Bill O'Reilly here Thursday, May 14th, 2020. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update. Here's what's happening
across our nation. The relationship's hours between President Trump and his top COVID doctor.
Americans turn to drugs and alcohol to cope with the pandemic. Four in ten adults, considering moving
during the contagion. Las Vegas casino owners outlined their plans to reopen. The virus even
causing problems for the Vatican. Also, are you old? A new survey is surprising. But first,
President Trump publicly chastising task force leader Dr. Anthony Fauci, calling some of his Senate
testimony, quote, not acceptable. The doctor suggesting the country's public schools may remain
shut throughout next fall, said the president, quote, absolutely open to schools. I don't consider our
country coming back if the schools are closed. Less than 2% of COVID cases occur in children
under 18. Dr. Fauci does speculate too much, in my humble opinion. More Americans are
abusing illegal drugs, prescription pills, alcohol to cope with the national shutdown. Recovery
facilities reports a 55% spike in substance consumption since March. Researchers say the plague
could cause 75,000 additional deaths from suicide and addiction. Again, that is speculation.
New Pole from Harris says 40% of city dwellers could move to avoid the virus. Folks in big towns
heading to the suburbs and the country, mostly in New York and Southern California, sales of
apartments and condos in the Big Apple down 80% since the outbreak started intensely.
March. MGM and other Las Vegas casinos unveiling plans to reopen. Visitors can expect
plexiglass barriers at the poker tables, digital room keys, and say goodbye to the iconic
buffet dinner. Guests will also be required to take a temperature check before walking into the casino.
Vatican City reporting record deficits as the faithful avoid churches and holy sites in Rome.
since March tourism there, down 90%
Vatican museums alone
typically draw 7 million visitors a year
generating $100 million in revenue
the headquarters of the Catholic Church projecting
a $54 million deficit
this year. In a moment, growing old,
how Americans see it.
Right back.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update message of the day getting old. Listen to this. According to a survey commissioned by a medical website called Let's Get Checked, Americans say you are officially old at age. Ready?
If that is true, I am deceased, but it's not true. Some people are old at age 25, others spry at 85. It is largely up to you.
The USA leads the league in Botox, facelifts, tummy tucks, and other physical delay mechanisms.
nothing wrong with those unless your lips look like fenders on a truck. That might be overdoing it.
But again, aging is largely emotional. Although the body does break down, especially if you stay on
the couch all the time, there is a component in your mind that can keep you youthful. The key to aging,
is not thinking about it. My pal Clint Eastwood, who will soon be 90 years old, says, quote,
I just don't let the old man out, unquote. Mr. Eastwood still directs major motion pictures.
He lifts weights. He plays golf. Believe me, if you're a punk, you still don't want to run into Clint Eastwood.
As for me, your humble correspondent, I don't even think about age unless I'm mocking
a millennial. I can't throw a football 60 yards like I used to, but the Tampa Bay
Bucks don't really need me. They have Brady. So my attitude is I'm going to do the best I can
in my life. So I'm still working. I do a lot of things, and I do them the best.
I can do. I get up, off the couch, sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's raining, sometimes it's
chilly. I get Holly the Tara dog, and I walk the dog. The dog is looking at me like, can we go back
in now? But you got to move it, move it, move it. That's the physical part. The mental part,
even more important, you've got to stay busy. Now, I'm a reader. I'm a writer, so reading,
is logical for me. But I read books. They're in my hand, not on a machine. And I converse with people
on the phone. Remember the telephone? And I research for columns like this. So I'm busy.
My mind is busy, busy, busy. But here's a real important anti-aging tip. Get a lot of sleep.
take a nap. Winston Churchill, in the middle of World War II, took a nap nearly every day. Not a big
nap, maybe a half hour, 45 minutes, and get those eight hours at night if you can. That really
contributes to slowing down the aging process. And don't listen to these pinheads. Fifty-seven is not
old. In fact, if you can get to retirement age and you're in good shape, you can have a blast. A lot more
fun than when you were young. I'm Bill O'Reilly, and I approve that message by writing it in a moment
something you might not know. Our world has obviously changed when you venture outside. Face masks
are everywhere, and the kind of mask that you use matters. We all want a mask that gives great
protection like medical professionals get with their N95 masks. The Boomer Natural's 30-day face mask

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. Legendary filmmaker George
Lucas turning 76 years old today. The man behind Star Wars, Indiana Jones, industrial light and magic,
Lucas created some of the best action-packed popcorn movies of all time.
The Star Wars brand alone worth $70 billion with a B dollars.
You'll find it in the Guinness Book of Records under the most successful franchise of all time.
But it almost wasn't made because Lucas didn't even want to be a filmmaker.
In high school, George wanted to be a race car driver until a near-fatal accident changed his mind.
and then he tried to join the U.S. Air Force, but was rejected for too many speeding tickets
makes sense if you want to be a race car driver. George Lucas was down on his luck, but what came
next would change Hollywood forever. He attended classes at the University of Southern California
Film School, taking courses in cinematography, fellow students included Godfather creator Francis Ford
Coppola and Steven Spielberg.
After some experienced, Lucas started shopping what he described as a space opera.
United Artists didn't want it. Universal, no thanks.
But Fox gave it the green light.
Turned out to change the film industry forever.
Released in the spring of 1977, Star Wars, a film made for $11 million, would go on to make $500 million worldwide.
The movie was an American Thirteen.
theaters for more than 18 months. The Force was strong. Since then, there have been eight more
Star Wars flicks, books, comics, video games. 2012, Disney bought Lucas film for $4 billion. Today,
George is worth more than $5 billion. And here's something else you might not know.
George Lucas has left his mark on almost every corner of the entertainment industry,
but he's never won any major awards.
Oscars, Golden Gloves, Emmys, not for George.
His next major project is scheduled for 2022.
Another collaboration with Steven Spielberg, a final Indiana Jones film.
Back after this.
