It would take two-thirds of the 100 senators to convict President Trump and remove him from office. That will not happen because Republican senators know if they ever voted with the Democrats to remove Mr. Trump, the Republican Party would collapse. So the evidence,

such as it is, really doesn't matter. This is about survival for the Republican Party. Now, here's what we can expect. The Democrats want to drag this out as long as they can drag it out, even though it hurts the Democratic Party in Iowa because Senators Sanders, Warren, and Klobuchar can't campaign there. They've got to be listening to all of the so-called testimony. I don't know whether witnesses will be called or not, but if they are, it becomes a dog and pony show and a spectacle. The founders wanted all the witnesses to be called in the house and the house to get all the information, vote on impeachment, and then the Senate take the information and say yes or no to removal. That's how it was set up. But now the witness thing is there. No matter what
