Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the O'Reilly Update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It is Tuesday, October 20th, 2026.
here's what's happening today in America.
Riots across France.
Supreme Court rules against KSM.
Elon gives out a share
and going after illegals
voting. That's all coming up.
Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, riots continue across France.
Curfews and other restrictions.
Across the nation,
Merseilles says no gatherings from noon until 8 p.m.
At least 2,400 arrests.
3,000 businesses damaged and looted.
The Interior Secretary of,
France, who's among other things in charge of law enforcement in the country, resigned.
He said authorities lost control, and that was his responsibility.
Flames engulfed the 19th century city hall in Limoges in central France.
The spire collapsed destroying the building.
A French reporter said the rioters were, quote, mostly peaceful.
He claims that the protests were hijacked by a, quote, opportunistic minority.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, he was the quote unquote mastermind behind
9-11. He pitched the idea to Osama bin Laden. He is set to face a military trial,
June 5th, 20, 28. He's been in Guantanamo Bay for over 20 years. He and two co-defendants,
Walid bin Attash and Mustafa al-Hausawi, they reached a deal back in 2024 to plead guilty
and accept a life sentence without the possibility of parole. But two days later, the then
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin rescinded that agreement. He said only the secretary,
defense could authorize a deal like this. But Kalajnik Mohammed's lawyer said no takebacks.
It went through the courts. And it finally made it to the Supreme Court. And Supreme Court said,
nice try. Mohammed will indeed face a trial with the possibility of death. Elon Musk, the world's
wealthiest person, vowed to give every child in the United States a share of SpaceX. The valuation
of the company is something like $2 trillion. Musk is the largest individual.
shareholder. A share of SpaceX is about $150.50. He said next year I'll give one of my SpaceX shares
to every kid in America. This will be the first of many. Now there are 73 million people under the age of
18 in America. So it cost about $11 billion. He's got a net worth of $908. The president said a big thank
you to our legendary friend Elon Musk for his incredible generosity and giving SpaceX stock to millions
of Americans through the Trump accounts. This was exactly what we envisioned when we created the Trump accounts.
The Department of Justice has charged 28 non-citizens with illegally voting in California.
11 arrests already yesterday.
In Operation Protect the Vote.
I'm Mike Slater for the podcast.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Tuesday, I'm thinking about the state of politics in America.
There's far too much hatred in the USA.
It's foolish.
We should be far beyond the Alexander Hamilton-Aaron-Burr cycle, but we are not.
President Trump obviously sees America differently than the left-ist.
do. However, his fortunes in November should depend on what's really happening in the country,
not propaganda and mindless ideology. The regular folks are getting hammered in the marketplace
right now. According to estimates shared by Moody's analytics, the average American household
is paying $2,000 more year-to-year for essentials. Painful. That is the main issue
on November 3rd, as you know.
But let me ask you a very simple question.
Is the two grand you're losing worth what the Democrats are offering?
Higher taxes.
Social mayhem.
Yes, I'm taking a hard look at the party and what it is willing to accept.
Like, lacks border control.
So based on reality, my...
voting decision is clear. Short-term pain, and that's Iran-driven, much of it, against long-term
gain, getting back to sanity. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it.
You can reach me. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Name in town, if you wish to
opine. Now let's go to the mail. Steve Dodds, Harriman, Utah.
Bill, I have a question.
You claim that Democrats have a good chance of winning the midterance because of high prices.
Can you point to even one Democrat who was articulated plan to reverse those prices if elected?
No, because the Democrats don't have any plan.
They'll raise taxes.
But I have pointed that out, Steve, what, a hundred times?
I know you can't watch every show, but we're on it.
Candida.
The question O'Reilly poses is the right one.
Does the extra 2,000 American households are absorbing make the Democratic alternative a better deal?
On the evidence of the policies of parties embrace, the answer is no.
Well, we'll see how many Americans agree with that.
Unfortunately, they're not getting a message because they're on their cell phones all day and all night.
A lot of them just don't know anything.
Sharon, concierge member, Sharon will be protected by my crew, should something bad,
happened to her. Where we're really getting slammed is insurance, property, auto, homeowners,
and school, much more than food or fuel. Yeah, the insurance has got to be something done.
It has to be. Federal government's got to get involved. I think competition across state
lines is the answer, or at least partially, but insurance premium is insane. David Mays, Fort
Garland, Colorado. Can you provide more insight on
the Alon Omar's situation. What a mess of truth. My question is, how did she ever make it on the ballot?
Because the states are controlling the vote. The feds don't control that. Now, if she did something
fraudulent, the Justice Department will arrest her. They are investigating. But the states are in
charge. And if you have a corrupt state, feds only can do stuff after the fact.
A moment, something you might not know.

Now, the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know.
25 years ago today, performers gathered at Madison Square Garden.
There they raised millions of dollars for the families of first responders killed on 9-11.
Here is the story behind the concert for New York City.
On October 20, 2001, the biggest acts in the world performed for a sold-out crowd.
It was the first major concert held in Manhattan since terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center.
Twenty thousand attendees were guarded by members of the NYPD, FBI National Guard.
In attendance were surviving police officers, firefighters, EMT workers, and their guests.
The roster featured David Bowie, The Who, Billy Joel, Elton,
John, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Jay-Z, and others.
Famous New Yorkers also appeared on stage.
Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee, Billy Crystal, on and on.
To the end of the five-hour broadcast, Paul McCartney, wearing an FDNY Fire Department shirt,
took the stage.
My dad was a fireman in World War II in Liverpool, she took some heavy bombing.
So I'm proud of him tonight.
I'm proud of all you guys, the Port Authority, the cops.
Proud to be wearing this t-shirt, which came from one of the guys who survived the Twin Towers.
In total, the event raised $37 million.
All proceeds were directed to the Robin Hood.
relief fund, which was established to provide long-term financial assistance to the victims,
survivors and families affected by the 9-11 attacks. And here's something else you might not know.
The money raised that night actually went where it was supposed to go, unlike some of the other
telethons. The charity's efforts faced criticism in the beginning, but we invest.
investigated, and the Robin Hood Relief Fund did what it should have done.
