Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. It is Wednesday, May 8th, 2019. You are listening to the O'Reilly update, and here's what's happening across our nation. Hora in Colorado, as two gunmen open fire inside a local high school. Corey Booker says it's time for a gun buyback program to stop future shootings. Big trouble for Bernie Sanders as Joe Biden opens a giant lead in new polling. The New York Times obtains 10 years of the president's tax returns and officials at the Auschwish Memorial enraged over an online shop selling products featuring images of the Nazi death camp. Also coming up my message of the day on the Trump tax situation. But first, two gunmen opened fire at a local charter school in Colorado, injuring eight innocent students, some in critical condition. Suspects were
Starting point is 00:00:58 detained by police within minutes of the shooting. They are currently enrolled at that school. Cory Booker weighing in on the public debate surrounding guns, the Democratic hopeful in 2020, now calling for a gun buyback program that would force some Americans to hand in their firearms. The real question for Senator Booker, what happens to Americans who refuse to do that? Bad news are Bernie Sanders in recent polling, with former Vice President Biden opening up a 32-point lead over the socialist senator from Vermont. National surveys show Biden now has 46 percent of support from likely Democratic voters, with Sanders fading to just 14 percent. But caution, many polls are not accurate, as we saw in the last presidential election. The New York Times reporting they have
Starting point is 00:01:52 obtained, 10 years of President Trump's tax returns, claiming the documents dated from 1985 to 94, show Mr. Trump's businesses lost more than $1.1 billion with a B. According to the newspaper, the losses were mostly caused by a drop in casino, hotel, and real estate markets. I'll have some commentary on this coming up. Online Retail Marketplace Red Bubble called out Monday by representatives from the Auschwitz Memorial, after the store featured, quote, disrespectful images of the Nazi death camp on pillows, miniskirts, and tote bags, if you can believe it. The items are labeled chimney and sold for 35 euros. This, of course, is disgraceful, but a sign of the times we are living in.

That's 855-269-0501. Here is the O'Reilly Update message of the day, as reported the New York Times printed Donald Trump's tax returns from 1985 to 1994. The returns were leaked to the anti-Trump newspaper, perhaps illegally. Apparently, Mr. Trump lost more than a billion dollars over 10 years. This does not come as a surprise to me, your humble correspondent, because in researching my upcoming book, the United States of Trump, we found out the developer lost far more than that. How Donald Trump made a business comeback is an extremely fascinating story, which of course is in the book. As for the New York Times,
Starting point is 00:04:42 I would have gone with the story if I had been given the documents, even illegally. Americans should know about the history of their presidents, which is why I'm writing a history book about Donald Trump. However, President Trump is correct in saying that his tax returns are only being sought by Democrats in order to embarrass him. Motive is important. Also, there is the privacy situation. Donald Trump is an American. tax returns are supposed to be secured by the IRS. Now, in Trump's case, nothing is secure. Everything is leaked. Any presidential contender should understand that. Once you get into the public arena, you can forget about privacy. But whoever leaked the Trump returns to the newspaper
Starting point is 00:05:35 should be held accountable if we find out who that person is. One other thing. The hatred surrounding Donald Trump is not healthy for America. This week, the Baltimore Sun wrote a editorial scorching golfer Tiger Woods. Why? Because Mr. Woods showed up at the White House this week to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a very prestigious award. The son objected to a quote, man of color, Tiger Woods, actually associating with the president of the United States. Now, this is just pure hatred. That's all it is. Most Americans, being honored like that, wouldn't care who the president was. It's a respectful situation because of the office, not the man or woman in it.
Starting point is 00:06:40 You respect the office of the presidency, but not in the American media. Now it's hate Trump and hate anyone who associates with him. The Baltimore Sun editorial was appalling. The newspaper is on the skids, its circulation is bottoming out. In a few years, it will not even exist. But in the meantime, the Baltimore Sun and many, many other media vehicles simply hate Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:07:15 And therefore, they despise anyone who supports him and anyone who associates with him. That is wrong. That is destructive to the United States of America. And that's a message of the day. We have more commentary on bill o'Reilly.com where you can see me each evening. We hope you check it out. Now this. A young lady was looking to buy her first home in Texas. The market at her price point is very hot. So she went to real estate agentsitrust.com for help. To ensure her offer was accepted, her agent suggested the following steps. One, get prequalified with a mortgage company that her agent had a history used.
Starting point is 00:08:01 using to satisfy the seller's agent. Two, find a home that was priced to sell so they knew the owner was ready to move. Three, find a home well located and priced correctly so it could be leased if an emergency occurred. Four, anticipating multiple offers offer more than asking, but still less than what the house would be appraised for. and five, offered a help with some of the closing costs. The house the lady wanted had 10 offers in three days, but she got the house
Starting point is 00:08:41 because she had an agent who knew how to get the job done. That's why I love real estate agents, I trust.com. No pinheads, just great agents. Get moving. With real estate agents, I trust.com, that's real estate agents, I trust.com. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is back in the news, this time for something positive and something that may surprise you.
Starting point is 00:09:12 The flamboyant celebrity has been quietly working with the Trump administration for three months to free convicted felons who were given extensive prison sentences for so-called low-level drug offenses. The efforts, part of her Buried Alive program, have now freed at least 17 inmates in the past 90 days. Now, the Buried Alive campaign has not only changed the lives of some prisoners who faced decades behind bars, but also Ms. Kardashian herself, who now hopes to become a lawyer and take the bar exam in the year 2022. Ms. Kardashian, the wife of musician and staunch Trump supporter, West, has found a surprising ally in President Trump, who managed to pass a bipartisan criminal reform bill just months ago. The commander-in-chief signed the First Step Act into law last
Starting point is 00:10:06 December after meeting Ms. Kardashian inside the Oval Office, throwing his full support behind a series of proposals that reduced some minimum sentences while providing a second chance for those in American prisons who deserve a second chance. Predictably, Kim Kardashian faced a brutal backlash from some Hollywood liberals and other left-wing activists for simply working with President Trump. The Los Angeles resident dismissed the criticism telling reporters, quote, I guarantee you the people sitting behind bars don't care who the president is. Ms. Kardashian should be praised for her efforts, although caution should be used in setting convicted felons free. It is easy for actors or professional athletes to criticize, complain, and demand
Starting point is 00:10:53 action on social justice, but it's quite another thing to get out there and do it. Ms. Kardashian should be an example of someone who is trying to make America better. Her compassion is impressive. President Trump, too, should be applauded. Criminal justice reform, not a popular policy with some of his base, but despite the obstacles, two people from very different backgrounds managed to come together and accomplish something. A lesson very much needed for both political parties in America. Now this work. If you watch 60 Minutes and you own a home, you just got very nervous.
Starting point is 00:11:30 The FBI's former head of cybercrimes has warned home owners that foreign and domestic thieves can steal your home and do it all online. That's because home titles and mortgages are kept in databases that can be hacked. If you have equity in your home, here's how they get you. They simply forge your name onto your home's title. Use your home as collateral to borrow cash. and stick you with the payments. And no bank or identity theft program protects you. So you need home title lock, America's leading title and mortgage guardian. For pennies a day, home title lock puts a barrier around your home's title and mortgage. If cyber thieves tamper with it, we mobilize
Starting point is 00:12:12 to help shut it down. You may already be a victim. Here's how to find out. Go to home titlelock.com and register for your free title scan and report, a $100 value, free with sign-up. Don't let cyber thieves steal your home. Go to hometidallock.com, hometidallock.com.
