Starting point is 00:00:40 Thank you, Bill. It's Monday, March 10th, 2025. Here's this happening today in America. Resolution continued. Trudeau departed, activists deported, and Brown extended. That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, House Republicans released a stop-gap funding measure called a continuing resolution, often called a CR. to fund the government until the end of September. I talked to Congressman Chip Roy from Texas, who's a major cut spending guy, and he said this is the right path to give the president time to do what he can from the executive side,
Starting point is 00:01:13 and then they'll cut accordingly, legislatively, in September. It's a 99-page bill. There's $6 billion more spending for defense, $13 billion less for non-defense spending, and an additional $6 billion for veterans' health care. Trump wrote on Truth Social, all Republicans should vote, please, yes, next week.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Great things are coming for America, and I'm asking you all to give us a few months to get us through to September so we can continue to put the country's financial House in order. Democrats will do anything they can to shut down our government, and we can't let that happen. We have to remain united, no dissent, fight for another day when the timing is right. Very important, make America great again. Justin Trudeau is no longer the Prime Minister of Canada.
Starting point is 00:02:00 His party elected a new leader. Mark Carney, former governor of the Bank of Canada and Bank of England, is the new Prime Minister and leader of the Liberal Party. Only 150,000 Canadians voted for their new Prime Minister. It was only registered members of the Liberal Party. He won 86% of their vote. The Liberal Party is polling a little bit better in Canada since Trump said he wants to make Canada our 51st state.
Starting point is 00:02:23 In other expansion news, Trump wrote on Truth Social, the United States strongly supports the people of Greenland's right to determine their own future. We will continue to keep you safe, as we have since World War II. We're ready to invest billions of dollars to create new jobs and make you rich. And if you so choose, we welcome you to be a part of the greatest nation anywhere in the world, the United States of America. ICE arrested a Palestinian activist, Mahmoud Khalil.
Starting point is 00:02:49 He's the leader of Columbia University's encampment movement on Saturday night. But he wasn't on a student visa. He was on a green card. His wife, who's eight months pregnant and a U.S. citizen, said the U.S. government has made clear that they will use immigration enforcement as a tool to suppress speech. Miles Brown has agreed to a record contract extension, making him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Average $40 million a year for four years. $123 million of that is guaranteed. I am Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Faith.
Starting point is 00:03:27 The great Bill O'Reilly, he has your message of the day. Next. Amazon Pharmacy presents painful thoughts. 20 more minutes to kill in the pharmacy before my prescription is ready. Maybe I'll grab some deeply discounted out-of-season Halloween candy. Hmm, I never had a chocolate pumpkin with raisins before. Those were raisins, right? Next time use Amazon Pharmacy.
Starting point is 00:03:54 We deliver. And no, those were not raisins. Amazon Pharmacy. Health care just got less painful. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Monday, I am worried about something going on in America. I want to share it with you. It's called tribalism.
Starting point is 00:04:14 So if you look at the world map, there are many places where tribalism has ruined entire countries. Africa is the best example. Very difficult for people to get organized over there and develop efficient governments when everybody is fighting among themselves. And there is no hope of detente. That goes on in Africa every day in many, many countries. Well, tribalism has come to America. So we're living in an age of political hatred.
Starting point is 00:04:50 And Donald Trump is the centerpiece of, that right now, but let's face it, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, they got their share of hate, so did Bush the younger. Now, however, reasonable conversations are declining because of the media. The media spurs tribalism because they make money off of it. All you got to do is look at the table TV industry. Two of them, CNN and MSNBC, cater to the hate Trump people. One of them, Fox loves Trump. All three are marketing love and hate. That divides people. And tribalism is taking root in America. It is not good. Each person, each issue should stand on its own with independent thought. And I'd like you to think about that. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the
Starting point is 00:05:47 message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill Riley.com, name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. Dave Correa, Taunton, Massachusetts. Bill, I'm wondering two things. Are the mayors actually held responsible if found to be breaking federal law? It's not that easy. The mayors of the sanctuary cities have to be confronted with a detainment order. So, Homeland Security, you'd have to issue an order, send it to the mayor, you are to detain these individuals. Okay? If the mayor says, blank you, they're going to be arrested.
Starting point is 00:06:34 But what the mayors usually do is they don't do that. They just privately tell people don't cooperate. Second question from Dave in Massachusetts, why aren't they going after senators that give orders about not cooperating because you just can't do that. You've got to have proof they're not cooperating. Orders, if they were in writing, but these people don't do that. They know. James Bruton, Anglican, Texas, Angleton, Texas, Engleton. Bill, just finished reading, confronting the president's one of the best reads ever. Many are saying Democratic Party is leaderless, I disagree. Andrew Cuomo might be mayor of New York. Should he win? He would be in line
Starting point is 00:07:25 for President of the United States. No. Sorry, James. Never going to happen. He'll win here in New York because the current Mayor Adams is he's done, but that's it for him. He gets a little bit of of his power back, but no higher office. It's got too much in his closet. In a moment, something you might not know. Oh, tasty high note. Oh, hi, don't mind me. I'm practicing my new baritone sacks.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. 56 years ago today, a man in Memphis, Tennessee, pleaded guilty to murder. His crime assassinating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Here is a very strange story of James Earl Ray. On April 4th, 1968, King was shot dead while standing on the second-story balcony outside his motel room. Police later found a Remington rifle abandoned on a nearby sidewalk.
Starting point is 00:09:02 During the next few weeks, the gun, eyewitnesses, and fingerprints all implicated one suspect. Escapeed convict James Earl Ray. A petty criminal, Ray escaped from a Missouri prison a year earlier while serving time for armed robbery. After the assassination of Dr. King, a global manhunt began for him. On June 8th, police in the U.K. arrested Ray at a London airport. His plan was to fly into Belgium, then to the African nation of Rhodesia. At the time, Rhodesia now called Zimbabwe, was ruled by a white supremacist government. The key question all this, where did a grifter named James Earl Ray get the money to travel
Starting point is 00:09:51 all over the planet? Well, after he was apprehended, Ray came back to the USA. On March 10, 1969, he pleaded guilty to avoid the electric chair. He was sentenced to 99 years in prison. But three days later, James Earl Ray attempted to withdraw his guilty plea, claiming he was innocent and part of a larger conspiracy. And here's something else you might not know. During the 1990s, the widow and children of Martin Luther King spoke publicly in support of Ray and his theories. Family called for a new investigation about a potential conspiracy
Starting point is 00:10:31 involving the U.S. government, FBI, CIA. Over the years, the assassination has been re-examined twice by the House Select Committee, three times by the Justice Department. Each investigation ended up with the same conclusion James Earl Ray killed MLK. Now Donald Trump's Justice Department is releasing new details about King's assassination. Let's all hope the documents shed more light
Starting point is 00:10:59 on how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered. Back after this. No matter how you travel, it's good to have a plan.
