Bill O'Reilly here, Wednesday, March 16th, 2022.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Here's what's happening today in America.
The Ukrainian president addressing Congress.
Most voters believe President Biden will not run for re-election.
Families cut back on food to cope with inflation.
The Senate moves to make daylight saving time permanent.
Also ahead, Joe Biden,
failing. But first, the president will travel to Europe next week to meet with allies in Brussels,
the White House describing the trip as a historic summit to confront Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
Meantime, President Zelensky virtually addressed Congress today, asking for military help against Putin.
Mr. Biden is reluctant to do that, as you may know.
survey from the Wall Street Journal says half of American voters believe Biden will not seek
re-election. 52% say the Democrat will call it quits after one term. Forty-nine percent think
Donald Trump will run again. The two men are tied in a hypothetical match at 45 percent each.
Latest polls have Mr. Biden's overall approval rating hovering around 43 percent. More on the
prospects for re-election in our next segment.
Data from the Census Bureau showing a quarter of Americans now buying less food and medicine
to cope with inflation. Hardest hit are those earning less than $75,000 a year.
The rise in energy hammering most families financially. Utility rates up 33% in New Mexico,
for example. Thirty-five percent in Arkansas.
50% in Michigan. The average household now spends an extra $385 a month because of inflation.
That's $4,600 a year in inflated costs. The Senate unanimously voting to lock the clock
and make daylight saving time permanent. To take effect, the bell would have to pass the house
and be signed by the president, which it will be. Earlier this week, we reported that most Americans
don't really like daylight saving time, but apparently the politicians do. In a moment,
will Joe Biden run again? Our prediction next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under
stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets.
And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold.

Time now for the O'Reilly update message of the day. As we reported in the first segment,
most Americans don't believe President Biden will run for re-election. And I believe they may be
right. Some perspective. If reelected, Joe Biden would be 82 years old when sworn in for
his second term in 2025. On December 22nd, 2021, Mr. Biden,
said, quote, if I'm in the health I'm in now, if I'm in good health, then in fact, I would run
again, unquote, in fact. The latest job approval rating, according to real clear
politics average for Mr. Biden's 43% approval, 53% disapprove. That obviously would not do it for
re-election. According to polling from ABC News in a Wall Street Journal, 70% of Americans now
disapprove of Biden's handling of inflation, 70% disapprove of his handling of high gas prices,
58% disapprove of his overall handling of the economy, only 43% approve of his response to COVID,
40% approve of his foreign policy right now.
And 80% of the country says America is moving in the wrong direction.
None of that good for Joe Biden.
Now, the inside word in the Democratic Party is it is anticipating a brutal defeat
in the mid-term election this coming November.
That, of course, would badly weaken President Biden,
who is already perceived as being weak.
The Democrats are quietly looking around
for another option in 2024.
They will never admit that, but I know it is true.
It cannot be, Vice President,
Harris. Her polling numbers are worse than Joe's. It cannot be Hillary Clinton, although she
wants to run, because very simply, Americans do not like her. So it's either going to be some
governor that is not well known or a superstar. And that superstar would
be Michelle Obama. In the past, Mrs. Obama has said she does not want to run for national
office or any other job. She is a very wealthy woman, but Michelle Obama would be a formidable
contender for president, even if the Democrats and Biden can
to do poorly because she is a star in liberal precincts. And obviously, minorities would very much
consider Michelle Obama for president. So keep your eye on Mrs. Obama. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I

17 years ago today, a jury in Los Angeles
acquitted a 1970s
television star of killing his 44-year-old wife. Actor Robert Blake, Beretta, was set free.
Here is his story. Born in 1933, Blake made his film debut at the age of six. He started in dozens
of movies throughout the 60s and 70s. Robert Blake was best known for his Emmy Award role as a
policeman in the ABC series, Beretta. Blake married his wife, Bonnie Ler.
Lee Bakely in November 2000. The two were constantly fighting and were in the tabloids for doing
that. In May 2001, Bonnie was found shot to death in her car outside a popular Los Angeles
restaurant. Blake was quickly arrested for the murder. The prosecution produced two former
stunt doubles who claimed the actor had recruited them to murder his wife.
life. During cross-examination in the courtroom, the stuntmen were revealed to be drug addicts
with a serious financial problem between them. On March 16, 2005, a jury acquitted Robert Blake.
They later told the press it was likely he had played a role in the shooting, but prosecutors
lacked enough evidence to prove it. During his first post-trial interview, the eccentric,
actor claimed he was relocating to Arizona where he would, quote, play some bowling with 90-year-old
Portuguese women, unquote. Eight months later, Robert Blake was found liable for his wife's
death in a civil trial, much like O.J. Simpson. He was ordered to pay $30 million to his
wife's estate, but file for bankruptcy shortly after. And here's something else you might not
know. Robert Blake recently created a website to earn extra cash. Fans can now buy autographs,
movie memorabilia, and even signed articles of clothing worn by the actor. He is 88 years old
and still maintains his innocence. Robert Blake lives in LA. Back after this.
