Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America.
Jay Sixers in jail. The Supreme Court crushes the EPA.
Kids betting on sports in record numbers and Target losing a lot of money.
Y'all coming up, then Bill will be here with your message of the day.
A January 6th protester was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
He said he's a political prisoner.
And the judge responded, you, sir, present an ongoing threat and a peril to this country
and to the republic and to the very fabric of this democracy.
Ahead of January 6th, he wrote in a message, they won't fear us until we come with rifles in hand.
Important note, he did not bring rifles.
And then the guy who put his feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk, but it actually wasn't Nancy Pelosi's desk.
it was like the receptionist desk.
He was convicted of eight crimes given four years in federal prison.
He told the jury he was looking for a bathroom.
That's not a good excuse.
But prosecutors said he showed brazen disrespect for every form of authority he encountered.
And the judge said, you're 63 years old.
You're too old for this nonsense.
But for better or worse, you became one of the faces of January 6th, and I think you enjoy it.
He was inside the Capitol for how long?
Six minutes.
And he stole an envelope.
The Supreme Court struck down Abreed.
ridiculous EPA ruling. The EPA has always been ridiculous about how they classify navigable
waterways. When you think of a navigable waterway, you think of like the Mississippi River or
something. But they take it to mean any creek is a navigable waterway. So someone wanted to build a
house on land they own in Idaho. But the EPA said no, because your house is near a ditch
that feeds into a creek that feeds into a lake. And that ditch is a navigable waterway. And the
EPA threatened them with penalties of $40,000 a day.
And the Supreme Court ruled against Biden's EPA, nine to nothing.
An NC2A study finds that 18 to 22-year-olds,
58% of them have placed at least one bet on a sporting event last year,
even though in most states it's illegal for people at age.
Among college students living on campus, 70% have placed at least one bet.
And the survey found that underage gamblers typically bet between $1 and $50
and lose between 10 and 300 a day.
Target so far has lost $9 billion in market cap.
At first, the CEO said,
I think those are just good business decisions,
and it's the right thing for society
and a great thing for our brand.
Then the CEO said that because of threats to his employees,
they'll be moving the pride displays to the back.
And now an internal email to the managers says,
to our teams and stores, thank you for steadfastly representing our
values. I'm Mike Slater. Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. It is almost impossible to believe
that two West Coast baseball teams will be honoring an anti-Christian hate group in June.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and the LA Angels are said to bestow legitimacy on a group
call the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at their respective Gay Pride Nights.
The Sisters, mainly transvestides, dressed as nuns, have openly committed sacrilege
against the Catholic Church by receiving communion and then defiling the wafer in front of
cameras.
In addition, the group put on a Jesus and Mary-themed strip show.
that featured a performer writhing upside down on a wooden cross.
That was followed by shirtless men competing to be crowned, the hunkiest Jesus.
This is the group the Dodgers and angels, sorry for the irony, are honoring on the baseball field.
If any other religion was demeaned this way, federal hate crimes,
statutes would be employed. But in America, you can bash Christians all day long. And that is
flat out wrong. The Dodgers and Angels deserve scorn. There is no excuse. This is
nothing to do with gay pride or anything like that. In fact, I believe most homosexuals are
appalled by this. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me.

Now let's go to the mail.
So, Joyce says his respect, Mr. Biden's claim that we lost Bo in Iraq, a quote.
A quick check finds that Beau served seven months in Iraq.
He was diagnosed later with brain cancer.
Maybe being in Iraq caused him to die, but no one can say for sure.
But his father has a right to believe that.
Joe Biden has a right to believe that Bo Biden's brain cancer, not in the family, by the way,
was caused by exposure to chemicals in Iraq.
And we should not question that.
Steve Shire, Austin, Texas, here is what's going on.
The leader of our country and his administration get away with everything.
They are corrupt.
It is and now has bled into the fabric of our society, and it's getting worse.
In my business, people now breach agreements that are in writing, and nothing happens.
I agree 100%.
The legal system here in New York has collapsed.
You can have contracts, you can have whatever you want.
That doesn't matter.
Ultimately, after years and hundreds of thousands of dollars, you may win.
But enforcement is crazy.
Corruption breeds more corruption.
Russell Gauthier, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the Department of Justice failing to investigate not only in themselves, but the FBI to the Supreme Court, can the court appoint an investigator?
No. The Supreme Court doesn't have any power to do anything other than hear cases.
So you have to file a criminal case and then it has to wind itself up through the appeals process to the court, which may or may not hear it.
That's what we said about Carrie Lake.
Springport doesn't have any appointment power or any enforcement power.
In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know in 1992.
America's favorite late-night comedian signed off for the last time.
After spending 30 years on top, Johnny Carson said goodbye.
by. Here is his story. The Iowa native, Carson, began performing magic tricks and card games
for his friends at the age of 12. His mother sold him a cape so he could entertain neighbors
at birthday parties and family picnics. When he was 14, young John debuted his character,
the great Carsoni, charging $3 per show. After graduating high school, he hitchhiked to Hollywood,
where he was arrested and fined $50 for street peddling.
Johnny Carson then joined the Navy in 1943.
He was unrued to serve in the Pacific when the war ended.
While on board the USS Pennsylvania, Carson took up boxing and remained undefeated
throughout his time in the military.
Johnny Carson returned to the Midwest and was hired at a local radio station.
After a series of quiz shows and comedy routines with longtime sidekick Ed McMahon,
Johnny Carson was tapped by NBC to create a late-night program as a counterpart to their popular morning broadcast, The Today Show.
The Tonight Show debuted on October 1st, 1962.
An average audience of 9 million watched Johnny Carson and his crew as,
every weeknight for the next three decades.
His final show took place on May 22nd, 1992.
The legendary broadcaster died in 2005 at the age of 79 from heart failure.
And here's something else you might not know.
Since the days of Carson, late-night TV viewership has taken a dive.
Today, hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert, each story.
struggle to reach 2 million viewers per night.
According to the U.S. census, at least 22 million tuned in to watch Johnny Carson's final
broadcast.
I doubt anyone will care when the current crop of late night hosts say goodbye.
Back after this.
Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines.
