Starting point is 00:00:52 of state anthony blinkin said the u.s is committed to step up and we've obligated just recently and pushed out the door another $8 billion in security assistance for Ukraine. And he went on to say that every single dollar at their disposal will be pushed out between now and January 20th when Donald Trump takes over. Speaking of Donald Trump taking over, he has chosen Chris Wright to serve as as a secretary of energy. Wright is the CEO of the Denver-based Liberty Energy and of course an advocate for oil and gas development and fracking. He also will serve on the newly created National Energy Council, which is going to be chaired by Trump's new secretary. of the Interior, North Dakota Governor Doug Bergam.
Starting point is 00:01:31 The trial against the alleged murderer of Lake and Riley is going on right now. The 22-year-old University of Georgia nursing student left her home at 903 in the morning on February 22nd to go for a run. She left with her iPhone and eyewatch. 25 minutes later, she was killed. During the attack, she was able to initiate the SOS function on her eyewatch. She was hitting ahead several times with a rock and asphyxiated. The data on her watch says there was a several-minute struggle. and then showed her heart rate dropping over the next few minutes.
Starting point is 00:02:01 The alleged murderer, an illegal alien from Venezuela, also has his thumbprint on her iPhone. The illegal alien has waived his right to a jury trial, so a single judge will decide his guilt or innocence. The captain of the RMS Carpathia was given a gift by three women over 100 years ago. These three women were survivors of the Titanic. They gave him an 18-carat Tiffany Gold Pocket Watch as a thank you gift. But what did this captain do? He heard the Titanic's distress call in the middle of the night, turned his boat around, and full steam ahead went towards the Titanic navigating through icebergs to get there.
Starting point is 00:02:36 The crew located 20 lifeboats and rescued more than 700 people, brought them back to New York. One of these women who gave the gift was the widow of John Jacob Aster, the richest man to die on the Titanic. The watch went to an auction, set a record for most expensive piece of Titanic memorabilia, $2 million. Bill O'Reilly with your message today. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy,

Starting point is 00:04:03 Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. On this Monday, here's a question for you. What will Kamala Harris do after she leaves Washington in January? Well, most likely she'll go back to her home in Brentwood, a suburb of Los Angeles. it's a very nice place. O.J. Simpson used to live there, Marilyn Monroe, at a house in Brentwood. But at 60 years old, Ms. Harris doesn't want to hang it up. She's going to have to do something. What will that be? Well, I can assure you that Hollywood will take care of Kamala Harris. Netflix, agencies like that will offer her deals to do stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:51 don't know exactly what, but she's very good in front of the camera. She might even be on the view from time to time. Nobody be shocked to see that. So you can expect a media presence from the former vice president. But her big thing is, I believe she'll run for governor of California in 2006 when Gavin Newsom bails out. And there's a new poll that says 72% of California Democrats would vote for Kamala Harris. So she's a lock. She's in. And I predicted that a couple of weeks ago that that's where she would go if she lost to Donald Trump. So get set for governor Kamala Harris. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Now let's go to the mail. Ron Stanley, Paradis, Louisiana, with our ever-increasing national debt, I'm very concerned about the debt's impact on our future. I support your recommendation, O'Reilly that royalties of the federal government from the Alaska oil fields be paid, used to pay down national debt. I hope that happens. I don't know whether it will. We're watching it, but that's a big thing that could happen. Patricia Dow, Lakewood, Wisconsin, just want to tell you, Bill, I look forward to your messages of the day, yes, they're free. You don't have to be a premier and concierge member. Just go every morning, Bill O'Reilly.com, like Patricia. The messages often bring me a good laugh, start my day off, and I need more of that. Thanks for being
Starting point is 00:06:44 real. Well, I am real. Glant Stackhouse, Wharton, New Jersey. I'm a big Trump supporter, but as a middle class man working two jobs, his tax plan hurt me because they cap the property, tax, and mortgage interest deduction. Trump says he's going to do away with that. I'm watching that closely because it affects me, and I will report. James Milner, Keswig, Virginia. can Congress override an executive order? No. Only body that could throw out E.O.'s Supreme Court. Sandra McCune.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Dripping Springs, Texas. I have been there. Dripping Springs. No, I'm currently homeschooling my 13-year-old granddaughter. I wanted to share our latest project on history. We're using confronting the presidents as a textbook and reading a chapter every day. Excellent.
Starting point is 00:07:37 That is so smart. and I hope your granddaughter is enjoying it. Gary Bellina, Phoenix, Arizona. I've read the entire killing series, fantastic. Confronting the Presidents was a joy to read. A lot of my liberal friends are expressing deep concern about Trump's proposed tariffs. Let's see what they are first, all right?
Starting point is 00:07:56 Again, a letter writer who said he's a negotiator, I made a good point. Let's not get hysterical right away. In a moment, something you might not know. Power, politics and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, newsmakers and even the president of the United States.

Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. Donald Trump often names America's seventh president as his personal favorite commander-in-chief. Revereered by many, the man remains one of the most controversial figures in U.S. history. Here is the story of Andrews. Andrew Jackson. Old Hickory's rough reputation goes back to the Revolutionary War when
Starting point is 00:09:14 he was captured and held as a prisoner by the British. During his captivity, his hand and face was scarred for life when an English officer slashed him for refusing to shine his boots. Jackson was just 12 years old when that happened. He was also friends with Aaron Burr, the former Vice President, who killed Alexander Hamilton in a doing duel. Jackson was even on the witness list for Burr's treason trial in Congress. You'll remember that Burr was acquitted. Andrew Jackson had an affinity for dueling himself. Throughout his life, Jackson challenged more than 100 men to a gunfight. Only a handful took him up on it, but one of them was named Charles Dickinson. On May 30, 1806, Dickinson accused Jackson of
Starting point is 00:10:08 horse race. Well, there was a duel. And Andrew Jackson was shot in the chest near his heart. The bullet would remain there for the rest of his life. Dickinson was killed by Jackson. Years later, President Jackson attacked a would-be assassin with a cane after the man's pistol jammed. The gunman was ultimately saved by Tennessee Congressman Davy Crockett, who stopped Jackson from beating the would-be assassin to death. On the last day of his presidency, Andrew Jackson told his friends he had two regrets during his time in office. I wish I had been able to shoot Henry Clay or hang John C. Calhoun. Both were Jackson rivals. And here's something else you might not know. Andrew Jackson's inauguration was one of the most rowdiest in American history.
Starting point is 00:11:06 known as a man of the people, 10,000 drunken revelers descended on the White House. Jackson himself was trapped inside, almost crushed in the stampede. For more stories about Andrew Jackson, please check out my best-selling book confronting the presidents back after this.
