Ceasefire with India and Pakistan. An lasting peace with Ukraine and Russia and close to a deal with China. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, yesterday, Trump said, my next truth post on. truth social will be one of the most important and impactful I've ever issued enjoy and then a couple hours later he said for many years the world has wondered why prescription drug and
Starting point is 00:01:09 pharmaceuticals in the United States of America were so much higher in price than they were in any other nation sometimes being five to ten times more expensive than the same drug manufacturing the exact same laboratory or plant by the same company he said for years these companies blamed research and development costs he said America will no longer be the suckers here he said campaign contributions can do wonders, but not with me and not with the Republican Party. The president signed an executive order that will reduce prescription drug prices by 30 to 80 percent almost immediately with a most favored nation's policy where the United States will pay the same price as the nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the world.
Starting point is 00:01:48 He said our country will finally be treated fairly and our citizens' health care costs would be reduced by numbers never even thought of before. Trump wrote on Truth Social that a full and immediate ceasefire between individuals, and Pakistan has been reached. He later said, I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it's time to stop the current aggression. Millions of good and innocent people could have died.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Your legacy is greatly enhanced by brave actions. He ended with God bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done. Over to another war, Ukraine and Russia, Trump says he predicts a very big, week with Russia and Ukraine. He wrote on truth social, think of the hundreds of thousands of lives that will be saved as this never-ending bloodbath hopefully comes to an end. It will be a whole new and much better world. Putin said in a statement, Russia's ready for negotiations without any preconditions. And Zelensky responded to the world saying that that's a positive sign. Zelensky wrote, there's no point in continuing the killings even for a day. We expect Russia
Starting point is 00:02:55 to conform to a ceasefire complete lasting and reliable starting tomorrow. That's today. and Ukraine is ready to meet. Scott Besson had two days of talks in Switzerland with China on a new trade deal. First, he spent some time with Switzerland and then with Chinese officials. He said, I'm happy to report that we made substantial progress between the United States and China and very important trade talks. Our trade rep was a bit firmer, actually. He said it's important to understand how quickly we were able to come to an agreement,
Starting point is 00:03:21 which reflects that perhaps the differences were not so large as maybe thought. Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day. Next. And now with President Trump opposing tariffs on movies made outside the USA, we might expand our vision as to who and what should be tariffed in the culture zone. Starting point is 00:06:18 Been watching more than 15 years. She recently said that gas prices are going down, and they are big time. But in Vancouver, Washington, right across the river from Portland, we have $3.76 gallon. Okay, I looked into this. It's because of the refineries. So Washington State, very liberal, as you know, has slapped so many regulations on a refineries. It's driving your prices up. Just like California.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Same thing. Russ Ministeri is a cyber awareness specialist in North Carolina. I watch a smart life segment about online safety. I want to thank you. Part about the text message scams really hit home, these are becoming very common. What I said was if you get a text and you don't know who this text is from saying, hey, you owe money, or hey, we got money for you, or you better do this, erase it. You open it, they're in, they can recreate havoc.

Songs would redefine the rock
Starting point is 00:08:33 genre, forever change pop culture. The record, Are You Experienced? The artist, Jimmy Hendricks. Here is the story. More in 1942 in Seattle. Johnny Allen Hendricks began playing guitar at the age of 15. Dropped out of high school, relocated in Nashville, where he performed alongside the Isley brothers, Little Richard, and Curtis Knight. Young Jimmy then moved to England in 1966. He formed a trio with British bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell. The group was called the Jimmy Hendricks Experience. They released their debut album, RU, experienced on May 12, 1967. The record featured three top ten.
Starting point is 00:09:20 hits including Hey Joe, The Wind Cries Mary, and Purple Hayes. Back in America, the album was released in August, reaching number five on the bill, reaching number five on the billboard chart. Hendricks' psychedelic style had an immediate impact on the so-called counterculture. Sadly, Jimmy Hendricks did not last long. Three years after the release of his debut album, the guitarist is found dead at a hotel in London. The coroner concluded he died from asphyxia while intoxicated with narcotics. He was 27 years old.
Starting point is 00:10:19 here's something else you might not know. R.U. Experience remains, one of the most popular albums of all time. The record has sold 5 million copies in the USA, 10 million worldwide. Today, an original version of the English release resides at the Library of Congress for its, quote, contribution to American culture. I remember getting that album and playing it in college.
