Middle East trip. Deeper cuts coming. Truckers, wages, rising, and almost an NFL record. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the president is in Israel today to kick off his Middle East tour. He will be meeting. with hostage families and addressing the Israeli parliament. He will then head over to Egypt, where he will participate in a Middle East peace ceremony. He'll be back in D.C. at midnight, Tuesday going into Wednesday. When Trump was in the middle of a roundtable discussion about Antifa, the secretary of state came up and whispered something in the president's ear and passed him a note. The note said, very close. We need you to approve a truth social post soon so that you can announce the deal first. The vice president said there will be deeper cuts to the federal

workforce the longer the government shutdown goes on. So far, there have been 4,200 federal employees who have received or been a part of the RIF or reduction in force. This is the largest firing of federal employees during a shutdown as opposed to just temporary furloughs. 1,200 non-essential employees at HHS, 446 in the Department of Education, 442 at housing and urban development, 1,400 at the Treasury Department, including the IRS, among others. But who will not get a pay cut? Trump wrote on truth social, because of Chuck Schumer, our brave troops will miss the paychecks that they're rightfully due on October 15th.

This is why I'm using my authority as commander-in-chief to direct our Secretary of War Pete Hexath to use all available funds to get our troops paid on October 15th. We have identified funds to do this, and Secretary Hexeth will use them to pay our troops. I will not allow the Democrats to hold our military and the entire security of our nation hostage with their dangerous government shutdown. The radical left Democrats should open the government and then we can work together to address health care and many other things that they want to destroy. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Some American truckers are saying they're getting paid more per mile as the Trump administration cracks down on illegal aliens and migrants

in the trucking industry. One trucker said he's been getting paid $1,200 for delivery from Chicago to Fargo. He was just offered 1,800. After some high profile crashes, the Secretary of Transportation is now enforcing long ignored safety regulations for truckers like, you have to be able to speak English. The field goal kicker for the Cincinnati Bengals almost broke an NFL record. He lined up for a record long field goal against the Packers hit the crossbar and went in 67 yards, beating the record by one yard. But the Packers called timeout just before. I'm not going to to mention the names because we're negotiating with them and we'll get somebody very good, I'm confident. But there is a very big advantage to us as a production company because there's a lot of very skilled performers out of work in Hollywood, unemployed. They're not making the movies they used to or the TV shows. And the ones they do make, sometimes they're in the theater, sometimes they're not, streaming, Hulow, Disney Plus. Who can keep track of all this? The last movie I went to in the theaters was about Iraq.

Very good film, but since I was in Iraq, I wanted to see how the producers did it, so I went to the theater. Played one week in the theater and then it's streaming. On this day in 54 AD, Roman Emperor Claudius was poisoned by his own wife. The murder gave total control of Rome to a teenage boy. His disastrous reign would solidify the downfall of the entire Roman Empire. Here is the story of Nero. After the assassination of Caligula, his sister, Agrippina, married the new emperor her own uncle. Her son Nero was named heir to the throne a short time later.

Agrippina had no intention of waiting for Claudius' natural death. On October 13, she fed her husband his favorite meal, mushrooms sauteed in butter. The dish was laced with poison. Claudius died instantly. 16-year-old Nero was then crowned emperor. The teenager immediately began a psychotic reign of terror. He had his mother, Agrippina, executed. She deserved it.

He then ordered the murder of his sister. She suffocated in a steam bath. Nero beat his pregnant wife to death. Soon after, under threat, of execution, his favorite male servant was castrated and forced to marry Nero as a woman. The dictator spent a fortune building an ornay palace, only to have it burned down along with the rest of Rome. After years of erratic behavior and general craziness, Roman politicians sought to remove Nero.

He then fled the capital in fear. As his enemies approached, the dictator instructed his personal secretary to stab him in the heart. Nero, dead at the age of 30. And here's something else you might not know. The expression Nero fiddled while Rome burned is not accurate. The fiddle would not be invented for another 800 years. Eyewitnesses claimed the sadistic Nero was drinking wine and singing. as Rome was engulfed by flames back in a moment.
