Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thanks, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America.
DNC insurrection. Supreme Court against Florida law, A's moved to LV, and Snoop Dogg rebranding himself.
That's all coming up. And Bill, it's going to be here with your message today. But first, Wednesday night, top Democratic
lawmakers were inside the Democratic National Committee's headquarters, but the meeting was interrupted
by pro-Palestinian protesters outside. When they heard the chanting, lawmakers tried to leave,
but the police said, no, the building's on lockdown. You can't leave. A Capitol Hill police
officer was brought inside after he got pepper spray in his face. One of the lawmakers said it
reminded me of January 6th. It rattled me. Capitol Hill police said 150 people were, quote,
violently protesting.
Six officers were treated for injuries.
Early this year, Florida passed the protection of children law,
which makes it a misdemeanor to knowingly admit a child
to a sexually explicit adult live performance.
All right?
Like, the fact that that needs to be a law is insane.
The Supreme Court said that the state is unable to enforce it.
So a lower court stopped it from being enforced.
And Florida asked the Supreme Court,
to intervene and allow Florida to enforce it until all the lawsuits are finished.
And the Supreme Court said, no, you can't enforce it.
So in Florida right now, you can knowingly expose children to sexually explicit live performances.
Major League Baseball has voted and has officially approved the A's to move from Oakland to Las Vegas.
They'll start playing baseball in Nevada in 2008.
A new stadium will be built on the strip, the Las Vegas Boulevard, and Tropical.
Avenue on the side of the
Tropicana Hotel. The team's lease
at their current stadium in Oakland
ends after the 2024 season,
so they need a place
to play in between. The A's
have been in Oakland since 1968.
Las Vegas, in 2016,
they had no Major League sports
teams. Now they have
the NHL's Golden Knights,
the NFL's Raiders,
and now Major League Baseball's A's, they also have the
WMBA's Aces, if you want to
count that. Snoop Dog,
said he is going to give up smoking marijuana.
He said, after much consideration and conversation with my family,
I've decided to give up smoke.
Please respect my privacy at this time.
I wouldn't be surprised if he comes out next week
with like his own brand of marijuana or something.
But I don't know.
Maybe he saw the light.
I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Fate,
the great Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day.
Next.
Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress.
National debt rising, trade war,
shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold.
That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
Here is a provocative question for you.
If you get fed up with the USA, if you cannot live here any longer for a variety of reasons, where would you go?
So if you look at the world map, you can't go to most places.
They're too dangerous.
You have to go to some place that would provide security and order unless you want to put your life in danger.
So the continent of Africa, for example, is out.
Most of South America, much of Asia.
You just can't go there.
So let's run it down.
Americans have a lot in common with Canadians.
So living in Canada wouldn't be that much of a cultural change.
although it is very cold up there, despite global warming,
and the opportunities are far less in Canada.
They are here.
Mexico, forget it.
You go to Mexico, anything could happen to you at any time.
How about the Caribbean?
Well, again, very hot and humid for a long, long period of time.
Bahamas is very close to Florida, and it has tax advantages.
Bermuda, extremely expensive, nice place to live, not far away, but you've got to bring a lot of money.
Europe, well, maybe Ireland for me and maybe your ethnic country for you, but Europe is not easy.
So sum it up, USA, probably your best bet.
I'm Bill O'Reilly.
I approve the message by writing it.
You can reach me.

Name in town if you wish to opine.
Now let's go to the mail.
Dr. Richard Mancuso, Riverview, Florida.
Bill, it's rare I disagree with you,
but the Republicans shot themselves in the foot
with the Supreme Court ruling against Roe.
To make that it's worse,
some red states restricting abortion to an unreasonable degree.
Well, number one, Republicans didn't have anything to do with Roe
Wade. That was a Supreme Court thing, and politics did not enter into it, doctors, so we
do have a disagreement there. I don't know about shooting anybody in the foot, but there is an
element when you get into rape and incest that's unreasonable. I will agree with you there.
Mike Crittaro, Canistoa, New York. This country is not strong enough to do what is hard,
like JFK said at Rice University in 1962.
Only pain and suffering will wake people up.
Bill, you might be packing your bags for Ireland.
Not yet.
This country, look, my own experience is I live on Long Island,
which has gone red from blue.
If it can happen here, the center of the media in the world
and all the corruption that comes along with the media,
It can happen here, happen everywhere.
Maybe not California.
Lloyd, it was better that Corinjean-Jean-Pierre gave the answer she gave instead of the one Wisconsin native suggested.
We're talking about Talib, I guess, because it showed her heartlessness.
Pierre tried to appease both the donors to her party and her left-wing flank.
You know how I feel about the spokesperson.
for the president. In a moment, something you might not know.
Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to turn into my show
every day to get your daily dose inside the world of politics. President Trump and his team
are shaking up Washington like never before, and we're here to cover it from all sides,
especially on the topics the mainstream media won't. So if you're a political junkie on a late
lunch or getting ready for the drive home, new episodes of the Sean Spicer's
show podcast drop at 2 p.m. East Coast every day. Make sure you tune in. You can find us at Apple
Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something
you might not know. A new survey from Gallup says a majority of Americans believe violent
crime is the biggest challenge facing the USA. According to the World Population Review,
America ranks 57th as the safest place to live in the world.
world, in between Belgium and Iran.
The safest is Singapore for the 10th year in a row.
Here's how that island nation maintains the lowest crime rate in the world.
Strict laws and regulations, of course.
The government imposes significant penalties for things rarely enforced in places like New
York City or Los Angeles.
Folks caught littering or fined two thousand.
$1,000. Anyone eating on a bus gets a $500 ticket. Widespread surveillance. Police deploy the biggest
array of cameras, drones, and face scanners anywhere in the world. People are tracked using
artificial intelligence in malls, hotels, and elevators. According to the Singapore Code of
Justice, there are four principles for eliminating crime. Deterrants, retribution,
prevention,
rehabilitation.
Punishment is determined by the offense.
Folks caught stealing are beaten in public,
using a cane or leather whip.
Serious criminals and repeat offenders
are sentenced to mandatory prison terms with no parole.
The death penalty applies to 33 felonies in Singapore,
including drug selling, kidnapping, murder, armed robbery,
gun smuggling, and rape.
Because of Singapore's emphasis on punishment, homicides rarely occur.
With a population of 6 million, just four people were murdered there last year.
By comparison, Chicago has less than 3 million residents in 2022.
The Windy City witnessed 725 murders.
And here's something else you might not know.
The lack of violent crime means a higher life expectancy.
On average, folks in Singapore live to the age of 89, 12 years longer than American citizens.
Back after this.
