Hello, O'Reilly here. It is Friday, May 31st, 2019. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update.
And here's what's happening today in America. As many of you know, special counsel Robert Mueller
delivered a prepared statement at the Department of Justice this week. Speaking to the American people
for the first time in two years about his Russia-Trump collusion investigation. For about 10 minutes,
Mr. Mueller explained the findings of his report, but specifically,
refuse to clear President Trump of criminal activity, leaving the door open for Democrats to
demand the president's impeachment in the House of Representatives. Also, these four Democratic
candidates for president are calling for Trump's removal, and that will likely grow in the near
future. Now, I have a few observations based upon his appearance Wednesday. I believe
Robert Mueller despises Donald Trump, but he seems to respect Attorney General Barr. He just
took no cheap shots of him and basically said Mueller himself doesn't have a problem with anything Barr has said or done.
That seems to be unusual because Mr. Barr has dropped the case against President Trump citing lack of evidence.
The big question is, why are we going through this exercise?
That is a question for those with an open mind.
Why is the special counsel implying that maybe there was a crime?
That's not what a prosecutor or an investigator usually does.
They come to a conclusion.
If they don't have enough evidence, that in itself is the conclusion.
If you don't have enough to charge, the person is considered not guilty.
Mueller is not barred from saying, hey, we found this and that.
If they had the evidence that Donald Trump committed any crime, it would have been included.
Let's take politics out of the equation.
On a legal basis, if Robert Mueller had evidence and did not include,
the information in his nearly 500-page report, then Mueller himself is guilty of obstruction.
You can bring a man in charge him with a felony. What is most important is that the American
people understand the bigger picture. The President of the United States is likely being denied
due process under the law. House Judiciary Chair Gerald Nadler and Robert Mueller should
understand that if they're going to put the nation through a two-year impeachment ordeal,
independent voters may very well shift over to Donald Trump in 2020, citing unfairness.
Nancy Pelosi knows that, and that's why she is not signed on to the impeachment movement,
at least not yet, but anything could happen.
Coming up, my message of the day.
The economy may be growing, but America's trade war with China means there could be financial uncertainty on the horizon.
Most experts agree that higher tariffs and trade barriers may lead to market volatility,
endangering Americans' retirement savings.
You can't let your guard down.
You have to protect your family and your finances.
That's why many Americans are turning to physical gold and silver to safeguard their
retirement accounts and life savings. And a relatively new law allows you to own physical gold and
silver as part of your IRA. To get you started, the Hartford Gold Group is giving a free silver coin
to all of my radio listeners. If you are listening right now, you can get this free silver coin
from the Hartford Gold Group. No purchase necessary. All you have to do is call 877-444-4-4-go.

Now the O'Reilly Update message of the day, academic fascism on college campuses.
Speaking at the University of Missouri, Kansas City a few weeks ago,
conservative columnist Michael Knowles was assaulted by a student who apparently
objected to his opinion that, quote,
men are not women.
The chancellor of the college,
C. Molly Agrawal,
was forced to issue a statement
condemning physical disruptions
of peaceful activity.
But before Chancellor Agrawal
got a round of those words, he wrote this.
Quote, a student group
brought a speaker to campus,
a speaker whose professed opinions
do not align with our commitment to diversity and inclusion,
and our goal of providing a welcoming environment to all people,
particularly to our LGBT community.
Well, how very virtuous.
The headline should have read,
violence against the speaker will result in expulsion.
Instead, Mr. Agrawal buried that lead under a pile of political correctness.
Now, many college administrators know they have to do that in order to keep their job.
No longer our American higher learning institutions places where the free exchange of ideas is incurred.
Nope.
Now, social justice is mandatory, and dissent from the far left line can be punished.
The situation is so extreme that the President of the United States had a recently issue in executive order
informing colleges that federal money will be denied if freedom of expression is not protected
on campus. Right now, academic fascism dominates many college campuses. There are no longer two
sides to historic. You depart from liberal thought, a student or professor may very well be punished,
shunned, or both. The acceptable narrative goes like this. White men are the oppressor. Just about
everyone else is a victim. Minorities and women are routinely persecuted and exploited by a corrupt
capitalist system that denies justice. The economy is fixed, and white rich guys get all the stuff.
Therefore, every person should be provided with health care, a free education, a good-paying
job, and cradle to grave security. In addition, black Americans must receive cash payments for the
slavery legacy. All migrants should be admitted into the country, and climate change danger
should allow the federal government to mandate how we live on a day-to-day basis.
The cold truth is if you are not, quote, welcoming, you are not welcome on campus. And the left
will decide who is inclusive and who is not. Hey, George Orwell, thanks for the heads up.

And now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know.
Last week marked the 138th anniversary of the founding of the American Red Cross,
one of the most recognizable humanitarian organizations in the world.
The group's iconic logo has long been a symbol of those in desperate need of relief,
including America's military as well as victims of natural disaster.
It's all a testament to the efforts of one woman, Lara Barton.
Ms. Barton didn't begin her career in the medical field.
She was a schoolteacher in Massachusetts,
eventually moving to Washington, D.C. to work as a patent clerk.
It wasn't until 1861 at the age of 40 that Clara Barton would find the calling for which she would ultimately be remembered.
On April 19th of that year, just days after the first shots of the Civil War had been fired, a riot broke out in Baltimore,
during which Confederate sympathizers attacked a Massachusetts regiment on their way to Washington.
As the casualties began to pour into the capital, Ms. Barton rushed from the Patent Office to help.
the wounded soldiers.
Some of the men were actually her former school students.
Ms. Barton gathered supplies first from her own house,
then began asking others to send what they could.
The response for her, please, was overwhelming.
Clara Barton would eventually make her way to the front lines
during the Civil War, administering relief to the wounded
alongside other volunteers.
It was during this time that she earned her nickname, Angel of the Babel
after the war, Clara Barton continued to devote herself to serving those in need, traveling
to Europe and eventually Switzerland, where the global Red Cross network had been established.
In May of 1881, Clara Barton founded the American Red Cross, serving as the organization's president
until her retirement in 1904. Today, the organization responds to more than 70,000 disasters around
the world each year and supplies 40% of all the donated blood in the U.S.S. Built on altruism and
service to mankind, the American Red Cross is a fitting legacy for its founder, Lava Barter.
