Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It's Wednesday, May 29th, 2024.
Here's what's happening today in America.
a jury of his peers, virtual DNC,
peer broken, an iconic house for sale.
It's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
It's up to the jury now.
Remember, the decision has to be unanimous.
Either way, all 12 jurors have to find Trump guilty or not guilty.
If 11 say he's guilty, but there's one person who doesn't agree,
then it's a hung jury.
And the state would need to decide if they want to do it all over again.
But by that point, he'll be president anyway.
so it doesn't matter. The verdict could be reached today could last into next week.
CBS reported that the Secret Service has met with local jail officials at New York City
in case he has to be sent to the pokey. If he is sent off, which I don't think he will,
but if he is, he would serve time at Rikers Island. The DNC will nominate Biden virtually.
Why? Because Ohio has a deadline to certify the Democratic candidate by August 7th,
but the Democrats convention is August 19th. So legally, if they don't do it this way,
then Biden wouldn't be on the ballot in Ohio.
So they're doing it virtually,
which will at the very least take away
some of the pomp and circumstance
out of the big convention in August.
Metaphor alert,
the $320 million pier
that Biden ordered to be built
off the coast of Gaza
has broken apart.
The pier was made to get aid
into the people of Gaza,
but high seas broke the pier
into pieces.
It will be removed and taken to a port in Israel
where they will carry out repairs.
It should last about a week.
This occurred just three days after heavy seas forced two small army vessels to beach in Israel
and two other vessels broke free from their moorings and are anchored near the pier.
Again, $320 million.
And of course, all the aid has been stolen and is now controlled by Hamas.
The home alone house is for sale.
Winnetka, Illinois, just north of Chicago.
The current owners bought it in 2012 for $1.5 million.
They're asking $5.25 million.
Five-bedroom, six-bath, 9,000 square feet.
It's got a basketball court and movie theater, half an acre, and just a short walk to Lake Michigan.
The inside looks nothing like the movie anymore, except for the staircase is still there, and the front door hasn't changed.
The current owners say that when they were looking for a house, the wife said, I want something that looks like the home alone house.
Turns out the home alone house was for sale.
I'm Mike Slater for the podcast, Politics by Faith.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Wednesday, it looks to me, based on reading and watching news coverage, that most national journalists are rooting for a conviction in the Trump Hush Money case.
You're not supposed to rude if you are a reporter, but that rule was shattered years ago.
Now ideology dominates news coverage in America.
If Donald Trump is convicted in the case, the country will be divided even further.
Is that a good thing, NBC News?
Over at CNN, the words, let's get this party started come to mind.
At Fox News, there'll be some frowns and headshaking to keep the customers satisfied,
as Paul Simon once sang.
So here's my trial take based upon,
an acute knowledge of Donald Trump and much experience with New York City a liberal wellness
spot. The former president told his former lawyer to deal with accusations that were clearly
designed to harvest money just days before the 2016 election. Trump just wanted the thing to
vanish. There is zero evidence he thought about campaign funding statutes. In order to convict,
there has to be criminal intent.
So, simple man that I am, I cannot see a conviction, but of course I could be wrong.
If Donald Trump hatred runs deep among the jurors, emotional angst will override the lack of evidence.
We'll all know shortly, but we already know the intent of the press, don't we?
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.

It was great to see you back in action debating, Bill.
It felt like the good old days on the factor.
You brought clarity and truth to millions regarding race relations in America.
Keep up the dynamic work.
Interesting letter.
So when I switched from the factor to the nosman news, I analyzed what you, the viewer, and listener, needed.
And that was information.
So we went away from the debate format that we had under the factor into the information format,
giving you as much information as we can, each version of the no spin news.
So now I only have one guest, but I am going to start more debates.
You saw me with the counselor today on the justice system in New York.
We're going to do more of that, but primarily this broadcast is set up to give you hard facts.
Bill Henderson, Peachtree, City, Georgia.
Bill, he keeps saying President Biden doesn't know what he's saying.
If you are correct, he should be removed from office as he's clearly unfit to lead our country.
Well, you have to have people within his organization file to remove him.
Can't remove him.
People voted for him.
Stephen Smith, Burles and Texas, we watch the No Spin News every night.
Remember your days at WFAA and Dallas.
Wow.
1976 to 1978.
Regarding Joe Biden lies versus impaired.
I agree the man is impaired.
but he's also a liar and has been his whole life okay certainly he got pounded for his plagiarism

71 years ago today, a beekeeper from New Zealand became the first human being to stand
on the summit of Mount Everest. Since then, thousands have tried to reach the highest peak on the
planet. Many have died along the way. Here's the story of Sir Edmund Hillary. Born in 1919,
Auckland, New Zealand, young Edmund began climbing as a teenager. He joined the Royal New Zealand
Air Force in 1943. After World War II, teams from different countries began competing to conquer
Mount Everest. After a failed summit by the Swiss, Great Britain tapped its Commonwealth for the
next big expedition. The team included 400 people and 10,000 pounds of luggage. On May 29th,
1953. Just two men in that entire group reached the top. Sir Edmund and his Sherper assistant
Tenzing Norge. For just five minutes, they enjoy the most isolated and dangerous location on Earth.
If you are thinking of making the trek yourself, here are some sobering facts. The top of Mount Everest
reaches 29,000 feet the same altitude as a typical commercial jetliner fly.
light. The oxygen level, 33% compared to the air on the ground. The temperature, negative 50 degrees
Fahrenheit. Average wind exceed 70 miles per hour at all times. A person without supplemental
oxygen will lose consciousness in 90 seconds, freeze to death within 15 minutes. Climers undergo
rigorous training for two months in Tibet. Another three weeks at base camp, then the
journey begins. The trek to the top of Mount Everest takes four days. Another two days
to come down. As many as 10% of all climbers perish on the journey. And here's something
else you might not know. The location about Everest is so remote. It's impossible to remove
the bodies of those killed trying to climb to the top.
400 people have died on Mount Everest.
They will spend eternity on that mountain.
Back after this.
