Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update. Sponsored by Tax Network USA. America's number one choice for tax resolution. Please go to TNUSA.com slash bill or call 800-245-6-0-0. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thanks, Bill. Here's what happening this week in America. Trump's Thanksgiving message, Cabinet bomb threats, Zuckerberg de Mara Lago, and Socials Band.
Starting point is 00:00:35 That's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message today, but first, Trump's Thanksgiving message from his truth social account said, Happy Thanksgiving to all,
Starting point is 00:00:44 including to the radical left lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our country, but who have miserably failed. And we'll always fail because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our nation
Starting point is 00:00:56 just gave a landslide victory to those who want to make America great again. Don't worry, our country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be more than ever before, proud to be an American. About 25 people at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, I think fall into that radical left lunatic category. They tried to stop the parade in front of the Ronald McDonald balloon holding up a sign that said, don't celebrate genocide, a bunch of anti-Israel protesters, but police had none of it. They were all arrested. They postponed the parade for about five minutes. But a dozen of Trump's cabinet picks have been the target of pipe bomb threats, mostly at their homes.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Don Jr. wrote on Twitter, enough is enough with this type of deranged crap. Bomb squads were indeed brought in, no pipe bombs were found. Mark Zuckerberg made a trip to Mar-a-Lago, had dinner with Donald Trump and others, bringing together the founder of Facebook, and the former president who was once banned from it. Trump, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, said, Mark Zuckerberg, Obviously, he has his own interest, and he has his own company and his own agenda. But he's made clear that he wants to support the national renewal of America under Trump's leadership. Zuckerberg probably not happy about this story.
Starting point is 00:02:11 The Parliament of Australia has banned all social media for anyone under the age of 16 entirely. First law of its kind in the world. So it applies to TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, X, and Instagram. There are fines for up to 50,000. Australian dollars is $33 million for systemic failures to prevent children younger than 16 from having accounts. It passed the Senate 34 to 19 in the House 102 to 13, overwhelming support. The law gives the socials a year to figure out how to keep 15-year-olds off the platform entirely before they will start to enforce it. One argument against this is it violates the privacy
Starting point is 00:02:48 of those who have to prove that they're over 15 to get an account. And others say that this could further isolate LGBTQ kids who need that online community to find support. I'm Mike Slater for the podcast Politics by Faith. Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day. Next. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets. And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver.

Starting point is 00:04:01 Again, that's 866-326-5576-5576 or text bill to 998899. Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day. President Trump's getting massive, passive retribution. Comcast announced last week that NBC News is, quote, uncoupling from MSNBC. That means the progressive far-left cable channel is done. As I reported on the no-spin news, my television broadcast, it's a bit complicated. Comcast owns NBC and has seen the information mothership NBC News get hammered in the ratings
Starting point is 00:04:47 as consumers walk away. Today's show down 30 percent, nightly news off 20. 20%. As you know, pretty much every commentator on MSNBC despises Donald Trump. And executives cheered that on. But now suddenly, changes in the air, as Mr. Trump is once again the most powerful person on the planet. First up, MSNBC's name will be changed. Maybe to the Open Border Channel, OBC, or maybe the Fidel. cable channel FCC. But wait, there's already an FCC, the Federal Communications Commission,
Starting point is 00:05:30 and under Trump, it is not going to be friendly to Comcast if you get my drift. Finally, there are plenty of haters on MSNBC, as everybody knows, and it's good to see these people getting what they deserve. It is over. Hope you saved your money. More retribution for Donald Trump. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing. it, you can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, name in town if you wish to opine. Now let's go to the mail. Carolyn Swoop, Holidaysburg, Pennsylvania. I'm a retired public school teacher 30 years. I'm interested in your opinion, Bill, on Donald Trump's plan to dismantle the Department of Education.
Starting point is 00:06:18 So Linda McMahon, the wrestling magnate, who's now the Secretary of Education, she'll get confirmed. And she'll downsize that thing. I mean, Ramoswamy and Musk will go in there with a sledgehammer. So it'll be there. He's not going to ban it, but it's not going to be anything. And it'll cut its budget way, way down. I say, should. It doesn't do anything.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Education's all local, Carol. You know that. It's all local. Dennis Presley, Effingham, Illinois. I'm a Trump voter. However, if he forces Ukraine and cede territory to Putin and Russia, then in my estimation, he becomes the Neville Chamberlain of the 21st century. Overstating. Overstating.
Starting point is 00:07:07 So Putin has really been punished harshly in this war. It's embarrassed to him about a half million casualties on the Russian side. Economy tottering, Russian people hate Putin, but the secret police in the military, so back him. That's why he's there. So what Trump will do is say, hey, ceasefire, and then there'll be votes. But, you know, that's not going to be anything. I think Ukraine at this point, the Ukrainian people, ladies' poll says that, they're willing to say, okay, if some people in the eastern part of the country want to be Russia, we'll let them.
Starting point is 00:07:43 I think that's how it's going to go down. It's not a Neville Chamberlain thing. Neville Chamber and, of course, the guy who gave Hitler full reign to conquer Europe, the British Prime Minister. In a moment, something you might not know. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, newsmakers, and even the president of the United States. States. You don't want to miss an episode. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might, not know. Christmas a few weeks away, despite high inflation, economists predict Americans will
Starting point is 00:08:51 spend $1 trillion on gift giving. Here are the most popular presents to put under the tree in 2024. For adults, it's all about technology. Best sellers are headphones, tablets, wireless chargers, smart watches. Another popular genre, kitchen appliances. The average family spends $200 on coffee makers, non-stick frying pans, waffle irons, et cetera. For the 25th year in a row, the most sought-after gift for the urchins video games, Sony PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, generate $50 billion in sales each holiday season. The number one present this Christmas, the gift card.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Americans exchange $300 billion in gift certificates each December. Popular brands, Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks. Target. New on the list, Donald Trump-related merchandise. Folks are buying MAGA hats, T-shirts, even bedazzled jackets. Wow. Now, all of these presidents are a boon for the economy. Christmas time creates 200,000 temporary jobs across the land. But buyer beware. Most Americans use their credit cards to purchase gifts. Studies show 25% of the public incurred significant debt during the holidays. The typical household owes an additional $1,000 by New Year's Day. And here's something else you might not know. The most wonderful time
Starting point is 00:10:36 of the year is also the most stressful. A recent survey found 23% of adults do not like seeing their own relatives. One in five worry about picking the right gift, a quarter's day the worst part of The season is a shortage of money. 95% of Americans now carry some kind of debt. In total, families owe $1.1 trillion to the credit card companies. For excellent gifts this Christmas, please consider the Bill O'Reilly.com Christmas store.
