Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Monday, March 11, 2024. Here's this happening today in America.
Americans evacuated, border crash, New York City Subways, and World War II veteran getting married.
That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, the United States military conducted an overnight operation on Saturday to avoid.
evacuate American personnel from the U.S. Embassy in Haiti.
Violence kicking up there even by Haiti standards.
The country is completely lawless.
Last September, the Biden administration pledged $100 million and then another $65 million
on top of that to support the Haitian national police.
Just a couple weeks ago, the president of Haiti went to Kenya to get some support over there.
And while he was gone, these gangs, that's what they're calling them gangs, attacked
to different government sites, took over control of the airport and displaced 15,000 people.
people from their homes. They also attacked two prisons in Haiti, which led to the escape of
thousands of prisoners. Two National Guardsmen and a Border Patrol agent were killed in a
helicopter crash near the Mexican border. The helicopter crashed on Friday night in Texas.
The two National Guardsmen have been identified Chief Foreign Officer Casey Frankowski, 28 of Rensselaer,
New York, and Chief Warren Officer John Garcia, 30 of Schenectady. We're told that the helicopter
was following people who were illegally crossing into the United States when it crashed.
There's been so much crime on the New York City subway that the governor has deployed the
National Guard, and there's bag checks to get into the subway.
One of the crimes recently committed was by a 35-year-old man.
He pushed his girlfriend onto the tracks.
Both of her feet were severed off by an incoming train.
This upstanding citizen was recently put in jail for attacking a woman
and threatening to throw her child off of a fire escape during a home invasion in 2017.
The New York Police Department Transit Chief Michael Kemper said that the police arrest people
who have 50 or 100 arrests all the time.
When Harold Terens was 20 years old, he was deployed to France during World War II.
Well, he's now back in France.
He's going to be honored there as a part of their 80th anniversary celebration of the Liberation
from the Nazis. So that's wonderful. Harold's going to be a part of that celebration. He's now
100 years old. But that's not why he's going to France. He just will happen to be there.
The reason he's going to France, he's getting married. He's 100. He's marrying his fiancee,
Gian Swirlin, a much younger woman at 96. The ceremony will be in a town near those beaches
where U.S. troops landed. He said, quote, I love this girl. She's quite special. She said,
of him. He's an amazing guy. He loves me so much, and he says it. I'm Mike Slater. Bill O'Reilly

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Monday, we have legitimized extremism in America.
it's always been here. The Ku Klux Klan had to be beaten down by federal forces. U.S.
Grant was behind that. But now, because of cyberspace, because of the devices, because of
irresponsible companies, we have extremism being disguised as normalcy. If you go on
the Internet websites, you can find the most vile
hateful stuff in the world. And some Americans don't ask me why believe this stuff. But even in the
mainstream media, the corporate media, we have hateful things on display every day. Now, MSNBC is the
best example of this. That is owned by Comcast, which owns NBC News.
and NBC News produces MSNBC.
If you watch that channel, you will get a steady stream of America is evil.
The United States has always been bigoted.
Blacks don't have a chance.
Minorities don't have a chance.
White patriarchy is ruining our country.
Day in, day out, nonstop.
What are you doing, NBC?
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
I approve the message by writing it.

Then you go to killing Lincoln because that's the Civil War where everything changed in this country.
Now after that, it's up to you.

might not know.
27 years ago today, former Beatle, Paul McCartney, kneeled before the Queen of England at Buckingham
Palace.
With the swipe of a ceremonial story, the musician would henceforth be named, Sir, Paul, a knight
of the British Empire.
Here is the story.
Paul McCartney began collaborating with John Lennon when the two were teenagers in Liverpool.
Beetlemania swept the USA in February 1964 after the group appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Six years later, the Beatles broke up after having 30 hit songs.
McCartney then founded the group Wings with his first wife, Linda, but soon found himself in some legal trouble.
On January 16, 1980, the former Beatle and his band,
landed at Japan's Narita Airport.
McCartney was caught with a half pound of marijuana,
concealed in his luggage, said the singer at the time,
quote, the stuff I had was too good to flush down the toilet, unquote.
Well, McCartney was sent to a detention center on the outskirts of Tokyo.
He remained there for nine days incarcerated before being deported back.
to Britain. They don't fool around with drugs in Japan. Exactly four years later, Paul and
Linda were arrested in Barbados for buying pot. Unlike the strict sentence in Japan, officials
in the Caribbean country of Barbados slapped the musician with a $100 fine. In total, McCarty
has been arrested six times in four countries for drug possession. And here's something
else you might not know. Paul was the first Beatle to receive a knighthood, but not the last.
Exactly 20 years later, Ringo Starr was given the honor for his contribution to British culture.
Both musicians own homes in the USA and England, McCartney, remains the wealthiest entertainer in the
world. His total net worth, $1.5 billion. I met him twice. The first time he said to
me. Hi, Phil. And I replied, how you doing, Ringo? Back after this.
