Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It's Thursday, March 13th, 2025.
Here's what's happening today in America.
Deportation update, government shutdown,
Rosie self-deports, and Mom finally found.
That's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, ICE has arrested over 32,000 illegal aliens in the first 50 days.
14,000 convicted criminals, 9,800 illegals who have pending criminal charges, 1,155 suspected gang members, and 44 foreign fugitives.
If you do the math, that leaves 8,718, what they call immigration violators.
May have heard this before as collateral damage, meaning people who are not necessarily the target, but got swept up in an enforcement action.
Holman said this would happen.
He told these local jurisdictions, if you don't hand people over to out,
ice when they're in prison, they're going to go into neighborhoods and we may get other people
in the process. The acting ICE director said, Secretary Noam and I are changing the culture of ice
to one of action and accountability. The House voted for the continuing resolution to fund the
government as it is until September. Now the Democrats in the Senate hold the cards because it
needs 60 votes in the Senate. There's only 53 Republicans, so they need seven Democrats.
Senator Tim Kane, Democrat from Virginia, said Democrats had nothing to do with this bill,
and we want an opportunity to get an amendment vote or two.
So that's what we're insisting on to vote for cloture.
If the government is not funded clearly, this would be the Democrats' fault.
It's a simple continuing resolution.
Virtually nothing has changed on government spending from now until September.
I got to give some credit to Rosie O'Donnell, a celebrity who said they would move if Trump won the presidency.
And she actually did.
Of all the countries in the world, she moved to Ireland.
She said it's been heartbreaking to see what's happening politically.
It's hard for me personally as well.
It's just interesting to me that out of all the countries in the world, she chose a country that's the size of Maine, the population of Oregon, and one of the richest countries in all of Europe, and not diverse.
A reporter asked the prime minister of Ireland, who was in the White House yesterday, what you think about Rosie O'Donnell moving to Ireland, the prime minister did not know who she was.
And Trump looked at him and said, do you know you have Rosie O'Donnell?
Do you know who she is?
Now, you're better off not knowing.
A 41-year-old mother of three fell asleep driving home.
off the road in a ditch landed under a bridge.
She had serious injuries to her legs and wrist and her phone was dead.
She could hear her cars driving on the bridge above her, but no one could hear her scream.
She used a sweatshirt that she was able to dip into the water of a ditch and suck out the water.
The car crashed on a Thursday.
On Tuesday, she said she gave up hope.
But she was found by a man operating equipment for a drainage and excavation company
that was doing work off the road and spotted her car out of the corner of his eye.
Mom is recovering well.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Thursday, the Mahmoud Khalil story.
Very important.
He's a former Columbia University graduate student arrested by ICE facing deportation.
President Trump said, we've got to get him out of here.
Now, if you believe the corrupt leftist media,
Khalil is a legitimate pro-Palestian protester.
A man of conscience just speaking.
out against injustice. And he has that right. Khalil holds a green card and has been living in
New York City legally. His wife is about to give birth. But even a casual scanning of this man's
public activity shows he is an agitator, a person comfortable with a bullhorn calling for
divestment from Israel. That is legal speech in America. However, there's more.
to this story.
Receiving credentials to work or study in the USA is a privilege, not a right.
And that privilege can be withdrawn if a foreign national indulges in questionable behavior,
as Mahmoud Khalil certainly did.
He was smack in the middle of damaging protests at Columbia University.
trustee Bullhorn in his hand. Nevertheless, I believe Khalil should get due process a fair hearing in
front of an immigration judge. Cases like this one should be decided by evidence that separates
America from Hamas. Right, Khalil? We'll let you know what happens. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve
the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at
Bill O'Reilly.com, name in town, if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail.
Rich Frank, Belvedere, Illinois, the trade deficit with China is terrible. That's true.
Putting that aside, Americans need to realize that the goods they buy from China help the
Chinese communist military. Absolutely. If I see made in China and some of the stuff that we have,
And I try not to, but it's almost impossible sometimes.
But yeah, you're right.
There's no doubt about it.
Greg Brush, state in Ohio.
Yesterday, it was reported that Doge has 100 employees shooting at 200, who is paying them, the executive branch.
That is a new government department, and it is under the control of the president.
So they pay them.
Leslie, concierge member, Leslie has a direct line.
line to me and my crew.
Well done, especially pointing out that U.S. shares Intel with Great Britain and the English
give the intel to Ukraine.
You know, there's so many phony stories out there, Leslie, I'm seeing this, I know,
oh, we're not giving Ukraine intelligence anymore.
Yeah, okay.
Pipeline, all right?
Antoine Lombardo, Puerto Rico.
In your opinion, O'Reilly, do you think President Trump will privatize the post office?
Yes, he will try to do that.
My second question is, some are saying Puerto Rico is dying.
Is that true?
Puerto Rico's in trouble.
Not well run.
You know, you guys had a chance then it had to become a statement.
and you passed, maybe that should be rethought.
In a moment, something you might not know.
Mom, Dad, you should chop Amazon for back to school and save some money.
See, I'm currently obsessed with superheroes and need all the superhero stuff.
Superhero launch box, superhero backpack, but next year it'll be something else.
Maybe dinosaurs? I don't know. I'm not.
I don't know. I'm not a fortune teller, but I can tell you not to spend a fortune and shop
low prices for school on Amazon. Okay, good chat. Amazon, spend less, smile more.
Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
11 years ago today, then President Barack Obama ordered a thorough review of America's policy
towards illegal migrants. Going forward, the federal government would work to make its
treatment of the undocumented, quote, more humane. Here is the story. Beginning in January 2009,
President Obama ordered the removal of three million foreign nationals. In exchange, he received
some Republican support to help undocumented children remain in the USA. Those are the dreamers.
The strict policy along the border was a national security issue.
We were fighting the war on terror.
Well, Barack Obama's position earned him the nickname, the Deporter-in-Chief.
That moniker did not sit well with the progressive wing of the Democratic Party.
Under immense pressure, Mr. Obama addressed the Congressional Hispanic Caucus on March 13, 2014.
Said to President, quote, I have deep concerns about the pain.
too many families feel from the separation that comes from our broken immigration system, unquote.
He then ordered Secretary of Homeland Security, Jay Johnson, to review all immigration policies
with the focus on harm reduction. The White House ceased family separations,
improved conditions at detention centers, and hired more immigration agents. But Mr.
Mr. Obama did not surrender on border security.
In 2015, illegal crossings dropped to 350,000 people.
That figure held until Donald Trump's first term.
The immigration implosion began the first day of Joe Biden's presidency when Mr.
Biden opened the borders.
quadrupled to 3.2 million a year.
An estimated 10 to 14 million foreign nationals have entered the USA in the past four years.
And here's something else you might not know.
In total, Barack Obama's legacy on immigration is mixed.
While he shielded some undocumented folks, he did maintain a strong border, deporting millions
of undocumented aliens.
Back after this.
