Bill O'Reilly here. Thursday, October 20th, 2022. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update.
Here's what's happening across our nation. Stacey Abrams claims more abortions can offset inflation.
COVID returns to Europe. Archaeologists discover the Tomb of St. Nicholas. Google reveals the most popular costumes this Halloween.
Also ahead, the ACLU is lying to us.
But first, breaking news, the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Liz Truss, has resigned.
She's only been in office for a couple of months, but it's a disaster economically in Great Britain, so she is out.
Back home, Georgia gubernatorial candidate, Stacey Abrams, suggesting more abortions can offset high prices, said the Democratic.
quote, let's be clear, having children is why you're worried about the price of gas.
It's why you're worried about how much food costs. These are the economic realities of having a
child. Ms. Abrams, as you may know, favors abortion for any reason at any time.
Cases of COVID rising in Europe. Infections up 50% in Germany, Italy, Scandinavia.
Officials in France may bring back the mass mandate during the holiday travel season.
CDC in Atlanta. Warning, a similar spike could happen here. 40,000 people in the USA contract the
contagion every day, but that is down from a high of 800,000 just last January. To date, COVID
has killed more than one million Americans. Researchers believe they have found the tomb of St. Nicholas,
the real-life monk, who inspired Santa Claus. Archaeologists discovered the Crip under a fifth
century church in Turkey. Old Nick died about 343 AD. Throughout his life, the Holy Man helped the
poor and gave gifts to kids. During the Middle Ages, he was known as a patron saint of children and
became synonymous with Christmas in the 19th century. Google revealing the most popular Halloween
costumes this year, they are the Joker, a cowboy, cheerleader, pirate, dinosaur, Spider-Man.
killer clown, Batman, Superman. Number one, the classic witch. I know a lot of those.
The serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer is also in the mix, but Amazon stopped selling that costume after
complaints from parents. In a moment, the truth about illegal immigration. Right back.

office, about five million foreign nationals have crossed into the USA, most of them illegally,
and many of them seeking asylum. The American Civil Liberties Union encourages this. It supports
open borders. But we have caught that group in a ferocious lie. The ACLU is saying, quote,
under U.S. law, a person seeking asylum may do so by arriving at the border and asking to be
screened by U.S. officials at a point of entry. Or by entering the U.S. without prior inspection
and then declaring their fear of persecution, unquote.
That is false.
You cannot go into this country and ask for asylum unless you do it at a port of entry.
You can't just wander around the desert and say, I'd like asylum.
Now, we contacted Customs and Border Protection.
They confirmed the ACLU statement.
is not accurate. In other words, it is a lie. U.S. law is quite clear. Quote,
to lawfully enter the United States, a non-citizen must apply and present himself or herself in
person to an immigration officer at a U.S. port of entry when the port is open for inspection,
unquote, no exceptions. There are 328 ports of entry throughout the U.S.
and there are 51 of them on the U.S.-Mexico border.
So if you want to apply for asylum, you have to go to one of those places.
That's the law.
Now, we expect the ACLU to mislead the public.
It's an activist group dedicated to turning America progressive.
What we did not expect was President Biden
allowing people to apply for asylum not at ports of entry.
So right now, the U.S. government will allow people into the United States
whom they find wherever if that person, that foreign national, says, I'd like asylum.
That's against the law.
So in effect, President Biden is violating the law.
a bold prediction. And I could be wrong about this, but noted, if the Republicans win the House
of Representatives November 8th, and I believe they will by a wide margin, come late January,
2003, Joe Biden will be impeached because he is not obeying immigration law, and he swore at his
inauguration to uphold the laws of the United States. He has obviously not done so.
So expect that. I think it's coming. Mr. Biden will not be convicted in the Senate, but in the
House, those articles will be drawn on. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.

140 years ago today, a young boy named Blasco Frank DeSho was born in Romania.
Within a few decades, he would become one of the best known actors in the world.
Here is the story of Bella Lagosie.
Born October 20th, 1882 in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Bella began acting at age 12.
As a young teen, he moved to Budapest, then Vienna, then Berlin, and finally wound up in New York City.
He learned English and soon appeared on Broadway in some silent films.
In 1927, Lagosi starred in the theater production of Dracula.
Hollywood executives loved the performance. Universal signed him to play the character on the big screen.
The movie was a hit in 1931. Legosi became a global celebrity. For the next 20 years,
he appeared in dozens of horror movies, including white zombies, son of Frankenstein,
the wolfman, return of the ape man, and bride of the monster. But then things started to go bad for Bella.
By 1955, he had committed himself to a mental hospital in California because he was addicted
to morphine and alcohol. His drug habit led to financial ruin. He died of a heart attack
less than a year later at the age of 73. At the same time, he died. His net worth, just $3,000.
he spent all the money on drugs.
Now, nearly a century after Legosi played Count Dracula on Broadway,
the vampire remains one of the most popular characters in America.
Bram Stoker's Vampire generates $3 billion a year.
Can you believe that?
And here's something else you might not know.
Loyal to his iconic role until the end,
Bella Lugosi was buried wearing his full Dracula,
costume from the 1931 film, including the legendary cape.
Each October, thousands of fans flocked to Lagosie's grave in Hollywood
to wish the Count a happy Halloween.
