Bill O'Reilly here. It is Thursday, May 30th, 2019. You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
And here's what's happening today in America. Nancy Pelosi under pressure from Democrats to move forward on impeachment.
Louisiana becomes the latest state in the USA to pass the anti-abortion heartbeat law.
Border Patrol agents detain a record number of migrants on Memorial Day. The San Francisco Bay
actually more segregated than it was back in 1970, Philadelphia facing a new breed of invader.
Also coming up my message of the day on Robert Mueller's behavior yesterday. But first, some politics.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi now under pressure from her liberal colleagues to move forward on impeachment.
After Robert Mueller's eight-minute briefing yesterday, at least five Democratic.
Democratic presidential candidates are calling for the removal of Donald Trump, saying he, quote,
obstructed justice during Mueller's pro. More on this a bit later on. Louisiana, joining other
states, passing the pro-life heartbeat bill, effectively banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.
Governor John Bell Edwards, the Deep South's only Democratic governor, promising to sign the legislation
into law by the end of this week.
Back to the border where U.S. agents are confirming they apprehended more than 2,200 illegal migrants on Memorial Day in an area near El Paso.
The arrest occurred when hundreds of people tried to storm the border and run toward a local high school.
The border continues to be chaotic with no end in sight.
San Francisco is not the liberal paradise claimed by many residents apparently.
A new study from UC Berkeley shows the Bay Area.
area is actually more racially segregated than it was 40 years ago. In 1970, seven of the
region's nine counties were more integrated than in previous decades. Philadelphia confronting a
growing threat from a new type of urban invader, feral house cats. Experts say the wild relatives
of normal pets are taking over vast sections of Philly, with some estimating the number of
nasty cats at more than 500,000. Unlike other pests that are killed with poison,
officials are trying to find a humane way to remove all these animals. On the bright side,
there has been a severe decrease of Philadelphia's rat population. Coming up, my message of the
day is Robert Mueller being unfair to a fellow American. Right back with it. We live in a very
complicated world, so it's important that you protect yourself and the people you love. That's
why I'm happy to tell you about a company I recommend Wise Foods.

Time now for the O'Reilly update.
Message of the day is special counsel Robert Mueller being unfair to a fellow American
who just happens to be the president?
The answer is yes.
Let's look at the big picture.
Here's what I believe happened based upon observation and personal knowledge.
Back in 2016, the Trump campaigned,
was somewhat pleased that internet trolls were trying to hurt Hillary Clinton's campaign.
Donald Trump was vaguely aware of the anti-Hillary stuff,
but it was just another campaign occurrence, nothing more.
Gossip, if you will.
Now, after he won the election, Mr. Trump was stunned that the Russian collusion story
dominated the TV media, which he watches all the time.
That surprise quickly turned to anger as the new president sought assurance of his innocence
from the Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, and the FBI chief, James Comey.
Neither man stepped up to support the new president as he wished.
Very quickly, Sessions and Comey lost credibility, and Donald Trump eventually fired them.
As the media frenzy grew, so did Trump's frustration
and he very likely vented
to some on his White House staff
that the investigation was unfair and should end.
I have known Donald Trump for 30 years.
He is a venter.
He speaks with emotion.
But the president apparently did not actually do anything
other than Fire Comey, who was involved with a variety of dubious things, as the world will soon see.
Robert Mueller heard stories about the Benton, but well knows that is not a crime.
In the end, Mueller found no solid evidence of obstruction.
Therefore, he should have simply said that loud and clear.
Instead, he suggested that President Trump.
might be guilty of something, and Congress might want to find out what that something is.
Robert Mueller, well-knowing, that statement would fuel the impeachment movement.
Now, prosecutors like Mueller rarely editorial law, because it obliterates the evidence factor.
No evidence, no crime. That's our system.
If Mueller does have evidence of a crime, he could have easily written it
in his almost 500-page report, as Ken Starr did with President Clinton.
Robert Mueller treated Donald Trump unfairly, in my opinion,
to offload liberal media criticism of himself.
not exactly a profile in courage.
If you can't prove it, drop it for the good of the country.
And one more thing, fair-minded Americans should understand
that this entire matter, the investigation of President Trump,
is now a political, not a legal play.

Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
This week, the World Health Organization officially classified.
video game addiction as a disease.
The global public health agency reports that the addiction is characterized by, quote,
pattern of persistent or recurrent gaming behavior that takes precedence over other life
interests.
It can lead to addicts skipping meals, work, and school.
They also lose interest in a social life or even finding a life partner.
The classification should not come as a surprise to many parents who see their children spend
countless hours staring at a computer screen or tapping away at their controller.
According to the American Psychiatric Association, gaming addicts may display behavior similar
to those addicted to drugs or alcohol, withdrawal symptoms, deceiving family members about the
amount of time spent gaming, and an inability to quit or reduce the amount of time spent playing.
Experts say the personal impact of a video game obsession is similar to those struggling with gambling addiction,
but without the horrific financial implications.
Just like everything else, moderate gaming should not be a problem.
But the new classification does highlight a growing issue in this country.
People are increasingly disconnecting from reality and retreating into a fantasy world of instant gratification.
According to the Entertainment Software Association, more than 150 million Americans play video games
with the average gamer being 34 years old. That's about 40% of the entire population.
So what do we do about the issue? Should there be a gamers anonymous in your neighborhood all
around the country? Rehab clinics that specialize in gaming detox? Those days might not be far off.
In the meantime, there are steps you can take.
to help protect your kids. It's obvious. Limit their playing time. Keep it to a few hours a week.
Encourage children to pick up a hobby outside of the digital world. While the kids might resist
at first, they will thank you down the road. Parents have to be strong. Addiction brings pain.
