Bill O'Reilly here. Wednesday, October 30th, 2019. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update. Here is what's
happening today in America. A lieutenant colonel working in the White House says President Trump
did want Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden. California Governor Newsom taking heat for his response
to the California wildfires. Some colleges ban offensive Halloween costumes and a record
amount of Americans are speaking of foreign language at home. Also coming up the message of the day,
how your tax dollars are being spent, you will not like it. But first, Congressional Democrats
unveiling their latest resolution, formalizing impeachment investigation against Donald Trump.
The House will vote tomorrow. Meantime, a lieutenant colonel working in the White House testified
secretly in front of Adam Schiff's committee. Of course, a few minutes after he testified,
a leak came out, hammering President Trump. Be very skeptical with all of this.
California's very liberal governor, Newsom, facing a backlash over his handling of multiple
wildfires engulfing the state. The region's largest energy provider, PG&E,
announcing plans to cut power to an additional 1.5 million.
billion customers in California to prevent the inferno from getting even worse. Newsom blames the blackouts
on, quote, corporate greed and management. But the truth is, state regulations are fanning the
flames, so to speak. A recent survey says 51% of students at American University in D.C. support punishing
those who wear highly offensive Halloween costumes. The number of
getting even higher for Ivy League schools. One college telling undergrads the appropriation of certain
outfits could be considered cultural genocide for minorities on campus. Who knew? Students say
worst offenders include stereotypical Native American clothing, Disney cartoons like Aladdin or Moana,
Cowboys, religious attire. According to the University of Maryland, viewing these costumes could spark
significant anxiety or something.
Another new poll revealing a record number of Americans speaking of foreign language at home.
The data says 67 million residents do not speak English in the House.
Most of the languages are Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, and French.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day tax and spend, why money is out of
control in Washington, D.C. The amount of cash the federal government collected from us,
individuals, in income taxes, and the total amount of money the Fed spent both
set records in fiscal 2019. Here are the stats. Individual income tax revenue, that's income tax for
working people, $1.7 trillion. Corporate tax revenue, $230 billion. Total tax revenue, including
Social Security taxes, customs duties, $3.4 trillion. Again, that is a record amount of money
going to Washington, D.C. But it's not nearly enough. That's because last year, 2019,
the Fed spent $4.4 trillion. Unbelievable. A trillion more than the government took in.
Estimated deficit for the coming year, $284 billion. This is crazy. But Americans are not
crazed about it because they can't see deficits in debt. It doesn't directly affect them
right now, but it will. So what are the Fed spending the money on? Department of Health and Human
Services spends $1.2 trillion. That's on Medicare, Medicaid, other welfare services for Americans
who need support, and there are tens of millions of them. Social Security, what?
$1.1 trillion. Department of Defense, $650 billion a year, a record amount under President Trump,
who has pledged to, quote, rebuild the military. Interest on the Treasury debt we have, just interest,
$570 billion a year. That's wasted money. Now, Democrats running for president promise to increase spending
in a massive way. Medicare for all, Green New Deal, entitlements like free child care for every baby
and free college. If the Democrats get power, the economy will likely collapse underneath all that
debt. So I'm becoming Paul Revere here. Instead of the British are coming, bankruptcy is coming.
You simply cannot tax individual Americans anymore. And there are not enough rich people in the country
to even come close to funding the federal debt. As far as corporations are concerned, if you
raise taxes on American companies, many of them will leave the country. As you may know,
President Trump brought back a lot of corporate assets from over.
overseas by cutting taxes, and that is one of the reasons we have a vibrant economy.
If the reverse happens, the economy will crater. And forget about a recession, the United States
could go into a depression. All of this spending has to be reined in. If President Trump is
re-elected, he must be more fiscally responsible, or the country will pay a huge,
price and soon. And that's a message. Please check out my latest book, The United States of Trump.

Finding a good real estate agent who understands your needs can be incredibly difficult.
My friend Glenn Beck started the service real estate agents I trust.com to make sure you get connected
with agents who are ambitious and have a long and successful track record. Their agents who are
experts in your town and do business like you with your values. I heard a story of a family
who's home had been on the market for more than a year, and they were facing a difficult
scenario of what to do next. They learned about real estate agents I trust, and after contact,
a real estate agent was able to go in, make some changes to the house, and then sold the
house within three weeks. This is why I endorse real estate agents, I trust.com. No pinheads, just
great agents. I wouldn't hesitate to use real estate agents I trust if I were going to sell my
home. So get moving today with real estate agents, I trust.com. Now the O'Reilly update brings
you something you might not know in honor of Halloween tomorrow. During the golden age of cinema,
universal pictures released more than 80 classic monster movies. Dracula, Frankenstein, the
wolfman, the mummy, stuff like that.
Americans loved a good thrill at the theater, slapping down 25 cents for an evening of fright.
The movies would often repeat storylines, but customers did not seem to care.
The actors playing the monsters, some of them anyway, became big stars.
But what exactly happened to them?
Here we go.
Lon Cheney, the Phantom of the Opera, the original guy, started more than a hundred
50 movies in his lifetime. Cheney famous for doing his own makeup using egg membranes,
fish skins, a bald cap, even sticking wires up his nose to create the signature skeletal look
for his iconic role of the Phantom. Laun Cheney died from throat cancer at age 47 while negotiating his
next big role, Dracula. That part ultimately went to a little-known actor named Bella Legosi.
Mr. Lugosi went on to hit it big, acting in more than a hundred movies, many for Universal.
His turn as Count Dracula is considered by many to be the classic portrayal.
Make up costume mannerisms all created by Lugosi himself on set.
Bella Lugosi died of a heart attack in 1956 at age 73.
At his funeral, attendees were shocked.
He was buried in his signature Dracula cape.
From the castle to the lab where Boris Karloff played Frankenstein's monster, no less than three times.
Legendary makeup artist Jack Pierce created the signature look for the monster.
Carlisv spent hours in makeup and was forced to wear four-inch platform shoes weighing 13 pounds each.
And here's something you might not know.
Towards the end of his career, Boris Karloff starred in a number of voiceover roles.
may recognize him as the Grinch in the 1966 holiday classic how the Grinch stole Christmas.
So this Halloween dial up a classic horror flick and leave the chainsaws to the amateurs.
Right back.
