Bill O'Reilly here.
You are listening to the O'Reilly update.
Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Thank you, Bill.
It is Monday, October 6, 2025.
Here's what's happening today in America.
DHS boxed in.
California Guard to Oregon.
Virginia Attorney General called to drop out, and Mark Sanchez arrested.
It's all coming up, then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day.
But first, Department of Homeland Security announced that in Chicago, law enforcement
officers during routine patrolling were boxed in by 10 cars and rammed by vehicles.
One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with the semi-automatic
weapon.
Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fired defensive shots at the armed
citizen, U.S. citizen, who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.
That's what Homeland Security said.
According to DHS, the armed woman was named in a CBP Border Patrol intelligence
Bulletin last week for doxing agents and posting online, hey, to all my gang, let's blank
those mother blanks up.
Don't let them take anyone.
Multiple law enforcement sources confirmed to Fox News that Chicago police officers were
instructed by their chief of police to not respond to Border Patrol agents call for
help after they were surrounded in that attack.
After a federal judge blocked President Trump from deploying Oregon National Guard to Portland,
200 National Guard personnel arrived from California.
on orders from the White House.
The orders, by the way, are to protect federal buildings and law enforcement.
The governor of California called the president's actions a breathtaking abuse of law and power and has vowed to sue.
The Democrat running for Attorney General in Virginia, J. Jones, wrote text messages in 2022
about him wishing that the now former State House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his children would be killed.
He wrote in the texts,
I will go to their funerals and P-I-S on their graves.
He threw out this scenario where he said if there were three people in two bullets
and if it was between Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot, quote,
Gilbert gets two bullets to the head every time.
He later said, only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.
He wrote in a text, I mean, do I think Todd and Jennifer, his wife, are evil and that they're
breeding little fascists?
Yes, referring to their two young children.
Former USC quarterback, fifth round draft pick, NFL quarterback from 2009 to 2018, now commentator for Fox News, Mark Sanchez.
We heard he was stabbed.
Turns out after he left the hospital for stab wounds to the chest, he was arrested, charged with public intoxication and battery.
More details still to come, but Sanchez told police he has no memory of the incident.
I'm Mike Slater.
I have a podcast called Politics by Faith.
Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day.

Time now for the O'Reilly Update, message of the day.
On this Monday, 87-year-old Jane Fonda is back.
Jane, we missed you.
Well, not everybody.
Ms. Fonda says she is terrified that her freedom of speech is
under attack. So, she is leading a movement in Hollywood, and I guess about 500 entertainment people
have signed on to it to fight any kind of threat to their expression. Well, this is pretty
interesting because Jane Fonda actually sat on an anti-aircraft gun during the Vietnam War
and helped the enemy, the North Vietnamese. She was not processing.
executed. Nothing happened to her. She came back and resumed her show business career.
Jane Fonda also has been very high profile in promoting her liberal points of view.
Written a couple of books, she's out there. No downside for Jane. Made a nice living.
87 years old. Humming along. Now I make my living bloviating.
using my speech, and I'm well compensated. I've been attacked by people who disagree with me,
but never the government never shut down about what I can or can't say. So, Jane, you shouldn't be
terrified. This is a myth. This isn't happening in our country. You can say whatever you want.
I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me.

Seven years ago today, the Senate voted to confirm the 114th Justice to the Supreme Court.
The nomination process took three months.
weeks of testimony, and a last-minute investigation by the FBI.
Here is the story of Brett Kavanaugh.
His predecessor, Anthony Kennedy, announced his retirement in June 2018.
After a series of personal interviews, President Donald Trump officially picked Kavanaugh as his replacement.
Public hearings began two months later.
On September 27, Democrats held an emergency session to discuss allegations
that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a woman while in high school. His accuser, a professor in California
named Christine Blasey Ford. In a confidential letter sent to Senator Dianne Feinstein earlier that
summer, Ford claimed that Kavanaugh locked her in a room and assaulted her at a party in
1982. Feinstein refused to elaborate on why she concealed that letter. Kavanaugh immediately issued
the following statement. I categorically deny the allegation. I did not do this back in high school
or at any time, unquote. Well, three more women came forward with similar accusations, but they
were not deemed credible. Under orders from President Trump, the FBI launched an emergency
investigation. The probe lasted seven days, including dozens of interviews and thousands of documents.
The FBI found no evidence of misconduct on Kavanaugh's part.
Democrats immediately labeled the investigation a sham.
On October 6th, the Senate voted 50 to 48 to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
It's the closest confirmation vote since 1881.
Today, Ms. Ford remains a professor and researcher in California, and here's something else you might not
No. The allegation made Blasie Ford a celebrity.
She was later named one of the most influential people by Time magazine.
The person who submitted her nomination, then Senator Kamala Harris.
