order limiting border intrusions. The order will work, but that's not what bothers this correspondent the most. because I had no expectations that the order would work. What is of the greatest concern is the president himself. He slurred his words, talked too quickly without pausing for emphasis, and stared at the teleprompter so hard I thought his eyes would glow.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Leaving the stage, he walked like a toddler. As for Mr. Biden's border play, it's an obvious campaign thing. For years, he told the nation he could not regulate the border, without congressional approval. Then, presto, he regulates the border without congressional approval. The truth is, the progressives who control Mr. Biden do not want any inhibitions on immigration. We saw that Tuesday when the ACLU, now a socialist outfit, immediately threatened a lawsuit to block Biden's EO.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Now, the reason the far-left wants on federal immigration is to destroy the so-called white patriarchy. That's white male domination of power. The quickest way to damage that is to flood the USA with foreign nationals who may vote liberal down the line. In his current mental state, President Biden most likely does not understand the big picture, but dutifully does what he is told to do. All of this is a hideous charade. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Okay, let's go to the mail. We got Michael Scott, Wimberley, Texas. Bill, please explain how it is the former President Trump leads Biden by large margins on surveys about individual policy. Yet the polls are a dead heat. Millions of Americans do not like Donald Trump. It's it. There's nothing more to it than that. Policy, it's not even close. Susan Underwood, Delaware, Oklahoma. Democrats say Donald Trump only built 40 miles of war. Trump says he built 500. What's the truth? Okay. Donald Trump built 80 miles of wall, but repaired 372 miles. That was decaying. it up and that's more than 500 miles. See what they do? The reason that Trump didn't do more
Starting point is 00:06:59 is it couldn't get the appropriations. Okay, Pat, on the message board, my question, how will the number of asylum migrants be kept track of when they are coming into the country through different locations? Well, the Border Patrol is supposed to stop the migrants, assess their situation, go back to headquarters, put it in the computer, Then it goes to Homeland Security. That's why the executive order by Biden is ridiculous. Never going to happen. This is crazy.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Karen, I would like to know if the 10 million migrants are all getting free everything or just a 6.5 million waiting for their asylum hearing. It depends on the state. So you go to California. If you are a foreign national, you get everything. New York, everything. Thomas States, like Florida, Texas, little tough. In a moment, something you might not know.

Starting point is 00:08:44 80 years ago today, the armed forces of Great Britain, the United States and Canada launched the greatest amphibious salt in history. The battle will go down as one of the most consequential events of all time. Here is the story of D-Day. Beginning in 1939, Adolf Hitler's army began the conquest of Europe. Five years later, the Third Reich controlled 17 countries, including France, Finland, Norway, Hungary, Greece, Austria, Poland, and others. On June 6, 1944, Supreme Commander Dwight Eisenhower authorized Operation Overlord, the invasion of France. The Allies came ashore on five designated beaches in Normandy, Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword. 160,000 soldiers landed along the French coast. 5,000 ships, 13,000 planes supported the invasion. 10,000 Allied troops were
Starting point is 00:09:48 killed or wounded. Most were American. but the 12,000 Germans were dead or injured. By the end of the battle, the Allies had successfully taken the beaches. The first place to be liberated was a village of Bayou. Exile French General Charles de Gaulle visited that town one week after D-Day. It was the first time he had stepped on the continent
Starting point is 00:10:15 in four years. Three months later, all of France was liberated from tyranny. The USA and its allies then began the bloody march towards Berlin. By April 1945, Adolf Hitler was dead. The war in Europe over. And here's something else you might not know. Today, more than 9,000 U.S. soldiers are buried at the Normandy American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. All were killed in the liberation of Europe. I have been to that cemetery. It is a very emotional and moving experience. In total, 400,000 Americans perished in World War II. 50,000 are buried in France. For more amazing stories about the man who led the
