Here's this happening today in America. Trump and Putin phone call. Chief Justice Roberts speaks out. The astronauts are home and the world's most expensive dog. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day of the first. Trump and Putin had a two and a half hour phone call yesterday about a ceasefire with Ukraine. The White House said that Putin supports Trump's idea for a mutual pause on energy infrastructure attacks. The White House said both leaders agree this conflict needs to end with a lasting peace. Putin also presented the idea to President Trump about having a series of hockey games
Starting point is 00:01:17 between Russian players from the KHL and American players from the NHL. It's amazing. How does hockey always get dragged into international affairs? It's great. Putin attended a Russian team USA preliminary game before the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia and America won in a shootout. Russia has been banned from all international hockey competitions since the Ukraine war. This weekend Trump used his power under the Alien Enemy Act of
Starting point is 00:01:44 1798 to deporting legal aliens who are members of the Venezuelan terrorist group Trende Aragua. A district court judge said Trump can't do that. Trump in response, he did it, but also said this judge like many of the crooked judges I'm forced to appear before, should be impeached. We don't want vicious, violent, and demented criminals, many of them deranged murderers in our country.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Well, in response to that message, the Chief Justice, John Roberts, said for more than two centuries, it's been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose. I would say if anything, this is Chief Justice Roberts going outside his proper role. should the chief justice be commenting on what the president of the United States is? Incredible news, the astronauts who have been stranded in space, according to Trump and Elon, stranded by the Biden administration
Starting point is 00:02:38 because they didn't want to give Elon a Trump supporter good PR. Yesterday, finally, they landed in the Gulf of America. I love the lame stream calling it, you know, saying off Florida's Gulf Coast, or they landed in the Gulf to avoid calling it the Gulf of America. In a surreal and just stunningly beautiful video, it almost looks. fake. The capsule was surrounded by a pod of dolphins in the Gulf of America. Welcome home, Butch Wilmore and Sonny Williams. The world's most expensive dog has been sold to a man in India, nicknamed Wolf Dog. It's a cross between an actual wolf and a Caucasian shepherd,

Starting point is 00:04:07 unfold is the best part of my job. President Trump invited me to the White House on St. Patrick's Day, and there was much to discuss. First up, the JFK files, which will now be made public. President knows I wrote Killing Kennedy and asked my opinion. I suggested the files be released forthwith. Two hours later, the announcement was made. Second topic was Ukraine Putin. Extremely difficult, but progress is being made and a ceasefire there. And the third was a resurrection of Kate's law, where deported foreign criminals would face harsh mandatory prison terms if they come back to the USA. This is must-have legislation. I'm confident that Trump administration will drive it. We were close back in 2015 when 32-year-old Kate Steinley was shot
Starting point is 00:05:03 to death by a criminal migrant who defied deportation five times. Senator McConnell killed Kate's law back then to his shame. He said it wouldn't pass the Senate. Well, maybe so, but you should have tried. Now, President Trump, I believe, will get behind Kate's law, and I think it will pass. Starting point is 00:08:48 The Polynesian people arrived on the archipelago about 700 AD. For the next millennia, they rule the islands unopposed. There are eight major Hawaiian islands. All that changed in 1778 when English explorer, Captain James Cook, made landfall on Kauai. One year later, the 50-year-old captain and his crew were killed in a country. a battle on the beach, the British withdrew. American whalers began wintering on Hawaii in the early 19th century. Christian missionaries followed. By 1850, Hawaii featured framed houses, horse-drawn carriages, schools, churches, taverns, ports. After the Civil War, the Kingdom signed a free
Starting point is 00:09:37 trade agreement with the USA. Deal allowed the construction of naval bases near Honolulu that would become Pearl Harbor. President William McKinley annexed the entire Hawaiian Island territory in the year of 1900. For the next 40 years, Hawaii was transformed into America's main outpost in the Pacific. Population exploded from 90,000 to half a million. After the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Congress moved to protect the islands from any further foreign aggression. That took place in March, 1959, when Eisenhower signed the Hawaii statehood bill into law. Today, Hawaii remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is a global exporter of sugar, pineapple, coffee, fish, palm oil, and nuts.
Starting point is 00:10:31 And here's something else you might not know. Hawaii is 2,400 miles away from the American mainland. And although it's exotic, it's also expensive and very liberal. Since statehood, the islands have only seen three Republicans elected in national office. The liberal tradition dates back to 1900 when supporters of the monarchy formed the local chapter of the Democratic Party. They got to jump. To this day, progressives dominate in Honolulu.
