Starting point is 00:00:28 justice for Lakin, land for Homan, deadbeat mom, and a new planet discovered that's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the judge and the trial of the murderer of Laken Riley found him guilty on all accounts and sentenced him to life in prison without parole. Laken Riley's mother told the judge that this murderer sentenced her family to a life sentence without a chance for parole. Her stepfather read a journal entry that Lakin wrote a few weeks. weeks before she was murdered. It was a letter to her future husband. She said, to my future husband, I want you to know them thinking about you and working every day to become the best wife I can be. I'm focusing on God and what he defines as a faithful Christian life so that I can
Starting point is 00:01:14 best embody those characteristics. I pray that you know that it is with my full faith and trust in God that I know that this relationship has been handcrafted by him. I pray that we continue to glorify the Lord, prioritizing him in every aspect of our lives, and raise our family, our future future family to be God-fearing Christians as well. The state of Texas has offered to lease to the federal government a 1,400 acre tract of land near the border wall with Mexico to build a facility to process, detain, and deport illegal aliens. The Texas Land Office Commissioner said, I stand united with President Trump to ensure American families are protected. No longer will the rape and murder of our sons and daughters be tolerated. Our state will remain a beacon of hope,
Starting point is 00:01:55 justice and dignity for all who call Texas home. A 41-year-old mother was arrested on suspicion of reckless conduct. She lives in Mineral Bluff, Georgia, way north Georgia on the border with Tennessee and North Carolina. And she's facing possible jail time because police found her 10-year-old son walking alone less than one mile from their house. Someone saw the 10-year-old walking towards the downtown and called 911 and police tracked him down.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Authorities offered to drop the charges if mom would sign a safety plan that includes putting a GPS tracker on her son's phone, she said no. She said that would be agreeing that there was something unsafe about my parental decisions. An astronomer has discovered a new planet. It's called IRAS-4125-2-2B. They got to work on that name. It's 11 times larger than Earth, 430 light years away. So if you took an airplane, it would take you 430 million years to get there. I don't think even Elon will be getting us there anytime soon. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast, Politics by Faith, the great Bill O'Roy. Riley has your message of the day.
Starting point is 00:02:56 Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. On this Thursday, I've been thinking about Donald Trump's place in history because he is truly a unique politician.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Yes, Grover, Cleveland managed to win two non-consecutive terms in office, but that was largely because his immediate predecessor and opponent, President Benjamin Harrison, was the most boring man on earth at the time. To quote the late Don Rickles, when Ben opened his mouth, dust came out. President Trump, along with Andrew Jackson, are the only American chief executives who acted out. That is, they embraced startling candor, that both helped and hurt them. It's easy to assess.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Americans react emotionally to Donald Trump. He's loved and loathed, praised and condemned. His presence provokes fear in some quarters, adulation in others. Old Hickory's persona was similar. President Trump caught an enormous break, having Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as opponents. Those two make Jimmy Carter look like a tower
Starting point is 00:05:15 of power. Incredibly befuddled. Mr. Biden bestowed economic pain on the populace. Almost daily, Kamala giggled her mindless assent to that. So now Donald Trump has a chance at greatness. That will take discipline and courage. Grover Cleveland bombed big in his second term. Trump might study that. But the president-elect does have a mandate, bring prosperity to working people and punish miscreants who impose corruption and social insanity on the country. If he does that, it'll be amazing. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town if you wish to opine. Let's go to the mail. Steve Tucci Plantation, Florida. As you say, Christy Nome will carry out
Starting point is 00:06:10 Donald Trump's policy if approved as Secretary of Homeland Security. Mayorkers did the same thing in carrying out Biden's open border policy. I'm not a fan of Mayorkas, but to blame the blame should be squarely on Biden for the border crisis. You are correct with one caveat, steep. Biden is 100% to blame for the border. But May Yorkers lied to the American people about what was really going down down there. He lied right to your face. face. And he's responsible for that.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Richie DeSanza, Oldbridge, New Jersey. I've been watching you for a long time since you were on the factor. I finished confronting a president's book was phenomenal. Thank you. Very much, Richie. My question, will the U.S. go to war with Ukraine? No. I do not believe that will happen. Judd Holmes, O'Rocledge, Florida. Bill, your success in social media is well deserved. You're the only commentator I've found that isn't all one party of the other. The U.S. election gives a much-needed opportunity to end all this partisanship, and I'm hoping that Trump can negotiate a compromise in Ukraine. I believe he will be able to do that. Rich April, Pace in Arizona, where is J.D. Vance? You know, that's an excellent question.
Starting point is 00:07:33 I've been waiting for the vice president-elect to be assigned something. Well, J.D. Vance is going to look at this or supervise that. He will be, but I guess he's, you know, look, he's got a family. So you've got a well-deserved rest. John Richardson, Oklahoma City, I keep hearing Republicans leaving a Democratic control states like New York, California, when will those states lower the number of electoral votes? Well, New York's lost three electoral votes. California won.
Starting point is 00:08:04 So they're losing, and they're going to lose more. In a moment, something you might. not know.
