That's all coming up, and Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, Donald Trump's joint session of Congress speech, he said America is back. highlights were DJ, the 13-year-old with brain cancer, who was made a Secret Service agent, gave the head of the Secret Service a big hug, the young man who was granted acceptance to West Point. Of course, the mother and sister of Lake and Riley and the mother of Jocelyn Nungary, both killed by illegal aliens. Also, Corey Campitore's family was there. And Democrats didn't stand and applaud for any of this. I'm Mark Vogel, the American who was just released from Russian captivity, him and his 95-year-old mom.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Democrats didn't stand and applaud that. Trump announced that the terrorists behind the Abbey Gate bombing that killed 13 American Service members. He was apprehended and coming back to America's in-route last night during the speech. Democrats didn't applaud that either. CBS News poll right after the speech found the 76% approved, 23% disapproved. Of course, we all remember the meeting in the Oval Office with President Zelensky. Well, Zelensky wrote on X, a long post. A couple highlights. he said, I would like to reiterate Ukraine's commitment to peace.
Starting point is 00:02:01 We are ready to work fast to end the war. He later said, we really do value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things change when President Trump provided Ukraine with javelins. We are grateful for this. Our meeting in Washington at the White House on Friday did not go the way it was supposed to be.
Starting point is 00:02:20 It is regrettable that it happened this way. It's time to make things right. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it to any time and in any convenient format. The Senate had a hearing on Elbridge Colby. He goes by Bridge. This is in the Senate Armed Services Committee. His post is Undersecretary of Defense for Policy.
Starting point is 00:02:41 This is the third highest position in the Pentagon. Colby has two main beliefs. One is that we are perhaps overcommitted in Europe and the Middle East. And instead we need to put some more focus on Asia. And we don't have the resources to do that. Now, the left characterizes that as a retreat from Europe. as opposed to just a refocusing on where the threats around the world are at the moment. So one of his goals is to rebuild our manufacturing base.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Almost all of our ships are manufactured in South Korea. If you look at a map, you can see how easily that would be blocked off by China. Linda McMahon has been confirmed as the next secretary of the Department of Education. Trump said her mission is to put herself out of a job. Linda McMahon called the Department of Education's momentous final mission. It's final elimination. I'm Mike Slater for the podcast, Politics by Faith Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next.
Starting point is 00:03:32 The Red Hot Clarence event is on right now at Burlington. And I'm excited for the markdowns. It's all about savings on top of savings throughout the store. Starting point is 00:04:02 wednesday history often follows a pattern of behavior such as republicans seeking smaller government while democrats want a larger federal footprint in order to mitigate societal wrongs in modern times the american left usually opposes war vietnam iraq afghanistan just to cite a few examples. But now it is the left that is castigating President Trump for pursuing a realistic ceasefire deal in Ukraine. It's obvious that Putin is not going to stop murdering people unless he gets a deal that makes him look good. So Trump is patronizing bad Vlad, and many liberals are braying criticism because of it. Remember, Ho Chi Minh was as evil as they come. But Jane Fonda and her crew loved Uncle Ho.
Starting point is 00:04:56 It was the USA that was the villain in Southeast Asia. Putin is men's soulmate. But the left despises Vlad and apparently wants to continue a brutal, unwinnable conflict in Ukraine while it wanted out of Vietnam at any cost. It's all about Trump, of course. Whatever he does is worse than anything anybody else does. does. If the president wants Zelensky to lighten up on Vlad in order to stop the bloodshed, the left will find a way to oppose that so it can criticize Trump. That's the country in which
Starting point is 00:05:36 we all live. Emotion and partisan politics rule. Putin loves this. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at name in town if you wish to opine. There's the mail. Pat. There is no excuse for Trump and Vance last Friday. There was no Zelensky insult. Trump and Vance engineered that.
Starting point is 00:06:08 I saw the whole thing, not just the edited versions. I respectfully disagree. I don't think Trump and Vance engineered anything. I don't think they liked Zolensky. That's true. But they wanted the deal, and they wanted up. lunch. And I can back my statement up. Mick, Trump advised Olinsky to, oh, I'm sorry, Democrats advise Olinski to make demands when he met with Trump, knowing that would blow
Starting point is 00:06:42 up the deal. You got any evidence of that? Mick, you got to send me the evidence, because I don't know of one thing to back up your statement. And I've looked. Not one. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. I already know your name in town, so you don't have to do that. Send me your backup for saying that Democrats told Zelensky to blow the deal up.
Starting point is 00:07:10 I need names. I need places. David, concierge member, David gets a direct line of me and my crew. We will help David, if. he gets it to any trouble or needs any advice or anything. It's a great program. Concierge membership, Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill, after reviewing the pertinent parts of the meeting between Trump vans and Zelensky,
Starting point is 00:07:29 I got the impression that Zelensky was still trying to litigate the Mineral Deal. Yes, yes, very good. No wonder you're a concierge member, David. He went in there trying to get something in writing and says the USA is going to come in if Putin does anything untoward after the deal. What? America's not going to do that. You're absolutely right. In a moment, something you might not know.

Starting point is 00:09:08 But it was SNL that really catapulted him. Hey, net exclaimed. Hey, ne' exclaimed. Let's boil the wolverine. The wolverines. Next. Live from New York. It's Saturday night.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Unfortunately, John Belushi's wild antics and high energy were fueled by cocaine and alcohol. Notably absent from SNL's recent special was Belushi's friend and cohort Dan Aykroyd, who watched the event from his home in Canada.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Ackroyd has never really explained his relationship with John Belushi in great to tell, and he did not explain his absence from the SNL special. And here's something else you might not know. John Belushi is not the only S&L alum who died young. Some believe there is a Saturday Night Live curse. Since its debut in 1975, more than 15 cast members have suffered premature death from drugs, cancer, even murder. The grim list includes Belushi, John Candy, Phil Hartman, Gilda Radner, Norm MacDonald, Chris Farley, Andy Kaufman. quite a crew all dying young
