Bill O'Reilly here. Wednesday, May 15th, 2019. You are listening to the O'Reilly update, and here's what's happening across our nation.
Donald Trump Jr. reaches a testimony deal with the Senate Intel Committee, America's 10 largest cities facing major financial trouble.
Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez targeting Joe Biden over climate change, Bernie Sanders losing support among America's
youngest voters. Alabama passes the strictest anti-abortion law in decades. Also coming up my message of the day
is Senator Elizabeth Warren trafficking in hatred. But first, Donald Trump Jr. reached a last-minute deal
with the Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee Monday, agreeing to speak with top lawmakers
in June over his meeting with Russian nationals during the 2016 campaign. The president's eldest son is
the first of Trump's children to be issued a subpoena. A new report on the nation's finances show
America's ten largest cities, traditionally democratic strongholds, are currently drowning in debt.
In New York City, the estimated taxpayer burden is more than $85,000 per resident. That number
rises to a whopping $119,000 for Chicago. Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Diego round out the top five.
spending, part of the problem, as well as union pensions. Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio
Cortez criticizing Democratic front-ruder Joe Biden's middle-of-the-road approach when it comes to climate
change, saying his moderate proposal is a, quote, deal breaker. The former vice president dismissing
the criticism telling progressive Democrats to, quote, calm down on global.
global warming. To the campaign trail where socialist Senator Bernie Sanders is losing support from
his key demographic group, young voters. New polls show the far-left lawmaker dropping among
Democrats age 18 to 29, an important group that helped carry Sanders to second place against Hillary
Clinton just a few years ago. After years of contentious debate, the Alabama Senate voted overwhelmingly
Tuesday to pass the strictest pro-life regulations in decades. If signed by the governor, and it should
be, the new law makes most abortions felonies in Alabama. Any doctor who performs a procedure
could face up to 99 years in prison. A federal court challenge is assured. We'll be right back
with the message of the day. Everyone has heard of AARP. You may even be a member. What many do not
realize is that AARP has become a liberal lobbying group that spends your hard-earned dollars
lobbying against things you may believe in and stand for. Thankfully, there is now a conservative
alternative, an organization that believes in the sanctity of the Constitution and stands up for
the values that make America great. It's called AMAC, AMAC, AMAC, AEMAC, founded by Air Force veteran Dan
Weber. For less than $20 a year, an AMAC membership gives you members-only pricing on car insurance,
roadside assistance, discounts on hotels, travel, cell phone plans, and much more.
Your AMAC membership dollars support the ideals that you may believe in, like protecting
our borders with immigration reform, getting rid of Obamacare, and fixing social security.
So please join more than one million fellow Americans right now at AMAC.us.
yes, I am a member. Please visit amac.us. That's amac.us. Now the O'Reilly update message of the day.
It's fair to say that many Americans generally have low opinions of politicians,
and here's a vivid reason why. Fox News was kind enough to invite Senator Elizabeth Warren to do
a town hall with them. That would mean an hour, at least, of free airtime for the presidential
candidate. But instead of being gracious about the invitation, Senator Warren turned vitriolic,
saying on Instagram, quote, Fox News is welcome to come to my events, just like any other outlet,
but a Fox News Town Hall adds money to the hate-for-profit machine, to which I say hard pass, unquote.
Of course, Warren has no problem appearing on CNN and MSNBC, which hate President Trump with an intensity
never before seen in the national news arena. Or am I wrong? So it would seem as if Senator Warren is being
hypocritical. Elizabeth Warren has no chance to be president for a variety of reasons. She is a far-left
zealot, not a public servant who selectively condemns certain people and organizations. If she really
cared about social discourse and eliminating political hatred, she would not hate on Fox.
would she? So all Americans should take a hard pass on phony politicians who seek to divide the
electorate. Senator Warren is looking out for Senator Warren, not for the country. Now, as far as
a political hatred is concerned, it is absolutely wrong. The one valid point that Warren has
is that some are making money peddling hatred. Cable ratings without Donald Trump,
for the news channels would be insignificant.
Donald Trump drives all three cable networks,
Fox, MSNBC, and CNN.
The latter two despise the president.
Fox News much more generous toward him,
but all are making money with an anti or pro-Trump posture.
Same thing on late night TV.
Two out of the three hosts hate President Trump.
And every night, that's what you get.
Jimmy Fallon on NBC, he's not quite as adamant on the Trump front.
But remember Johnny Carson and even Jay Leno to some extent.
They did not traffic in politics.
Carson dominated for years, sometimes bringing in 10 million viewers per night.
Now, late-night TV shows are lucky if they get 3 million viewers.
Saturday Night Live this season devoted most of its first skits to bashing Trump.
At first, it worked, but in the end, Saturday Night Live's ratings went down.
If you look at the bestseller list for books, there are many anti-Trump books and some pro-Trump books,
but they're all making money off Donald Trump.
so my advice to everybody in the media is put a lid on it would you my new book out in september

how it is received we'll have more analysis on bill o'reilly dot com where you can see me below v8

something you might not know. Colorado was the first state to legalize recreational marijuana
on back in 2012. This week, the state's Department of Revenue reported that stores sold more
than $114 million of pot just in the month of March. That beats the previous record of 112 million
back in August of last year. Now, Colorado is one of 10 states who have legalized a recreational
drought. Several more are set to take up similar legislation in the coming months. While legalization
has clearly boosted revenue in states like Colorado, it is important to remember that it comes
with a price, pardon the pot. Although marijuana advocates claim that legalization will end the black
market for the drug, illegal sales of pot remain a problem in Colorado. According to a report
from the Department of Public Safety, felony marijuana cases for crimes like conspiracy,
distribution and possession, actually increased from 2015 through 17.
The same report shows that organized crime cases involving marijuana have also increased
significantly since 2014. That's because street pot is cheaper than store pot because of the
taxes. Legalization has also affected young people. According to a recent study, Colorado's
youth marijuana use is the highest in the nation, seven,
74% greater than the national average.
74%.
Talk about Rocky Mountain High.
That has had a profound impact on the state schools.
Colorado reporting that during the 2016-17 school year,
marijuana was responsible for more than one in five expulsions
and law enforcement referrals.
Pot is the most commonly used illicit drug in the USA.
But we still know very little about the effects of chronic use.
Studies have linked it to depression, anxiety, and psychotic-like experiences in teenage users.
With so many unknowns, the wholesale legalization of recreational marijuana is one of the greatest social experiments in our nation's history.
And it may well be something we'll come to regret.
Back in a moment, but first, if you are age 75 or older and if you own $100,000 life insurance policy
or larger, please get a pen and write this information down.
Many Americans are making the decision to convert their life policy into cold, hard cash,
giving them some extra money to pay off credit cards, medical bills, any number of things.
Look, the economy's always been dicey. Some people need cash. There's nothing wrong with
that. You may find the cash you need in your life policy. If you are over 75, you have a $100,000
policy or larger, please write this number down now. 844, we buy 75. Totally free to call.
Get rid of those insurance premium. Stop paying them. Consider turning the policy you have
into cash. The number again, 844, we buy.
