Here's what's happening. Today in America, packing and cracking, plain and diverted, firings stopped, and CIA actions authorized. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the Supreme Court appears ready to limit a key part of the Voting Rights Act. This case is about the drawing of a second congressional district in Louisiana for black people.
Starting point is 00:01:04 The court's conservative majority seems to believe it's against the law to use race as a factor in creating a congressional district. Now, you're a racist either way. Either states pack more black people into a single congressional district diluting their vote or the state will split black areas into multiple districts. That's called cracking, thereby diluting their vote. So you get called racist no matter what you do. The Voting Rights Act does not require proof of intent to discriminate, but many of the justices said that the plaintiffs should have to show at least some possibility of intent, which is a tougher standard to meet. Secretary of War, Pete Hexath, his plane was diverted, made an unscheduled landing in England on the way back from a visit with NATO because of a cracked windshield.
Starting point is 00:01:49 After Hexath left Brussels, open-source flight trackers spotted a C-32 lose altitude and begin broadcasting an emergency signal. In February, an Air Force C-32 carrying Marco Rubio and the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee was also forced to return to Washington after a crack in the windshield. Another federal district judge issued an emergency order, ordering the stopping of the Trump administration's firing of government workers. Russ Vote has fired over 4,000 federal workers because of the government's shutdown, not for a low's actual firing. And a district judge says, you can't do that. Russ Vote has made the argument that actually have to do this because there's no congressional appropriations to support all the federal employees that we have today. The judge said it's very much ready-fire aim on most of these programs and it has a human cost. It's a human cost that cannot be tolerated.
Starting point is 00:02:43 There's no end in sight to this shutdown. Mike Johnson warning Americans it could be the longest shutdown in U.S. history. President Trump confirmed that he had authorized CIA action in Venezuela and has indicated that his administration, is exploring land strikes. He said he authorized them because of the flow of migrants and drugs, quote, authorized for two reasons. Number one, they've emptied their prisons into the United States. They came in through the border.
Starting point is 00:03:07 And the other thing are drugs. We have a lot of drugs coming in from Venezuela. And a lot of Venezuelan drugs come in through the sea. We're going to stop that and we're going to stop them by land also. He went on to say, I think Venezuela is feeling heat. But I think a lot of other countries are feeling heat too. We're not going to let this country, our country, be ruined because other people want to drop their worst here.

On this Thursday, last week I filed a column comparing the style of President Trump to previous presidents, Andrew Jackson and Theodore Roosevelt. The point is that Mr. Trump is governing as a strong man, leader who gets things done by using naked power. The Middle East chieftains like that, because they govern the same way, without constitutional
Starting point is 00:05:07 restraints that we have in America. The Chinese respect unbridled authority, and so does Putin, who still idolizes the mass murderer Stalin to this day. But here in the USA, millions do not like authority. leadership, even if it stays within legal bounds. The Woke and Me Too movements are dedicated to bringing down male power, and some politicians, perhaps most, have become terrified. Barack Obama and Joe Biden did not lead with swagger. Neither did George W. Bush. They were all rather conventional and at times timid. Donald Trump completely rejects that approach.
Starting point is 00:06:02 He is the king of swagger, as well as a very impatient man. Get it done, we'll find a way to keep it legal. It doesn't always work out, but unless in a year, President Trump has shaken up the entire world. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message. by writing it. Okay, let's go to the mail. It's Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com name in town if you wish to opine. Phil King, St. Charles, Missouri. For much of my adult life, I've watched U.S. presidents negotiate Middle East peace deals and declare victory, but it never lasts. Radicals want to kill all Israelis and will never stop. Okay. But you still got to make the deal when you can save lives. Never going to stop. It's never going to stop. It's never going to
Starting point is 00:06:54 stop, but you get what you can. William, concierge member, William, gets direct access to me. We are on William's side. Sign up for that on bill o'Reilly.com. Why was ex-president Obama negative about Trump's Middle East success?
Starting point is 00:07:12 He was not negative. He just didn't credit Donald Trump. Likes the deal, but didn't mention Donald Trump. Steve, a job well-executed. I can't believe the stamina of President Trump
Starting point is 00:07:27 he flies on one side of the globe to another very little rest and can still act presidential a far cry from his predecessor not only that but he came back from Charmel Sheikh Egypt on immediately to honor Charlie Kirk on his
Starting point is 00:07:48 birthday he could have put it off to Friday okay and he said no I'm going to do it on his birthday So the guy He is the hardest working president in history And it's not even close really
Starting point is 00:08:04 At this point John Florida You would think former presidents Clinton and George Bush would have something good to say about the historic accomplishment Bill Clinton did Nobody's heard from George W. Bush
Starting point is 00:08:18 Very strange He doesn't like Trump, I understand but in a moment something you might not know ever heard of gold belly it's an amazing sight that delivers the best of America's iconic foods right to your door anywhere in the USA craving New York's famous cheesecake from juniors or the legendary Franklin barbecue from Texas gold belly delivers don't miss the world famous stone crab, from Joe's in Miami, or meals from chefs like Ina Garten, and more. One hundred twenty-four years ago today, President Theodore Roosevelt invited his longtime friend and a former slave to dine at the White House. The meeting sparked a national uproar especially,
Starting point is 00:09:49 especially in the South. Here's the story of Teddy and Booker T. Washington. Well, Governor of New York, TR, frequently associated with black Americans. After winning the presidency, he invited Booker, a trusted advisor, to his new home in Washington. The White House released an official statement on October 17th, 1901. Quote, Booker T. Washington of Tuskegee, Alabama, dined with the president last year. evening. News of the dinner between the former slave and the commander-in-chief provoked an outpouring of condemnation from some politicians and some in the media. One Mississippi
Starting point is 00:10:32 Democrat told colleagues, the White House is so saturated with odor that the rats have taken refuge in the stables. A newspaper in Nashville, Tennessee, reported, quote, Roosevelt committed the most damnable outrage, which has ever been perpetuated by any citizen of the United States. The Richmond Times wrote, quote, this means that the president is willing that Negroes shall mingle freely with whites in his social circle, and that white women may receive attentions from Negro men. Vicious.
Starting point is 00:11:13 The event even prompted some southern states to hard. their racial laws, codifying strict restrictions against blacks eating in restaurants, for example. The rules would eventually be called Jim Crowe. Roosevelt's response to his critics, quote, I shall have him dine as often as I please. And here's something else you might not know.
