Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill. It is Tuesday, November 11th, 2025. Happy Veterans Day. Here's what happened today in America.
Syrian president to the White House. Supreme Court denies case. Suing for a lot of money. And the U.N. Climate Doom Summit that's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the president of Syria, Ahmed Ami,
Shara met with President Trump at the White House yesterday.
He is the first Syrian leader to visit the White House since Syria became independent
from French colonial rule in 1946.
Shara quietly entered the White House through a side entrance, remained inside for about
an hour and a half.
Shara is a former al-Qaeda and Iraq officer.
Now he's the president of Syria and he's trying to convince the Western world that he
can lead a democracy in Syria.
now check this out the house foreign affairs committee chairman brian mast is a congressman from
florida he met with the president of syria on sunday night now the relevant thing about
brian mast in this case is he is a decorated army veteran who lost both of his legs while serving
in afghanistan as a bomb disposal expert right so he met with this former al qaeda terrorist
and bryan masts said i broke bread he and i are two former soldiers and two former enemies i asked him
directly. Why are we no longer enemies? His response was that he wishes to liberate from the past
and have a noble pursuit for his people and his country and to be a great ally to the United States
of America. The Supreme Court denied a bid from a former Kentucky County clerk, Kim Davis, to appeal
a $100,000 damages verdict and to get the justices to revisit the 2015 same-sex marriage rights
decision, Obergefell v. Hodges. The court denied that and did not explain his decision.
Kim Davis, you remember, refused to issue a marriage license to this same-sex couple on religious grounds.
She was jailed for six days.
And a jury later awarded this couple emotional damages plus $260,000 for attorney fees.
We mentioned that two of the top leaders of the BBC resigned in disgrace after their wildly unfair edits on a documentary they made about Donald Trump's January 6th speech to make it look like Trump was calling for violence.
They resigned, but Trump has threatened to sue the BBC.
for $1 billion.
The letter from Trump's lawyer says they have to meet their demands by 5 o'clock Friday,
or else they will be sued for no less than $1 billion.
The UN Climate Doom Summit is going on right now in Brazil with the lowest world leader
turnout since 2019.
Only 31 heads of state are there out of 198 countries.
Trump, of course, did not go and sent no high-level delegation.
I'm Mike Slater.
I have a podcast, Politics by Faith.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Tuesday, anti-Semitism is not being reported accurately.
So now I will have to do it.
I began my analysis Friday on Bill Mars program.
by saying that responsible media people are not obligated to feature hatred peddled by miscreants.
Why bother creating that forum?
It never ends, and awful people get the exposure they crave.
Then there is institutional anti-Semitism.
It exists and has to be exposed.
I will do that on my YouTube channel this week.
I hope you watch.
The history of hatred towards the Jewish people spans 3,000 years. Subject is both incomprehensible and
frightening. As always, we will give you a fact-based analysis and perspective. This is important
because many Americans, including most, have no idea what anti-Semitism actually is. It is not taught
in schools, nor accurately reported in the media. But left unchecked, anti-Semitism will have a very
negative effect on this country or any other. That is why I'm flagging you to the YouTube
commentary, YouTube.com slash Bill O'Reilly. Please let me know what you think. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I
approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill
O'Reilly.com, Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town, if you wish to opine.
Let's go to the mail. We got Martha's a concierge member. Martha has direct access to me.
Anything happens bad to Martha. My crew will help her.
Bill, I remember about lack of problem solving in our government and its sources.
However, there's a component that is seldom talked about. The Democrats and their cohorts
actively fight against solutions because they try to deny there are problems. Both parties
do that more than. Not just Democrats. There's not a lot of problem solvers anymore.
Alton. So many of the crowd under the age of 30 believe they should receive free stuff.
The government should be taking care of them. I'm afraid with the election of a communist
mayor in a larger city that more socialist politicians will be elected in the future.
I don't think so. I think it's going to be a disaster for Mandani here.
But I could be wrong.
Bob Quinn, Wilmington, North Carolina, I agree with you, O'Reilly that affordability, especially among the young, is a critical issue and may determine the outcome of the midterms.
My question is how exactly does Trump combat these high prices?
It's up to him to do that.
There's in many different ways.
And he's starting by saying, I might give you all $2,000, so take the edge off, many different ways.
John Ward, Charlotte, North Carolina, thought your real time with Bill Maher appearance was bold and fresh.
I try not to be too fresh.
It's great to see the exchange of ideas.
All right.
It's coming up in a very short period of time.
Kerry Keyes, Medellín, Columbia.
Used to be a very dangerous city, beautiful place.
I don't know how it is now.
But watch yourself, Kerry.
I watch your broadcast every night.
I enjoy it.
Right now at the Pacific Palisades Fire,
you stated Gavin Newsom was finished as a politician.
You still have that opinion.
Yes, I do not believe Mr. Newsom is going to have success
on the national political front.
Again, could be wrong.
In a moment, something you might not know.
Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress.

Now, the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know.
16 years ago this week, the House passed the biggest overhaul of America's health care system
in half a century.
Today, 24 million Americans receive insurance through the federal program.
Here is the story of Obamacare, approved by Congress in late 2009 and signed into law by President Obama in 210.
The Affordable Care Act extended financial aid to Americans not eligible for Medicare or Medicaid.
Based on a person's income, they could purchase health insurance on the Internet through a so-called digital marketplace.
place. Anyone earning less than $100,000 a year was eligible for the government subsidy. Under new guidelines, insurers were forced to accept all applicants, regardless of pre-existing conditions. They include diabetes and cancer. And also, the insurers had to take on severely disabled people. So they raised their premium.
To offset that, Obamacare required all Americans to purchase health insurance.
You didn't have a choice.
If you did not, you had to pay a penalty to the IRS.
That provision was eventually struck down by the Supreme Court.
According to the Congressional Budget Office,
Obamacare was projected to cost around $800 billion for the first 10,000.
years. Despite numerous challenges, the subsidy remains intact. Here's where it stands today.
Premiums have soared to historic levels. In 2009, the average insurance price for an American was
about $4,000 a year. Now that figure has exploded to $9,000. Typical cost for a family of
$30,000 a year for health insurance. The actual tax
taxpayer price tag for Obamacare is double the initial projection, now standing at $1.5 trillion.
That's what the government shutdown was all about.
Democrats want to extend it.
Republicans do not.
You decide.
Back after this.
You know what's better than the one big thing?
Two big things.
Exactly.
The new iPhone 17 Pro on TELUS is fine.

You may have heard of the sex cult nexium
and the famous actress who went to prison for her involvement, Alison Mack.
But she's never told her side of the story, until now.
People assume that I'm like, this pervert.
My name is Natalie Robamed, and in my new podcast, I talked to Allison to try to understand how she went from TV actor to cult member.
How do you feel about having been involved in bringing sexual trauma at other people?
I don't even know how to answer that question.
